Now, The Barry Richards Show.
All righty, welcome back.
It is 2.07 on a Tuesday, Wednesday afternoon.
You know, Maura Healey said something back in the...
Uh, gee, I don't remember if she was AG or if she was a early governor.
I guess it was, uh, no, she was AG still,
uh, when the, the riots were happening in
the summer of love, right?
Uh, 2020, the summer of George Floyd.
And it was controversial and it should have
been controversial in the, in the election.
And it wasn't because it was another issue that was never raised.
But when she said America is burning, but that's how forests grow.
Remember that?
You know, there is truth to that.
And the way it was applied.
It was wrong, and I think a lot of people were upset by that.
But if you want to take that and apply it
to what happened in Congress yesterday,
to me it makes sense.
Congress is burning, but that's how forests grow.
And, you know, when a forest fire happens, what does it do?
It weeds out, thins out the brush, the trees,
make room for new ones to grow up.
And so I'll be 100% honest with you.
I'm not too upset that some of the Republicans
that were shown the door were shown the door.
Donald Trump won in a massive landslide in 2024,
and yet many of the Republicans refused to even work with him
and refused to pass the agenda that he won a landslide victory on.
And so a lot of Republicans were thinned out,
but we need to thin out some more.
It's unfortunate it had to happen this way,
but not maybe through the primary system.
But Donald Trump's still president this morning.
Donald Trump's not going anywhere.
He's going to be there for the next two years.
And he will be, through executive order,
doing the things that he needs to do.
He will veto legislation that gets approved by the Congress.
But you don't have to worry about that.
Congress does nothing.
When was the last time Congress passed
a bill of any significance, right?
And the Democrats, who was just looking at the TV over
my shoulder here during the, it's still up there,
Dems squabble over how to probe Trump administration.
So they won last night.
They haven't even taken office yet, and they're already infighting
over how they're going to prosecute the Trump administration.
So that's their priority going into the new year.
Let him have at it.
I'm all for it.
Let him do it.
Because apparently they don't understand
that the public's sick of that stuff.
That's why they lost in 2024.
That's a big part of the reason why they lost.
So their big priority right now
is to debate how they're going to get Trump.
They're not going to go very far.
So Trump is president for the next two years.
J.D. Vance is vice president.
Marco Rubio is the...
Um, well, here you got how many jobs does he have
that poor guy right now?
Main job, though, is the secretary of state.
They're going to be in those positions.
They're going to continue working just as they did.
And I'm just going to get
the war over in Iran.
No question.
And he's got to get inflation under control.
And I think a lot of that will fall
into place with Iran when Iran wraps up.
But the Democrats...
You know, we're not talking about a bunch of people
who all are collectively on the same page here, are we?
I mean, we are talking about extreme radical wings
of the Democrat Party coming at things from different directions.
And we're talking about, you know, still some moderate Democrats
and even got progressive Democrats are like so to the right now.
So yesterday's news based on what we're seeing here
with the DSA and stuff like that.
So the Democrats don't have it all together.
The Democrats are going to spend the next two years fighting
for control and trying to position their people for.
A presidential run in 2028.
That's pretty much what we're going to be focused on.
Of course, you're going to have congressional hearings into Trump
and into this, that, and the other thing that are going to go nowhere.
Remember all the congressional hearings
that we had before that went nowhere, right?
All of the investigations into Hillary Clinton,
all of the investigations into James Comey,
all the investigations into even Donald Trump.
All of it went nowhere.
It's just a waste of time and money.
So that's what we're going to see for the next two years.
I'm not sure the American people...
Made such a...
A huge change in Congress just to continue
on the same way with the same stuff.
I think they want stuff to get done.
People are upset.
Even Republicans like myself.
I'm a Republican kind of sort of.
I'm not a Republican.
I don't belong to the party.
But I mean, I again, as I've stated,
while I'm independent, you have you have two choices.
You can either work with the Democrats or the Republicans.
The Democrats are not doing anything that in any way interests me.
So the Republicans, I align myself more with these days.
And the SAVE Act, for example, the Republicans should have gotten
the SAVE Act and should have been codified, should have been passed.
They should have gotten rid of the.
The, um, and.
Should have gotten rid of the,
I just totally in the last hour forgot this.
I've been on most of the night myself.
I don't know about you, but watching,
between watching returns, the filibuster, they should
have gotten rid of the filibuster
while they had a chance, gotten the entire agenda.
They didn't do it.
Congress has been dysfunctional.
The Republican Party in Washington has been dysfunctional.
So the Republicans will have a chance in two years
to elect new House members, new senators,
and a new president.
Two years is a long time.
