Video Summary
AI GeneratedThis broadcast covers Election Day activities in Massachusetts, focusing on the New Bedford and South Coast regions. The host discusses voting logistics, local candidate committees, and the impact of illegal immigration on state resources. Through listener calls, the program emphasizes the importance of high voter turnout to protect civil liberties and ensure political accountability.
Good morning. Welcome to the third
and final hour of the program today. I wonder what we're
going to talk about tomorrow. Today's election day.
Hopefully, we'll have a lot of information
to talk about tomorrow. I think
the Massachusetts election results will be settled this evening.
I believe they will. Across the country, they probably won't be.
So control of the Senate,
control the House, that may be up in the air
when we come on the air tomorrow.
But I believe most Massachusetts races will
be settled this evening, this evening.
Polls close at 8 o'clock.
Remember, there's a long ballot.
So the sooner you can get there, the better.
I know we all have tight schedules.
It took a little longer than I thought it was going
to take for me to vote the two-page ballot.
I literally had to call ahead or text ahead to Tim.
I knew he would cover me.
We're a great team here.
But that, hey, I might be a little late.
And there was traffic.
In Faneuil Hall, coming in and out of the polling place.
So anyway, get out and vote.
It's two pages, the ballot.
And Tim's working on a story about some polling interruptions,
some voting interruptions that took place
at a number of precincts in the city of New Bedford.
Maybe best described as minor technical,
minor technical problems that shouldn't have any impact on the results.
Or your voting experience.
So get out to vote if you're in the city of New Bedford.
If Tim has a story, it'll be up at wbsm.com.
Minor, minor technical problems so far, okay?
That's the best way to describe it.
And no problems of a big nature like to have
been in the past in the city elections.
Super Tuesday when there are no ballots, places, things like that.
None of that so far.
But the day is long, the day is long.
So guys, I think we'll be done tonight and we'll quickly be
moving on to the city elections, to the town elections.
The town elections come before the
city elections. You want to keep up to it, go to OCPF.
It's the State Office of Campaign and
in political finance.
When you come to the dashboard,
There's a great little segment there.
You can just push on it.
it says recently created or recently established committee.
So because Fall River has about 100,000 people,
New Bedford has about 100,000 people.
If you want to run for the city council or the mayor's office,
you have to organize a committee.
Same with Brockton.
So New Bedford, Fall River, Brockton.
you got to organize with OCPF at the state level.
So that makes it really easy for you and
me to keep track of who's going to run,
who's established a committee in those communities.
If you want to run in Fairhaven for selectmen, you do it locally.
Same thing in Freetown and
Dartmouth, Westport.
But in the city of New Bedford, city of Fall River, you organize with
OCPF. And there are already two new committees up there
for the city council.
A gentleman who's a caller here to the program,
I find him to be very intelligent.
I don't know him.
I've never met him.
He's organized a committee.
And so has Marcus Coward,
who was almost on the school committee by an appointment
of the Shane Denistas and the mayor of New Bedford, John Mitchell.
but at the last minute, that didn't happen.
Brad Markey was appointed.
And we all know Marcus Coward.
Because he was out campaigning for the communist U.S. Senate candidate
in the city of New Bedford against Democrat Ed Markey
and Republican John Deaton.
So he's running for city council.
So that's going to be very interesting.
A guy named Warren Samuels, Warren Samuels has organized a committee.
And he's been a caller here, really, really intelligent man.
I don't know how he feels about all the issues. I've never met him,
but I look forward to meeting him. So the elections for city positions,
that campaign is off
and running cuz you got a number of incumbents there as well,
who I think are gonna seek reelection or seek higher office.
All right, we got some people
on hold, let's go. Good morning, happy election day.
Hey, happy election day,
Chris, how's it going? Good, good, what's happening?
Hey, you know, I was thinking about this and I was like,
hmm, who's going to have the best day ever if Healy wins
and who's going to have the worst day ever?
Do you know who those people are?
I do not.
Tim Cook, because he just got the get out of jail free card.
Oh, you know who's going to?
