James Kaufman, World News Report today.
Ladies and gentlemen, it's been very calm over the last few days.
It looks like they actually turned off the Boulder,
Fredericksburg, and College KP indexes
and only left the estimated planetary, the updated index, on.
Very, very strange indeed.
Well, we've had a large solar flare
from a very complex delta-class sunspot.
The sunspot snuck up on us, and it is basically earth-facing.
If not, it will be by tomorrow,
and we'll see how the M flare works out.
Not a good situation.
They've raised the chances of an X flare,
an M flare, etc., considerably.
It's like we have several nasty sunspots coming around the limb.
I hope our shields are ready for it.
After no activity whatsoever for days,
all of a sudden we're back up to a C baseline
and we just had an M3.6 flare from a delta class sunspot
with several more complex sunspots
coming around the limb currently.
It does not look good at all this week
as the moon is moving into place to wedge itself
right between the sun and earth.
There's so many geomagnetic connections behind Earth
and in front of it, as I will show y'all.
Nasty, nasty week.
So we can see that they already knew
this was a delta-class sunspot yesterday.
Here, 4566.
Shouldn't it just be 666?
We see very little activity out of it.
It just popped off this M3,
the largest flare we've seen in a month.
Over 72 hours, over 24 hours for sure,
and I expect many more to come from it and its
friends that are following it.
NOAA has moved the chances of us facing
an X-class solar flare from 0 to 10%, an M-class
up to 35%.
That ship sailed today, and we've got a C baseline, folks.
That should be, well, by tomorrow, 99%.
Now, we really have two or three problems.
Look at the size of this coronal hole
that will be earth-facing by tomorrow.
This is 4566 right here, a delta-class sunspot.
And look what's coming around the limb currently.
These look like big, big problems, even more complex than this.
And this is where the M3.6 flare just came from.
Y'all would say, well, an M3.6 flare is not very large.
Y'all saw what the...
This medium C flare did to us just a week or two ago.
It tore us a new one.
Now we have extensive solar winds inbound.
They'll be here in about 45 hours.
That's a guesstimate.
And if this has an Earth component to it,
well, we're going to be in big trouble with a one-two punch.
Over at HMI Intensogram, we have three sunspots up here,
which aren't doing much, although this is getting much more complex.
And we have this bad boy, which is really, well, the problem here.
Sunspot 4566, and this is a probable region that they're about to name.
It looks more than probable to me.
You can see that there's several more following it.
I will show you the actual explosion.
It looks like it did create a coronal mass ejection.
It probably has an Earth component to it.
There's a 100% chance we're going to be nailed with very
strong, probably above 700 kilometers per second,
solar winds the next 45 to 50 hours. And that
could be joined by this M flare
and perhaps others that pop off later today and tomorrow.
So, this is what we have.
There's your complex sunspot right there, 4566.
And this one is starting to become more complex, 4565.
And this one doesn't look bad either, 4567.
4564 doesn't look like much at all.
And this is the one that they're wondering if they should name.
And I would say it will be named.
There's probably two or three it will be named by tomorrow.
All right, they have the peak at 1833.
which is right about here and you can see
that is the explosion talking about this area right here
you can also see this is GOES-19 solar ultraviolet imager 195 angstroms
and the coronal hole is quite
clear and large and it's bi-equatorial i.e it's in the northern
and southern hemisphere
and that's a fairly impressive flare believe it or not
Definitely lit up that Christmas tree.
Get ready, because I'm pretty sure it's going
to have an earth component to it.
This is the X-ray impact on the D region,
the lowest, closest to ground atmospheric region.
You can see that it absorbed quite a bit of X-rays,
although the radio alternation didn't go off the charts.
This really mostly happened over the Pacific and,
I guess, pieces of South America and Central America.
But mainly over the Pacific, which is a good thing.
This is SDO HMI magnetogram image.
And, well, this is our delta class sunspot.
White over black in the southern hemisphere.
Reverse polarity.
That would make it delta class.
And these are some of the other sunspots that they're looking at.
Nothing looks like this, though.
This is a complete mess.
Although this sunspot up here is becoming more complex.
And this is black over white in the northern hemisphere.
I did call that out as looking more complex.
All right, this picture was taken at 7.06 this morning central time.
You can see all the sunspots really clearly that are coming around.
This is our delta class,
and these are the ones that haven't even come around the limb yet.
And they're popping off large flares.
You can see everything here becoming more complex,
becoming more complex.
This absolutely huge coronal hole that's earth facing
which will be pouring out high-speed solar
streams on earth well by tomorrow for sure
although it will take some time for them to
get here even at 700 kilometers per second.
This is SOHO at 284 angstroms and it's about
to get ugly in here look where the moon
is lined up here it's about to get worse.
We've got a geomagnetic connection to Uranus,
Saturn, Neptune, Eris, Venus, and Mercury.
And Venus and Mercury are between the Sun and Earth.
The Moon will move into place.
It will be worse tomorrow, worse on the 7th, 8th, and the 9th.
The 7th, 8th, and the 9th are the days I called out a month ago.
That should be a very interesting time period.
7th, 8th, and 9th.
So the rest of this week is going to be more than interesting.
Lots of problems, especially
with those big sunspots coming around the limb.
So y'all prepare.
This could be, well, we could have just seen the calm before the storm.
This could be what the governments are preparing for.
They definitely have equipment
that can see things that they're not showing us.
So, folks, please do get prepared.
Just as they asked you to,
because this could easily take out the grid anywhere on the planet,
if not half the planet's grids. With that, please give us a thumbs up,
do share this video, and God bless you all.