So you got to keep the spirit.
You got to keep the faith.
And you got to keep supporting your president.
And you got to keep staying MAGA.
But you got to get out and vote, too.
I mean, that's the least of it all.
All right, 508-996-0500.
Thanks for hanging on.
You're up next on WBSN.
Oh, Barry, stop saying that MAGA stuff.
That is dead.
That is dead.
That is gone.
What's gone?
MAGA?
MAGA's gone.
Oh, MAGA's never gone away.
MAGA's here forever.
I am the king of MAGA.
Oh, hey, I know you are.
That's why I'm going at you.
Let me just say this.
Let me just say this, Barry.
I was listening to you earlier, and I think you're absolutely right.
And I called you yesterday, and I told you.
I asked you that, you know, if you thought a lot of people
that came out would be better for the Republicans,
and I disagree with you, and I was right.
As far as you can see right across the whole country,
and I knew this was going to happen, people...
are tired of Trump. They really are.
They are sick and tired of Trump. They're Trumped out.
You know, they're tired of listening about the reflection pool
and the White House goal
and all these things that don't really matter to them.
They're not things that don't matter,
but they're not things that are high on the priority list.
And people are just tired of him.
And I think the Republican Party within this,
their ranks, if they really was truthful,
They tried him too.
Um, he didn't, he hurt his constituents.
He didn't help them.
He didn't help them at all.
I think that all that run around that he did
in all these different states, it hurt them.
As you can see, it wasn't just Massachusetts.
It was right across the board.
Yeah, you got to cut Massachusetts out because we don't,
we don't play in the same game that
the other states do.
Look, he helped Florida.
Look it, you know, in the states where Trump has had cooperation
in getting his agenda adopted, he had a little problem.
Florida.
All right.
Um,
What about Sarah Huckabee Sanders was reelected to another term.
It's the states where he's had problems
with Republicans that things didn't go too well.
And, you know, there are other factors, too.
We mentioned, you know,
the blue wave that moved into places like Texas and even into Florida.
Some sections, a lot of people from New York moved down to Florida.
A lot of people from Massachusetts moved down to Florida.
They didn't change their politics.
They just voted for Florida Democrats.
That's all.
Even the people in Florida that won, you could see.
That how much Trump won before
and how much these people just edged by this time.
Yeah, but Trump wasn't on the ballot.
If Trump was on the ballot, then I'd agree with you.
Trump, nobody was going out to vote.
If Trump was on, wait a minute, hold on, hold on.
If Trump was on the ballot
and people were being asked to go out yesterday and vote for Trump,
I think you would have seen a big turnout.
I think Trump would have won and he would have pulled
some Republicans up by, you know, by his coattails.
Well, we both have our own opinions, and that's all it is,
is an opinion, because it never happened.
Right. But honestly, Barry, I mean,
I know we disagree on this part, but I really think that he hurt.
You know, that's why a lot of those governors.
Oh, Trump did.
I've been saying this since 12 o'clock.
Trump definitely had an impact on a lot of what happened last night.
The war hurt.
Yeah, in a negative way, though.
Oh, yeah.
No, I mean, the war hurt.
The, you know, inflation hurt.
Gas prices hurt.
And people paid back.
But there are also people out there.
Who voted against Republicans
because they're mad at Republicans and these are people that
normally vote for Republicans.
I don't feel badly for some of these Republicans that lost.
Hispanics went back,
the blacks that defected and went with Trump last time went back.
The ones in the middle of the road went back.
Yeah, but that's, you can't, that's not a fair way to do that.
The blacks went and voted for Trump.
They didn't, Trump wasn't on the ballot last night.
As much as I know the Democrats are trying
to say Trump was on the ballot last night,
he wasn't on the ballot last night.
If Trump was on the ballot,
we would have a totally different election night.
He was the one that kept on saying,
just assume that I'm on the ballot and vote.
Right, but that was a strategy and it didn't work, obviously.
It didn't work.
Yeah, it didn't work.
And.
Barry, can I say one thing before we get off?
Because I know the last one won't talk to you.
I said this to you before.
The only reason why Donald Trump is sitting
in office right now is because of one thing.
I mean, it is because of immigration.
Biden made a mess of the immigration and people were very,
very angry and they showed it
at the polls.
They came out and they voted again.
Yeah, but you didn't vote for Trump, you've never voted for Trump.
So how do you know what motivated people to vote for Trump?
I voted for Trump three times
and I can tell you why I voted for Trump and it wasn't the
only reason was immigration, that was a part of it.
Also, his expertise in the economy.
He's done a great job with the economy.
Unfortunately, he's let inflation get out of control.