Yeah.
You know who's going to have the worst day ever?
Who? Hello? Yeah, go ahead. I'm here. Go ahead.
Who? Yeah, you are, Chris, because I'm going to
keep reminding you for four years how you voted
for Healy the first time. If she gets reelected.
Yes, sir. You're saying I started the devastation.
You were part of the devastation, correct?
Listen, I've been pleading guilty for a long time.
You wouldn't know except for my confession.
Thank you very much.
True story, true story.
How was the turnout?
Did you early vote?
Did you vote today?
I did not.
I'm actually going right now.
I just, fortunately, yeah, I had.
I actually took the day off from work just to vote
because I had some earlier commitments,
but I'm going right now. And if you want- Yeah, call back.
Yeah, call back if you can.
For sure. Definitely. All right, Chris.
All right. Thanks, my man. Thank you so much.
Yeah, 508-996-0500.
I dropped someone's call somehow.
Anyway, call back. So yeah,
if you've already called and then you go vote,
you want to call back and give us a count,
Stuff like that, I love to have it.
Information is the coin of the realm.
I've got some great people, retired Lieutenant Kevin Cobbs,
keeping us up to date with the public information
that's available on voting in Fairhaven.
They do an hour-by-hour chart updating precinct
by precinct how many votes have turned out.
So Fairhaven looks really promising, really promising.
Good morning, thanks for calling back.
Hello, you're on the air.
Hello. Hi, Chris. Hi. I mean.
I voted 1-D at 10-15.
The total was 4-16.
But that's a double because there's two ballots going in.
So it's really 208 at 10-15.
Hi, um,
What do you think that means for overall?
In other words, is that good for Monod, good for Healy?
How do you think that translates into the results?
I think it's good for the whole Republican Party,
all the way down the ballot.
Yeah, I hope you're right. I do.
I hope you're right. You're up in 1D, good turnout.
Yes. At 1015, that was.
What do you think about the ballot
questions? Do you care to share how you voted?
Sure. I voted yes on one. The other questions,
on four, I voted no. On eight, I voted no. On nine,
I voted no. I like that question number nine.
I think that was the most important
question of all of them, really. So
I'm kind of happy because I usually go 7
o'clock in the morning, 7.30 in the morning,
and I decided to wait until 10, 10.15,
and yeah, there was people in the place.
I mean, it wasn't a line, but everybody,
there was about eight people in there.
Hey, thanks for the call, my friend.
I do appreciate the information. 508-996-0500. That's
how you can get on the air. Where have you voted?
Did you early vote? Did you vote today? If you
care to give me the count,
I'd love to hear it and where you voted and why you voted for what
you voted. If you want to give a plug for one of the candidates
or tear one down, certainly be my
guest. That's what talk radio is all about.
Let's go back to the calls. Good morning. Thanks for
Hi, you're on the air. Hi, good morning.
I would actually, now that early voting is over,
I'd like to offer some constructive criticism of the early voting.
Sure. Not so much the voting
process, but the problem with the library being
the voting place. Okay. This is the second time
I voted early, which is a great idea.
I find it very convenient. No problem. What I don't find
They're trying to go downtown to Bedford.
You've got to find a parking space, God help you.
Then, once you find a parking space, you've got to get to the library,
and you've got to go in the side entrance.
And as you're going into that side entrance,
that area has some interesting characters hanging around.
Yes, yes it does.
So it kind of casts...
A bad light. I mean, I'm a single guy. I don't care.
I'll go vote. But I can imagine some of these older folks
who may look at those cast of characters and say, I don't feel safe.
I just think to myself that they shouldn't
be hanging around that doorway to go into the library.
Yeah, I think that would be maybe the police, ultimately the mayor.
Yeah, that's probably a tough one. Maybe not. Maybe it shouldn't be.
Well, either that, maybe change the location,
make it not at the downtown library, make it somewhere else.
Thank
That whole, you know, and I get you're going to say,
well, you know, you pay 25 cents to pay to vote.
OK, that's, you know, for the parking meter, that's fine.
