Road Trip Close to Home: American Pie Company serves up fresh-baked comfort food in Sherman

We make only pies from scratch every day, so our pies are fresh. We're at the American Pie in Sherman, Connecticut. I like to make pies because I like to make people happy. We bake pies, cakes, cookies, crumb cakes, cupcakes. And we have a restaurant area with breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. We like to call it American comfort food. And it's delicious. You could get a chicken pot pie, a shepherd pie, a pot roast dinner, a turkey dinner. The holidays, it's a very hectic but fun time. The favorite pie for a holiday is apple. Apple and apple crumb and probably second would be pumpkin. We probably do about 2,200. 2500 pies in a four-day period. We have a freezer with take-and-bake chicken pot pies, shepherd pies, cottage pies, vegetable pot pies, beef pot pies, and last year we started doing take-and-bake fruit pies. Just the trip here is wonderful. We are a destination, yeah. I think the quaintness coming in, and it's a small place to visit, but the food is delicious. I hope they come and give us a shot, try us out, and hopefully you won't be disappointed. Oh yeah, I would suggest to come here for a road trip for sure. Looking for even more great local adventures?