Everybody is making more money.
Wages are up.
Taxes are down.
But inflation is eating into it.
Well, because it's a fact.
Look it up.
Yeah, it went.
Wages are up.
Wages are up.
Taxes are down.
The only reason people are having a tough time
is because inflation is cutting into that.
Okay, then if you made a few more dollars under
this administration, right?
And it's a wash because...
Well, isn't that what I just said?
I said the economy is strong,
but we have inflation that's higher than it should be.
And that inflation is cutting into what people are bringing home.
Okay, we'll call it a wash, all right?
So let me just say this because I know
you want to get me up here, right?
Yeah, I got three other calls here I got to get to.
The reason why I say immigration is because that was the lead thing
that people, when they went to the polls, voted on.
Because everybody said, I was angry.
That was a part of it.
That was only one part of it.
But it was big.
It was real big.
It was an important part.
Yes, it absolutely was an important part.
But you know what another important part was?
No more forever wars.
Yeah, well, he blew that too.
Well, we got a forever war, it seems, right?
So that hurt the people at the polls last night.
Any senators that defended Trump going into Iran
and then maybe blocked the Democrat efforts to bring the troops home?
There were several votes in the Senate.
Republicans blocked those.
Those Republicans paid a price.
Well, I'll let you go.
I will leave you with this, though.
I'm just going to say this, and we'll talk to you again.
Donald Trump is all washed up.
Yeah, I don't think so.
Donald Trump's got two more years, and he's going to do a lot.
He's got a lot more to do.
And, you know, I mean, a lot can happen.
Do you remember the first two years of the Reagan administration?
First two years of the Reagan administration,
we had horrible inflation.
And the economy sucked.
We were coming out of the Jimmy Carter years
when we had double-digit interest rates
and so on and so forth.
It took two years.
Reagan ran on fixing the economy,
and it took him two years to do it.
His poll numbers fell through the floor.
He lost the midterms.
And then he came back in the last two years,
and he fixed the economy like nobody's business.
And that's one of the things that he's best known for
was his economics.
And, you know, later on, Bush.
And then Clinton enjoyed some good years because of the Reagan
economic doctrine that, by the way, Bush called voodoo economics.
And then, you know, but so two more years, a lot can happen.
A lot is going to happen.
And we'll see.
And I look forward to talking to you about it.
Thank you, my friend.
I got to hold you next.
I got to get the next caller on.
508-996-0500.
You're up next on WBSN.
Hello.
Hi.
Hi, can you say who all the local winners were?
I didn't catch any of that.
Well, what race are you interested in?
All of them.
Senator, reps, all of them.
Well, yeah, all the incumbents won.
Every incumbent won with the exception
of Steve Ouellette, state rep in Westport.
Jesse St. Joliet, the Republican challenger, beat him.
Other than that, all the incumbents won.
Wow.
Okay. Thank you. You're welcome. 508-996-0500.
Let me get a break in. Your calls are important
and they're next right here on WBSN.
Statistics show roughly 20 veterans die by suicide every
single day. And every day, more than 1,000 dogs are euthanized.
After the Navy, I became a recluse.
I felt like I was still in combat mode. I felt lost and confused.

Back to Barry Richard on WBSM.
Call 508-996-0500.
All righty, welcome back.
It is 2.26 on a Wednesday afternoon.
Is anybody surprised by the way any of this went yesterday?
Uh, whether it be the national or the state,
the ballot questions, uh, here in Massachusetts,
uh, did you expect one to go one way and it went another,
um, you know, anything, uh,
did you expect Minogue to do better than he did,
or did you expect Deaton to do well?
Uh, and he didn't, uh, any, any surprises?
508-996-0500.
Thanks for hanging on.
You're next in WBSN.
Hey, Barry, this is Sam calling.
Hi.
How are you doing?
Good. How are you?
I used to be the regular caller to Chris McCarthy's show.
I used to be Sam, the unofficial co-host.
But I want you to hear my opinion about what I think has happened
in the United States here.
You know, if we look back a few years ago, they opened up the borders.
It was on the evening news every night with thousands
and thousands of people coming across the borders.
And nobody did anything about it.
And, you know, along with that was the promise.
They promised people that they were going
to have a place in the United States.
And as they made their way up to Massachusetts,
we gave those people that came into the country driver's licenses.
We also signed them up to vote.
And, you know, whether or not they ever processed through
the court systems or not is another story.
But this is just payback.
This is just them getting their money back.
By letting everybody in, forcing the country into the democratic way,
and allowing them to vote for them over and over.
And just, you know, if you just keep stacking the deck with aces,
eventually the aces are going to be dealt out.