But there's no place close to City Hall to park.
So, you know, the city is sort of making it convenient,
you.
but sort of not making it convenient.
Hey, I think that's all really valuable constructive criticism,
and I know they listen down City Hall, so you said it the right place.
The mayor will be here tomorrow as my guest
if you want to give him a call.
I appreciate that. Thank you so much.
Hey, thank you, my friend.
508-996-0500, that's how you can get on the air.
It's election day. Tell us how you vote if you want to,
and if you have any constructive.
I think that it's,
It's great, the early voting.
I think it's great, but as that gentleman pointed out,
there are some drawbacks depending on where you are.
All right, let's go back to the phones.
Good morning. Thanks for holding.
Hi, is it me?
It's you.
Yeah, I just came from Precinct 1G,
and I was about an hour ago at 11:15,
and I was the 514th voter.
Excellent.
Do you think that's good for Minogue or good for Healy?
Well, let's put it this way. I hope it's good for Manoa.
Okay. I appreciate that.
So, but that's my vote.
Thank you so much.
I just wanted to let you know.
Hey, I really appreciate that. Thanks for the call.
Thanks for listening. Don't be a stranger.
508-996-0500. Ward 1, Donald Trump won Ward 1.
He also won Ward 2. He won the district that...
Was represented by Chris,
I guess still is represented by Chris Markey, will be vacated.
So you've got Chester Tam in Dartmouth along with Ed Pacheco.
He's the Democrat.
He beat out Mr. Medeiros in the Democrat primary.
So you got a choice in Dartmouth.
That's a big choice, right?
Chris Markey represented that town
and the north end of New Bedford really well.
Didn't always agree with all his votes.
Now he'll be our next district attorney.
Take a break. We'll be right back. Stick around.

Welcome back to the program.
It's election day.
I was just chatting with Tim.
If it wasn't for Tim, guys, by the way,
this whole place would collapse.
The pirate ship would certainly sink.
He reminds me that although I am broadcasting on November 11th
from the Military Museum in the south end of New Bedford,
and traditionally the mayor is my guest on Wednesdays at 11,
he reminds me that the mayor may be in the parade at that point
because he believes the parade kicks off at 11.
So maybe the mayor will be occupied
and won't be able to join me on Wednesday at 11 when he's traditionally
my guest here on the program, because he'll be otherwise occupied.
So we'll figure that all out.
And if I have to adjust, I will to make midweek with the mayor happen,
maybe in a different format on a different day,
if the mayor can do that as well.
Whatever we got to do, right?
I think the mayor has an obligation to address the city through WBSM,
and we certainly are happy to make that accommodation.
You know, in 1974, a South Coast family started answering
calls about clogged drains and failing septic systems.

they're still answering your calls with the same values and respect.

Your parents probably called Bass Ready Rooter.
Your neighbors definitely still do call Bass Ready Rooter.

but we'll always be your last call.

All right.
Taking your calls on election day.
Here we go.
Good morning.
Thanks for holding.
Good morning, Chris.
Good morning.
I have a question.
How concerned should we be about non-citizens voting
in this election today?
You should always be concerned about skullduggery caused by foreigners,
particularly in our democracy.
But what do we do about it?
I know. Is there any monitoring going on to catch that today?
Well, I know there are monitors in Boston.
I'm
starting
I don't know about locally,
and I don't think the Attorney General is particularly concerned
about it at the state level, Andrea Campbell, although she might be.
And look, I think that it's gotta be such
to
a turnout of American citizens that whatever
speak
foreigner's plans are overwhelmed
by the tremendous patriotism of American citizens turning out
now.
Because is it not true
that every illegal vote cancels out a legal vote?
All them voting for Democrats will cancel the Republican vote,
the legal vote for Republicans.
You know what I'm saying?
I do. I do. But I don't think the numbers of illegal aliens casting
an illegal vote are going to be high enough to overwhelm all
the great American citizens who are already turning out.
So I don't think,
I think it's up to the patriots in my audience and in our universals
to get out and vote so that the election is not stolen.
