You decide. First tonight at 9, the midterm elections are over,
but all of the races have not yet been counted,
and we're tracking the 2026 midterm elections.
Taking a live look behind us here at the Maricopa County Tabulation
Center, more than 200,000 ballots are still being counted.
We want to take now a look at the latest results,
and we want to start with Superintendent of Public Instruction.
It has not been called yet,
but Democrat Teresa Ruiz is leading Republican Kimberly Yee.
He focused on academic achievement and maintaining the voucher program.
Ruiz, emphasizing teacher support, stronger ESA guardrails,
and returning the program to its original intent.
Now to help special needs students.
In the Congressional District 2 race, there is a tight margin right now
between Republican incumbent Eli Crane and Democrat Jonathan Nez.
At one point, Nez was leading in this race,
but he is now trailing Crane
by a little over 2,200 votes with 86% of the vote.
And to the Secretary of State race, incumbent Democrat Adrian Fontes,
projected to keep that seat right there over Alexander Colladen.
And in the race for Attorney General, the AP
is now projecting incumbent Democrat Chris Mayes will keep her seat,
defeating Republican Warren Peterson 55% to Peterson's 45%.
And in Arizona's 1st Congressional District, Dr. Amish Shah,
the Democrat there, holds a lead over Republican Jay Feeley.
It's 52 percent to 45 percent,
but this race is considered still too close to call.
In the meantime, the race for governor has been called.
Democrat Katie Hobbs set to serve another term.
She defeated Republican challenger Andy Biggs.
And hundreds of people showed up tonight
at a West Phoenix victory rally for Governor Katie Hobbs
and Lieutenant Governor-elect John Giles.
And Fox 10's Nicole Christine is live now from the state capitol
with the issues that people say brought them out
to vote for the historic ticket.
Nicole.
Well, good evening, Ellen and Mark.
Of course, top of mind for voters right now is cost of living.
But these supporters say that they are hopeful
this ticket will be able to embody what it truly
means to reach across the aisle here at the Capitol
and represent all Arizonans.
People power is important.
What can I say? Blue wave.
Supporters of Governor Katie Hobbs
and Lieutenant Governor-elect John Giles
showing up to the Carpenters' local 1912 Hall
in West Phoenix Wednesday evening
for a victory rally, celebrating not only the gubernatorial race,
but also the Democratic trifecta expected
at the Arizona Statehouse in January,
with the House and the Senate both expected
to have a Democratic majority
for the first time in six decades.
60 years.
Years.
I want you to understand what that means to me.
When I got to the legislature in 2011,
there were so few Democrats in the Senate.
That we joked the caucus could share one pizza.
I am so happy with everything that I saw.
It was such a relief and just such a difference
from two years ago when we saw Trump win.
Just ecstatic.
I mean, I expected some of it,
but to turn both the House and the Senate is absolutely
unbelievable and, you know, it's time.
Voters say they were drawn to the Hobbs-Giles ticket
because of the promises made to listen
to what Arizonans across the state care about.
As a Latina, I feel that immigration
Housing, affordable health care.
Get some much-needed attention on the ICE facility out in Surprise.
See what kind of action we can take legislatively.
Supporting things like education, supporting Medicaid,
because we've got a lot of money we have
to fill in because of the federal cuts.
Supporters say Giles, as a former Republican and now independent,
represents a chance for both parties
to come together in the Grand Canyon State.
I'm hoping that we can begin to see some folks come together
that haven't felt like they could in a very long time.
In this particular case, he can help reach across the aisle.
I think they can really show between the two the bipartisanship.
That bipartisanship mentioned by both Hobbs
and Giles during their rally speeches.
I've seen what this state can
do when we stop asking what side you're on
And instead start asking what Arizona needs.
We come from different backgrounds and different parties,
but we share the same North Star, putting Arizona first.
And during both of those speeches,
Giles and Hobbs both addressed the voters who chose their opponents
and voted for the other side of the ticket.
They say that they will fight for all Arizonans and that they hope
to gain those voters support and trust over the next four years.
You can watch the entire rally over on Fox 10 Phoenix dot com live