And that's what I think has happened.
You know, I don't think it's got anything to do with Minogue.
I just think they knew that they had doubled up
on all the voters for this state.
And had so many Democrats.
And no, because I mean, most people are busy.
A lot of people don't pay attention to anything.
And, you know, I was hoping
and praying that we were going to have a change.
And, you know, to see the way that they voted, even on the questions.
I mean, obviously people didn't
understand what question nine was about.
Because all they saw in their mind was.
Oh, they want to take away and let guns be legal.
And, you know, people don't read this stuff.
They don't understand what it's about.
So they vote.
And I just, I'm so frustrated today that I don't know what to do.
Don't be frustrated.
You got to, you got to take.
The lessons that we learned yesterday
and we got to and we got to move forward.
I mean, this is a long this is a long field battle where,
you know, you lose you lose a battle,
but you got to keep fighting the war and you learn from it.
Now, we had you know, I keep saying this.
We had some Republicans, the Republican, you know,
I'm texting with my son throughout the show today.
He lives down in Washington and, you know, he's he's conservative.
And he's like, boy, you know, I'm disappointed
that the Republicans lost.
And I'm telling him, look, the Republicans lost
because the Republicans didn't do anything.
I mean, during Trump's two years in office,
what did the Republicans do?
He had to fight with him on everything.
How many executive orders did Trump write?
Many of them, right?
Many, many, many.
And how many of them did he get, you know, codified into law?
Probably two.
You know, the Republicans would not pass the SAVE Act,
even though 85% of Americans wanted it.
And that included Democrats, blacks, Hispanics,
you know, Japanese guys on little motorcycles.
Everybody wanted it.
And the Republicans wouldn't do it.
So the public was not, you got to think about,
everybody's thinking about this in black and white.
So the Republicans lose, so it's Trump's fault.
Well, the Republicans lose for various reasons.
They did not deliver.
They did no work.
All of the opportunities that they had to,
as I've been mentioning, getting rid of the
filibuster so that they could get all
of Trump's agenda through before the midterms even got
here, they didn't do any of that.
And people are frustrated because they elected Trump in a landslide.
Two years ago, and they wanted his agenda adopted,
and the legislature under John Thune
and Mike Johnson couldn't get it done, and people are angry about that,
so they went after Republicans for that, too.
It's not just because of the war.
It's not just because of Trump.
There are many different reasons why people voted the way they did,
and there's a lot of reasons why people stayed home yesterday,
and the people that stayed home.
Yeah, when you stay home, you elect the...
You elect the incumbents.
It's as simple as that.
How do we have a chance with Maura Healey still in charge?
How do we have a chance of being able to afford electricity and gas?
Well, you know, Maura Healey's got four years and then she's gone.
Okay.
It's going to be a lousy four years.
Look, we went through eight years of Barack Obama, right?
I'm worried about making it through the winter.
Yeah, well, you know, I get that.
No, I understand that.
Me too.
I don't have four years.
Yeah, well, you know...
That's the truth of it.
I don't have four years to wait.
Yeah, I get that.
I mean, we all have.
But we got to speak out.
See, the problem is when people do not participate.
And I'm not saying you.
I don't know whether you voted or not.
I assume you did.
I voted.
Yeah, there's a lot of people that didn't.
I mean, we had New Bedford, 32% turnout.
That means what?
Uh, 60, what did I say?
32, 68% did not vote.
68% of eligible voters in New Bedford sat
on their hands yesterday and they're going
to bitch and call me every day about their heating bills.
Yeah, I know.
But, but it's almost like you didn't even make a difference because.
All the people that, I mean, the Republican Party thought that Minogue
was doing well, you know, and I just don't understand how.
Because the Republican Party is dysfunctional in Massachusetts.
Do you remember back in April when they had the convention
and it was all screwed up and it was, you know, it was.
Hours late and people left without even voting.
And then you had, you know,
Mike Minogue was the guy and everybody turned on short sleeve.
You got to drop out now.
You got to drop out in short sleeve saying,
well, wait, I got a constitutional right.
I can run if I want.
And then we had Anne Brensley.
What happened?
And then we had Anne.
Hold on.
Let me finish.
And we had Anne Brensley.
Then we had Anne Manning Martin.
And then we had.
The Walsh and we had, you know, all of these different scandals.
And unfortunately, Sean Oliveira had his thing.
And so the you know, the the Republican Party
is in dire shape in terms of its leadership.
Nobody apparently told Mike Minogue,
you got to campaign if you want to win.