That's the only way to do it.
Okay, I'll stay optimistic.
Thank you, Chris.
Thank you, my friend.
Like Omaha, right?
Like the beaches of Omaha, like D-Day,
just overwhelm the enemies of the republic.
Just overwhelm them with your numbers.
Just overwhelm them with the numbers.
There may be a day, put it this way,
when you hear about Mike Minogue giving a million
dollars to Donald Trump, first of all,
that's like me giving $100 to a candidate, quite frankly.
You ever look at how much money that man has?
The fact that he gave a million dollars to help
close the border is like me giving $100 to a Republican candidate
or to a friend of mine
who's a Democrat, right?
A million dollars from Mike Minogue is not a lot of money.
And the fact that that money was used
to close the border by Donald Trump,
because if Kamala Harris had won that election,
we'd still be facing waves of illegal aliens
through an open border.
The only reason Massachusetts was able to stabilize
is because Mike Minogue stepped up and donated a million dollars
to help Donald Trump close the border. If Kamala Harris had won,
which is what Maura Healey and the other Democrats wanted,
the border would still be open.
They never changed the law in Massachusetts
that they used to provide taxpayer-funded
hotel rooms to illegal aliens.
That law is still on the books.
The supermajority Democrats and the governor never changed it.
So when you hear that Mike Minogue gave
a million dollars to Donald Trump,
that's designed to scare you.
It ought to inform you that Mike Minogue helped stabilize Massachusetts
By closing the border, because if the border was still open,
we'd still have waves after waves of illegal aliens flooding
into Massachusetts and given sanctuary in the Healy Hotels
and DoorDash and UberRides and fluffed and folded laundry,
all paid for by money that used to go to local aid.
The only reason you can keep station nine open.
It's because it was surplus money in the budget
that wasn't given to illegal aliens
because Mike Minogue and Donald Trump helped close the border.
Donald Trump did it.
Mike Minogue helped fund the campaign to close the border.
That's really how you got to look at that million-dollar donation.
That was to stabilize Massachusetts by closing the border.
That's the only way to look at it.
All right, let's go back to the phones.
Good morning.
Thanks for holding.
Good morning, sir. Just a good day for America. This is why we,
as I used to tell my students, this is why we fought that war.
So we can get up today and make the decisions for ourselves.
Unfortunately, some of the masses
are making some decisions that are hurting the rest of us.
And that topic that you just brought up is very near
and dear to my heart because I'm the son of a man
who came to this country on April 9th, 1963 with $75 in his pocket.
with a letter saying that he was going
to 29 Scarlet Connect Road Fair Haven and then by 1972 he
was an american citizen and by the 1980s he had built his own business
and raised a family and
conquered the american dream
and unfortunately today that's not possible uh for many people
because of what you just spoke of the lack of discipline
and spending of
Our tax dollars, let me repeat, our tax dollars,
that is our tax dollars that go to these people
who've contributed absolutely nothing to society.
And as I'm going to tell everybody that's
listening to me right now,
even Rome fell, the greatest power in the world at the time collapsed.
And if we keep going the way we're going,
ladies and gentlemen, we will fall like Rome.
Have a great day and thank you for the platform.
You too, my friend.
Don't be a stranger.
508-996-0500.
Remember, I don't think most people have
a problem with legal structured immigration.
It was the opening of the border by the Democrats.
Now everybody's like, it's obvious,
the border's closed, we're stabilized.
Yeah, but you voted to keep the border open.
If you voted for Kamala Harris,
if you campaigned for Kamala Harris,
if you endorsed Kamala Harris, you voted for open
borders, which only hurt Massachusetts taxpayers,
flooded this state with illegal aliens.
It wasn't a mistake, it was part of a big plan.
You realize that, right?
Alright, Maura Healey is not a moron.
The state senators aren't in the House of Representatives.
They're Democrats, but they're not stupid.
They know what they're doing.
They know how to incentivize stuff.
If you give someone a driver's license and a hotel room,
free health care, put them on MassHealth for the first time ever
in their life, give them medical care and free prescription drugs,
they're going to come.
