Ladies and gentlemen, we've had Tropical Storm Chantel form off
the coast of Georgia and South Carolina.
And it appears to be inbound for the Carolinas.
We'll take a look at the timing of that and the different
spaghetti models that have been issued just moments ago.
We'll also run it through AI,
which does not agree with spaghetti models.
Again, tropical storm Chantel has formed.
It very well might become a hurricane.
45 mile per hour sustained winds.
1,006 millibars central pressure moving north
at 3 miles an hour.
Before that, we'll take a quick look at the two storms forming.
In the Pacific, off the coast of Mexico,
one with an 80% chance of formation in the next several days,
and one that looks like it may join one in front of it
with only a 20% chance of formation in the next several days.
These do look like they're headed out to sea,
which means the Hawaiian Islands could be in play.
Headed over to my box hurricane enhanced satellite.
This is the latest and greatest here, and you can see,
It looks like it's headed towards North Carolina,
but that's not what the spaghetti models tell us.
Also, it looks like there's another disturbance brewing
in the Gulf of Mexico down here.
All right, so you're taking a look now
at the official national hurricane track.
It looks like it brings it ashore around 8 p.m. Saturday.
which is about four hours from now the sustained winds
at around 50 miles an hour it looks like
moves from there into North Carolina take
a look at the spaghetti models and then an AI
and we'll take a look at the differences of the three all right even
though it looks like
it's going into North Carolina all the spaghetti models
are in agreement it's going to take it
Right into the Charleston, South Carolina area.
It's going to take a sharp turn towards the northeast
and stick near the coast and go right through North
Carolina into Virginia to see how that plays out.
And all the spaghetti models are pretty much in agreement here.
So we have a good probability of this happening.
Jumping over to windy.com,
you can see it hugging the coast there of Georgia.
And South Carolina, we can see that Georgia,
South Carolina, and North Carolina are already
receiving heavy winds and rain from the outer bands of the system.
Let's put it in play and see what AI does with it.
Looks like it wants to go into North Carolina,
to me, based on Windy's AI here, perhaps even
hug the coast and move north and maybe not make landfall at all.
Now, with all the spaghetti models taking it into South Carolina,
I'm going to go with
landfall tonight around 8 p.m. in South Carolina,
although that's not what windy.com's AI does
with it.
That said, we officially have our third named storm
in the Atlantic for the 2025 season,
Chantel.
Please be safe.
Warn your friends and family on the East Coast.
they may not be aware of the quick formation of Chantal please share
subscribe and always remember that anything's possible bizarro world