Yeah, I believe that was, that got started way too late, and I think,
yeah, right, he didn't, he didn't get out and speak to the people,
he didn't run the ads early enough, and he was being too nice,
you know, he didn't bring out the parts of what she's done
to ruin this state, and make it so unaffordable, I mean.
Well, see, that's the thing.
If you are suffering like you are,
and you're wondering about if you're going
to make it through the next four years,
you want a guy that's going to be on your street,
you know, giving speeches and saying,
I'm here to fight for you.
And you're going to energize and excite the people to go out and vote.
If you don't do that, people are going to stay home.
And that's exactly what they did.
They stayed home.
They didn't go out and vote for Mike Minogue.
And they just didn't turn out.
32%.
That's abysmal.
If we had 62%, Mike Minogue would have won.
But how do you convince the people
that are still voting for Maura Healey?
What?
Well, Maura Healey's base is always going to vote for her.
Maura Healey's base is always going to vote for her.
Who votes for Maura Healey?
OK, you got the progressives, right?
You got the the trans people.
You got the gay people.
You got the you know, all of the people
that she puts in all the anti-ICE people and all
of these people, the one issue, the pro-abortion people.
Those are the people that are always going to vote for Maura Healey.
She breaks them down into little groups
and then she panders to them and then they vote
for her because they're one issue candidates.
You got somebody that's anti-ICE, for example,
they care about the economy, but that's not
driving their vote.
What's driving the vote is Maura Healey said
she's gonna fight ICE and that's all I gotta
go vote for Maura Healey.
They don't think of the bigger picture.
And so Maura Healey is always gonna have that base.
She hasn't done anything in the last four years to lower our bills.
She hasn't done anything to fight
for us like she says she's been doing on these campaigns.
Why hasn't she done it yet?
And why don't people ask themselves that question?
Why are we in the state that we're in?
Why are we?
Well, you know why?
Because she goes on TV and she says, well, you know,
we're trying hard to lower your energy rates.
But Donald Trump and this guy here likes Donald Trump.
And you got it.
So if that goes unanswered.
And the media repeats all of that stuff, which they do.
You know, the media writes stories that Donald Trump
is cutting people off of, you know, off of food stamps.
But they don't tell you that the people that are being cut off
of the food stamps, about 200,000 of them, are able-bodied adults
between the ages of 19 and 64 that should be out there working.
I suppose if you can't separate
the Donald Trump that's on TV being a jerk.
To the Donald Trump that, you know,
is probably doing the right things behind the scenes.
And, you know, I wish I could just reach through the TV sometimes
and just tell him to shut his mouth
and not react to some of the things that they set him up for.
You know what? I didn't even watch the TV. I can't remember.
Other than a football game, I can't even remember
the last time I watched election coverage last night.
But other than a football game, I don't even put my TV on. It's mine.
Poison. It's designed to
addict you to it. Just like your
cell phone is designed to addict you to it.
I don't put it on anymore. I don't
care what Donald Trump says about, hey,
the reflecting pool, they should name it after me.
That means nothing to me. What did
Donald Trump do about wages? He
increased our wages. What did he do about our taxes?
He cut our taxes. What did he do
about jobs? He brought more companies
back to the United States through his tariffs.
You know, those are the kind
of things that I care about. What's he doing for the fishing industry?
Three or four major
things he's just done for the fishing industry
in New Bedford that's going to help us.
That's what I care about. I don't care
about whether Donald Trump talks about the reflecting
pool and all. That's the kind of stuff
that the media focuses on
because they want you to think the guy's a buffoon
and he's not a buffoon. He's a very smart
guy and he's a very good president.
But the wisecracks that he gives
the stupid things that he
says.
Don't pay attention to it.
We all say stupid stuff.
I cannot pay attention.
I'm good at not paying attention to that.
But it's the people that are voting.
The average Joe out there that doesn't see beyond
the stupidity that he has up front.
And how he's so arrogant.
And has to be number one in the classroom.
You know, or he's going to take his ball and go home.
I can live with that.
And I can work around that.
And that's why I voted for him.
Because that stuff doesn't bother me.
If he wants to show that he's got the best of whatever.
It's other people that take that and say, oh, he's such a jerk,
and oh, he just talks bad about everybody, and Trump's a bad man,
because they can't see beyond the outer covering of how he's just
an arrogant jerk who's been spoiled all his life
and has been given everything he's ever had.
Maybe he's worked for it, too, but if I was given a start like he had,
I'm sure I could be successful,
and any one of us have started out with a half a billion dollars.
We'd probably be able to turn that into something.
Well, you know, it is completely within your right to do so.
But what you are doing is you are allowing things.
Thanks,
To creep into your assessment of who
the president is or how he's doing his job.
And this can be true of any president, not just Donald Trump.