They turned Massachusetts into Sandals in the Northeast.
You ever been to Sandals?
I used to love going to Sandals, Jamaica.
I mean, it's just the place is the best,
right? Eat all you can eat, drink all you can drink,
lay out, you don't have to go to work.
Everything's paid for.
I mean, you paid for it, I paid for it. But you get it,
right? They just did Sandals Northeast
for all the illegal aliens to flood in.
And that would have continued,
but for the fact that Donald Trump became president.
And he did it in part with a million dollars from Mike Minogue,
which stabilized Massachusetts and stopped because the Massachusetts
legislature, supermajority Democrats and the governor have never closed
the unique state law that no other state has that allowed the governor
to provide illegal aliens with hotel rooms and everything else.
DoorDash, free laundry service. Look, I get my laundry done.
I know Tim gets his laundry done,
but we pay for it. They do a great job.
I'm glad they do. I'm more than happy to pay for it.
By the way, it wouldn't matter if I wasn't.
It's the only way I can get it done.
But if you're an illegal alien in Massachusetts,
you got your laundry done, you got your hotel
room, you got your food.
If you didn't like the food, you could DoorDash it.
Billions of dollars
It was intended by the taxpayers.
To come back in local service and direct local aid was lost to illegal
aliens because you had the Democrats running their own foreign policy.
508-996-0500, that's how you can get on the air.

Good morning.
Thanks for holding.
Good morning, Chris.
Good morning.
Yeah, I'm just listening to the last caller talking about, you know,
the problems of the state and all the money we've spent on illegals.
The problem is,
Is even locally, you have people that agree with that sentiment,
but then we'll go out today and vote for Senator Mike Rogers,
who is all for spending money on illegal aliens.
And it's people need to understand that, you know,
just because you know somebody or whatever it is,
they've been around a little while.
These are the people that are putting these policies in place.
You need to get rid of all of them,
regardless of what their position is.
They're all cut from the same cloth.
That's who's bringing these problems to Massachusetts
and other states and the country as a whole.
You need to get rid of all the people.
I've heard people advocate for Mike Rogers
and at the same time claim they're these big Republicans,
which it just doesn't make any sense.
He doesn't have conservative values,
he's a Democrat, he supports spending the billions
of dollars on the illegal side,
I urge people to vote all these people out, every one of
them.
Thanks for the call, 508-996-0500, again,
an occasional phone call has some effect,
but really it's no effect really, if you understand politics,
and I think that caller does, he's
He's been around a while.
Mostly in Fall River.
All right, we got some people on hold.
I'm not sure if you can hear me.
I'm not sure if you can hear me.
And we're going to go to them,
but I got to take a real quick break and we'll be right back.
It's election day.
Get out and vote.
Really get out and vote.
I don't care who you're voting for, what you're voting for.
You got your reasons.
Get out and do it.
All right?
It's important that we have real good turnout
so that people recognize we're in play.
And so they help us out more, right?
They're more responsive that way.
We'll be right back.
Back to Chris McCarthy and South Coast now on WBSN.
Call 508-996-0500.
Welcome back to the program.
Let's go right back to the phones.
Good morning.
Thanks for holding.
Hey, Chris, me again.
Hey, what's happening?
Just voted.
Quick and easy.
Smooth sailing.
I do want to.
I misspoke.
I want to make a correction.
Lamar Cook is going to have the best day ever.
Oh, not Tim Cook.
Tim Cook from Apple.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He's good.
I don't think he has to worry about any of that stuff.
So, um, but
But yeah, smooth sailing, quick and easy.
Yeah, what I've been learning, man, also was...
What part of the city do you vote in?
I do not vote in the city, Chris.
I now vote in Dartmouth.
Oh, congratulations.
Because I got priced out of the city.
You know what I mean?
Not only that, but, like, you know, obviously other reasons.
But, yeah, I got priced out of the city.
I can't afford to live in the city no more.
I mean, let's just talk about water bills.
My, like, which I know people in Dartmouth have been complaining about,
like, the increases in water bills.
