This is the first time in the town of Gibsons
that a jester has led our swearing-in ceremonies.
When we were walking down,
I could see every single person in the audience trying to hold in
laughter. So at that point, I declared,
It's okay, laugh! You have the mayor's permission to laugh.
There is a very rich history
of court jesters being involved in royal court ceremonies.
I was dressed as a court jester complete with a pointed hat
and curly shoes.
I led the mayor and council in a procession with my horn.
I was having a lot of fun trying to get everybody else to have fun.
I feel honored to be involved
in such a bold fashion.
I love Gibsons.
Think beachcombers.
Think, you know, part of the most beautiful pocket of B.C.
And I'm not at all surprised that they did this.
And don't we all need to see court gestures
in political chambers this week?