You've got to, you know, we're all human beings
and we all have our faults and our frailties or whatever.
But you've got to measure somebody by what they do for you.
guys.
And, you know, I don't, all that other stuff I don't care about.
You know, I never liked Donald Trump because I thought he was a buffoon
and I thought he was bombastic and everything else.
I agree.
And then that April when he came down the elevator.
At the escalator at Trump Tower,
and I actually listened to the man talk, other than saying, oh, fire!
And, you know, then I listened to him, and I said,
this guy, this guy is on to something here.
He's on, he's talking to me.
I felt as though he was talking to me.
He's talking about the issues that I care about
that nobody else has ever talked about before
and giving plans for what he was going to do about it.
So, you know what?
I dismissed the, you know, the funny hair
and the, you know, fired and, you know,
little jab and all that kind of stuff.
It didn't mean anything to me.
It's just noise.
I never watched his show.
I don't, I never even.
No, I never, I never did.
I knew he had a show.
Yeah.
But I, you know, that's all I knew.
He had a show on TV.
That's all I knew about him.
Yeah.
But, you know, somebody like, yeah, I mean, every single
president has had their ways or their mannerisms or whatever.
I mean, God, John Kennedy, who's supposedly a saint,
they want him up on, you know, Mount Rushmore.
He was addicted to drugs.
You know, he laid every woman that he could find,
you know, in his wife's house and so on and so forth.
I mean, these are all, you know,
but for some reason we judge Trump's character and we don't.
We don't ever judge the character of these other people.
And I never understood why we hold Donald Trump
to a different standard than we hold the other people to.
I'm just very worried about the next couple of years before we...
I think it's going to be a good couple of years.
I think this is probably going
to be Trump's most productive two years coming up.
Well, Maura Healey said it right.
If you can afford to live here, it's a great place to live.
But unfortunately, if she doesn't make some changes and cut these bills
the other direction, I'm not going to be able to afford to live here.
I mean, I'm just I was hoping and praying that something was going
to happen to cut into this ridiculousness that's going on with our gas
and electric and fuel bills and gasoline bills.
And, you know, you can't blame it all on the war.
You can't blame it all on Trump.
No, you can't because the gas
or the electricity prices were the highest in the country before
the war for two years when Maura Healey was.
And even before that, you know, when Charlie Baker was in Deval
Patrick, we had the highest utility rates in the entire country.
So long before the war. But it's just a convenient. It's politics
and politics is, you know, it's all fear and love and politics.
Right. I got to hold you, my friend. Good call.
I appreciate it. 508-996-0500 is the number.
And I think you are next on WBSM. Thanks for hanging on.
Hi, Barry.
Hi.
I'm happy to hear you being so positive.
I wish I could be as positive as you today,
because today I am just totally.
I'm disgusted, not only at this state, but nationwide,
and what I saw the people who were elected and put in office.
You can be disgusted, Kathy, but you've got to look forward
and you've got to say, okay, fine, this happened.
What can we do about it and how can we fix it?
And that's what we've got to do.
Otherwise, what happens is we have a whole other group
of people that then becomes disenfranchised and doesn't vote.
So we need to.
Find a way forward from here.
And I don't think that this is going
to be as bad as we thought it was going to be.
Massachusetts, we've been living this way anyway.
So, unfortunately, we got Jesse up there, right?
So there's some progress.
Well, we got one, but there are a lot of,
well, let me tell you something.
In the town of Rochester, we were, I worked the polls.
I was there until 10 of 2 this morning, okay?
Because people don't have any clue as to what,
now we have people who mail in all their votes.
They vote in person.
This is costing the towns and cities of this state a fortune
because people have no idea how much more work is involved in this.
We had to enter every single ballot by hand
in this machine that was slow as molasses.
We had lines in Rochester.
I think the turnout, I haven't seen the exact numbers, but I would
venture to say the turnout in Rochester was around 90 to 95 percent.
Wow.
Okay.
It was unbelievable.
What drove the what drove the vote down the side of the building?
And what drove the turnout?
What drove it?
Well, I don't know.
I really don't know.
That's all I kept saying.
I mean, some of these people who are working there,
like one woman, she's been doing this
for 11 years.
She could not believe the turnout.
I said, well, there's something that motivated people to get out.
What happened from what I could see is a lot
of the Democrats sent in their ballots early.
They voted early because a lot of the mail-ins were.
A lot of, you know, Democratic candidates.
Yeah.
And I mean, the other thing that I'm totally disgusted
on are the ballot questions.
I mean, I cannot believe these idiots
in this state voted to keep Maura Healey's gun control.