But, like.
Just let me tell them something.
My one month water bill is my quarterly water bill in
Dartmouth. Just a heads up for all y'all folks.
And then you just add taxes and all that complete
difference. But anyway, yeah, quick and easy, in and out, all of that.
And what I've learned
over this election period is elections
are quite very similar to...
Fantasy football, should I say.
Fantasy football for nerds, should I say.
You know, you kind of put them in order.
You kind of, you know, you throw the gun laws into this guy's pocket
and the abortion into this person's pocket,
and you try to figure out, like, where everybody's going to stand.
It's kind of like a science.
It's kind of cool.
You know, I'm picking it up.
I'm seeing, like, the power plays and the moves.
It's quite interesting.
It is, right?
Yeah, but I could never be a politician.
I'm too honest.
I would tell people to go ask themselves and all that.
And that's not, that's not good.
That doesn't get you votes.
Yeah, definitely not.
Yeah, Chris, listen, I'll tell you the real reason.
Obviously, the governor and stuff,
but I really want to stress if anybody hasn't voted, question nine.
You know, I know people are afraid of firearms and all that,
but as a firearm owner myself, let me tell you,
I'm going to protect the Democrats and liberals
and the independents and the Republicans and everybody else.
That's what, you know, we're not all crazy out there.
Right.
And as you can see with that gentleman
that stopped that school shooting, you know,
sometimes the solution is the good citizen with a firearm.
Totally agree with you, my friend.
508-996-05.
And again, question nine.
If you care about your civil rights, and I know you do.
I know you do.
Particularly if you like freedom of speech,
you like the right to assemble, the right to your own religion,
you got to like the Second Amendment.
You don't have to practice it, but you got to respect it.
So you should vote no on nine,
because that's how citizens tell the government no.
No on nine is how you tell the government
no on restricting your civil liberties.
That's really what question nine is about.
A lot of details in there about firearms and all that stuff,
but really it's about an
over encroachment of the government reaching
into people's personal lives that are protected
by the Bill of Rights.
So it's not just firearms, it's telling the government,
hands off my civil rights.
So you gotta vote no on nine in my opinion,
regardless how you feel about firearms, okay?
Really regardless of that, vote no on nine,
it's about your civil liberties, your civil rights
I know everybody's thinking about affordability.
You've got to heat your home.
Let me make a suggestion.
Build a relationship.
Start a relationship today with a local company that can heat your home
and air condition your home.
That's Columbus Energies.
Columbus Energies, located right here in Bristol County,
over there on Route 6 in Swansea.
Family owned since the early 1960s.
And they have those same family values.
Columbus Energies, here's how you reach them.
For home heating oil delivery, propane delivery,
and also service, burner service, to make
sure you have your service,
your burner is running efficiently, whether you're using
home heating oil or propane, reach out to Columbus Energies.
It's very easy to contact them.
They got a website, columbusenergies.com,
but listen to this phone number, 508.
6-7-4-14-92.
What happened in 1492?
Columbus sailed the ocean blue
to deliver home heating oil to you and to me.
That's how you build a relationship
with the Columbus Energies.
It's very easy.
Just pick up the phone and call them.
Ask about home heating oil delivery.
Ask about burner service 24 hours a day.
By the way, they come really highly recommended.
You know, Jimmy DeMello owns a lot of property.
Jimmy uses Columbus Energies.
That's how I met him, actually.
That's how I met the owner.
It was at lunch with Jimmy DeMello.
Lenny Mills Jr. from Rehoboth.
Not only does Lenny use them at all
of his properties, which are numerous,
but also the town of Rehoboth uses
the burner service of Columbus Energies.
I can't say enough good things about family-owned Columbus Energies.
Go to columbusenergies.com or give them a call at 508-674-1492.
They got all your burner service needs,
propane needs, and home heating oil needs.
And they got a lot of local companies, even closer.
They've absorbed a lot of what he is.
All right, we got some people on hold.
Good morning.
Thanks for holding.
Yeah, good morning.
How are you today?
I'm doing good.
How are you?
Oh, great.
It's a great day for me.
I get to go out and vote.
Today is a celebration.
I want to vote for him because we can't really vote.
Yes.
It's a wonderful right and everyone should take advantage of it.
I'm sorry, there's a lot of, I think it's wind.
Maybe you could get indoors.
So you're talking about the immigration?
Yes, sir.
And how a lot of the politicians supported it
and let it come in and they didn't
rebuild. So I know one aspect of it,
that when they were in the hotels, it was $25
per person per meal per day.
So let's make the math simple. Let's say family of four,
That's $25 each, that's 100 a day times three,
that's 300 a day times seven,
that's where your money is being spent.
What do you spend a week for groceries?
Are you people out there when you go vote today?
What can't you afford to spend for
groceries? I could say, that's all I wanna say,
vote with your pocketbook, thank you.
Thank you, my friend. I hung in there,
I knew that was gonna be a good call. See,
We have caller ID here and it usually.
Plays in favor of the caller,
because if I've heard you before, I got a pretty good memory.
If you've been a good caller,
and then we get some static on the line, I'll usually hang in
there with you, because I know you're going
to have a valuable point to make, even if I don't
always agree with it, which I happen to agree with that point.
Guys, this is your opportunity
to say no to the open borders and all of that stuff,
and using your tax dollars to fund illegal
Legal migration into the Massachusetts region.
And like that gentleman said, paying for DoorDash,
laundry service and hotel rooms.
It's just, just, it's like it.
It's stunning to imagine the billions of dollars
that went out the door. And the only fact that
matters is that Donald Trump closed the border.
And how did he do it? He got elected. And how did
he do it? He got a million dollars from Mike Minogue,
which stabilized the Massachusetts economy, okay
Stabilized it, because the influx of illegal aliens stopped.
You can credit Mike Minogue with that,
and you should reward him with a vote.
We'll be right back.
Welcome back to the program.
Boy, I'm so excited.
I just got some text message from a good friend of mine, Kenny,
who votes in Ward 3, nice turnout up there.
All throughout Fairhaven, a great turnout,
I can imagine Mattapoisett and Marion and
Wareham having great turnout as well.
Freetown, I know you're having a good turnout.
You got to choose on a congressman out there.
There actually is a Republican opponent
running against Jake Auchincloss.
It's kind of sad because he never reached out to me,
never reached out to Tom Hodgson,
never reached out to Lenny Mills Jr.,
who's in Rehoboth, which is Auchincloss' district.
I'm going to turn it over to
So I don't know if he's a real candidate or not, to tell you the truth.
We got a couple of minutes left. We got people here on hold.
Get out and vote. Good morning. Thanks for holding.
Hi, good morning. Hello.
I'm doing well. How are you?
I'm doing okay. Calling in regards to voting.
Yes.
Have other people called in as far
as having issues of ballot machines breaking down?
Yes, we have a story at wbsm.com. What was your issue?
My husband and I went before 8 a.m. to Buttonwood Park Warming House
and we cast our votes and we were told they were just going to sit
in the machine until somebody from City Hall came down with a key
or to fix the machine.
We had to leave. We had to go to work
or we would have stayed to see what actually happened after we left.
Oh, that's really unfortunate, isn't it?
It's very disappointing, very frustrating.
Yeah, thanks for the call.
Thanks for the information.
Yeah, we've got a story up.
Tim just wrote it at WBSM.com
on what is being referred to as minor technical problems.
We'll see how that goes for the rest of the day.
Feel free to call in to Barry if you have problems
anywhere in the sound of our voice.
Coming up next after me, the great Barry Richard.
Then after that, the irreplaceable Howie Carr.
Well, sometimes they do replace him with Tom Shattuck,
my former boss at Boston Herald Radio.
Good man, Tom Shattuck.
And Barry's coming up next.
So get out and vote.
If you haven't voted, guys, like that caller,
previous caller said, vote for your wallet.
Money is, in some respects, freedom.
And God willing, I'll be back tomorrow.
I'm going to go.