I mean, this is what I'm saying.
We're so screwed.
I mean, the only the only two ballot questions
that agreed with the conservatives was question one.
Thank you, everyone.
And
Question three.
.
And that was it.
We are waiting for some Supreme Court rulings on that gun control bill
and in other cases.
So everything is not lost.
We have to push our efforts in that direction now.
And we have to depend on the courts.
But we can't just throw our hands up in the air and say that.
I saw so many people yesterday, oh,
that's the end of the world on social media.
It's not the end of the world.
I mean, we've had tough losses before.
We lost to Obama twice, right?
And we lost to Joe Biden, for crying out loud.
So, you know, I mean, we just got to pick up the pieces and move on.
I think we have an opportunity here right now
in the next two years to build up.
A strong, good, quality cadre of candidates.
A lot of these candidates we're running
in some of these races were bad candidates.
Like Ken Paxton.
Shouldn't have been the candidate, but he was.
We got a chance.
Build up some candidates and come back at it in two years.
The Democrats are going to be ripping each
other's hair out over the next two years
over who's in control and what their priorities should be.
And should we spend our time impeaching Trump?
Or should we actually do something for the people?
Let the people watch that.
We took the power away from the Democrats in 2024
because they didn't know how to use it.
So now they got it back.
So let the people watch what they do with it.
And let's see who they put up to run for 2028.
Thank you.
And I think that this could actually strengthen the Republican Party.
We got rid of Susan Collins.
We got rid of some other rhinos.
Let's see if we can get some good, strong candidates out there
for two years from now and continue to build.
Well, I agree with you, Susan Collins.
I have no, I could care less about
her because she was the ultimate rhino.
However, like you say, Ken Paxton wasn't a good candidate.
But what the hell made Tallarico better?
Who's the better of the two?
Well, here's the problem, Kathy.
You know, with the blue state governors
that have been driving their populations out,
they've all moved to Texas.
Right. That's why Florida lost a couple of seats last night,
too, in the House, because all of these people that went
to Florida from all of the blue states, they all left Illinois,
Massachusetts, New York, went down to Florida, said, oh,
man, I'm so glad I'm away from those repressive Democrats.
And what do they do? They vote a Democrat in the same thing
and happened in Texas.
They all went from from California.
They did the same thing in Colorado a couple of years ago.
There you go.
But they've just...
They've done the same thing here, Barry.
That's why we have so much problems in this state,
because we've imported in the town of Rochester,
we have all these people moving in, buying condominiums from Cambridge,
from Cape Cod, from California, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania.
They're all coming here.
So that they can afford to buy a condominium that costs $689,000
and pay a $400 a month HOA fee.
But the people like the elderly
who are living in these towns can't afford it.
So they're going to be driven out.
Can they afford to be here for four more years?
I don't know.
I don't think so.
Because things aren't going to get better
with more Ron Healy in office.
They're only going to get worse.
Everything's going to go up.
And who can afford that?
Really, for the elderly people,
they are going to have a really tough time.
Can they afford to live here for another four years?
Well, you know, people need to.
People need to get busy.
You know what?
When the Democrats don't like what's going on, what do they do?
They have no king's rallies.
They protest.
They hey, hey, ho, ho.
They go to the statehouse.
They do all of these things.
When Republicans don't like what's going on, what do they do?
They stop voting.
They withdraw.
And they don't do anything.
Yes, they do, Trump.
Barry, I agree with you 100% because I saw it with my own eyes.
You know, last Saturday, holding signs,
Mark Sylvia had dozens of people holding his signs
and the Republicans had the same little handful
of about 10 or 12 people.
Yeah.
So that is, I agree with you.
You get out of what you put into, right?
And that's exactly what it is.
So over the next four years, we've got to get loud.
We've got to get vocal.
Maura Healey backs away from that pipeline project.
We got to go and let her know we don't like that.
You know, Maura Healey needs to hear from us.
She needs to get email.
She needs to get letters.
She needs to see our faces outside of the statehouse.
She needs to see us wherever we go.
You know, every time I know that Maura Healey is going
to be in the area, I always mention it on the air.
So that some folks will go to, but do they go?
No, nobody ever goes and confronts her.
And, you know, and I'm not talking about violence
or I'm not talking about being vulgar and nasty or whatever.
Be respectful, but make sure she understands
that we don't support her policies.
And that's what you got to do.
You got to keep putting pressure on them.
You got to write letters to Mark Sylvia and,
you know, you got to write letters to.
Tony Cabral, you've got to write letters to all of these people
and follow through on it.
It's not enough to send somebody an email letter,
but you've got to follow through.
You've got to protest their offices.
You know, that time that I mentioned to people, instead of protesting
the closing of Fire Station 9 at City Hall, go protest Tony Cabral.
What did Tony Cabral do?
All of a sudden, Tony Cabral learned about the issue,
and he went to the fire station.
Right. When they know there's pressure on them.
All of those guys are up in two years again, too.
We've got two years to learn, to rebuild, come up
with better candidates, come up with a better strategy and execute it.
Or everything that happened yesterday
would have been for naught. Quick break.
We're coming right back. This portion of programming
on WBSN brought to you by South Coast Health Advanced Medicine.
More. How's Tommy doing now? Much better. You said it was asthma.
Yeah, he started with this cough, and then he was wheezing.
That's terrifying.
Doctors said hidden triggers can make it worse.
Things like dust, mold, and even pests.
Pests?
Yeah, droppings and allergens from cockroaches and rodents
can seriously impact children with asthma or allergies.
I had no idea.
We're making sure our home stays pest-free.
Don't let pests put your family's health at risk.

You're up next on WBSN.
Good afternoon.
Hey, Barry.
You know, it's not a blue wave.
It's a communist tidal wave.
America has become a banana republic, kangaroo court
with activist judges, puppet candidates that are running around.
We should not lose hope.
We should not.
Be afraid and we should not run for the hills because this communist
tidal wave is going to spread throughout the whole world.
A one world order, no boundaries, no borders.
We lost our young guys over there overseas,
pilots in the tanks, on the battlefields.
And now it's come to America, asymmetrical warfare,
psychological warfare, indoctrination on a massive scale.
And then question eight was for the pot shops.
Keep the young full of pot, then dumb down and take away your weapons.
And I'm going to say what some of the World War II veterans forgot
to tell or didn't want to tell their kids.
Yeah, you got to wake up.
This whole thing, it's not going to be tanks
and bombers and fighter planes and standing armies.
It's going to be the enemy within.
This is a tidal wave.
And if people think they're going to run for the mountains
or the Carolinas, they're going to run away for this.
No, I agree with you, and I got to hit
the brake here, but I agree with you.
But we have actually been offered an opportunity,
and we shouldn't squander it,
because now we get to sit back for the next two years
and see what the Democrats have to offer.
They are on display now. They're in charge.
We get to see what the DSA is all about,
and we get to see what the Democrats have in mind
and what their plans are for 2028.
So it's up to us to watch this.
This is going to be a learning experience.
You know something else, Barry, that the elderly people that in the
nursing homes that show that no better, they should know better club,
you know, with donuts and pizzas and singing karaoke
and all that baloney and falling for these these communists.
Shame on you. Shame on you on what they're doing to our generation.
Wake up. This is no better club.
When are people going to smarten up?
I don't know.
That's a good question.
Thank you, my friend.
508-996-0500 is the phone number.
And, I mean, that's a good question.
When are people going to smarten up?
I've been asking that question for a lot of years.
And I think a lot of people have been as well.
But, again, you know, all hope is not lost.
We suffered a...
We just suffered some blows yesterday.
There's no question about it.
Massachusetts, again, you got to cut
that out from the rest of the, in New York.
You know, you got to cut out New York and Massachusetts.
I mean, these are blue states that aren't
going anywhere, anywhere, right?
Kathy Hochul, who was shocked
that Kathy Hochul got reelected in New York, right?
Right.
Um,
But we've got now to learn from what we did.
Look, when Trump got in the first time,
he shook loose a lot of the rhinos, the swamp people.
And the Republicans and during this term,
he's he's shaken loose more of them.
More will let go.
Yesterday gives us a chance to fill the gaps with some
good quality conservative candidates to run.
And let me just say to Chester, Tim, don't give up, Chester.
You fought a good race.
Go again in two years.
Go again in two years.
Look, St.
Jalais, right?
Well, that was in two years.
St.
Jalais went at him.
Boom, knocked him right out.
These people are not invincible.
And to anybody else out there who was looking at this and saying,
gee, I wanted to run, but I'm glad I didn't,
and I don't think I'll ever run because we'll never.
St. Gilles made a crack, made a hole,
and the rest of you guys now need to follow him in.
And you need to run for these offices.
It's the only way.
But you've got to get out and vote, people.
You've got to get out and vote for these folks.
All right, quick break.
All right, time to wrap it up for today.
But, you know, I keep saying this is
a learning experience, and let it be.
We need to look at the Democrat playbook and see what do they do right.
How do they do this stuff, right?
We've got two years to get out there
and to get every single person that we can find registered to vote.
Okay, and then get them involved in an activity.
Get them involved.
Get them on a date.
