Alright, it's future forecaster time and yes,
Havy is here from Plymouth, Sheboygan County.
Good to have you, Havy. How are you, sir?
Good.
Good. You having a fun day so far?
Yeah.
Yeah, it's been a lot of fun having you
here already. We've done some fun stuff.
And tell everybody what grade you're in.
Third.
Third grade. So you're what, eight years old?
Yeah.
Yeah? Did you just turn eight or is your birthday coming up?
My birthday's coming up on May 21st.
Okay, so you're like eight and a half almost.
Oh, getting close to nine. That's pretty exciting. Do you like school?
Yeah.
What's your favorite class?
Gym.
Gym. That's a good class, yeah.
It's like right up there with lunch and recess, right?
Mm-hmm. I like it. Good for you.
You're a pretty active kid. Do you like to play sports and stuff?
Soccer.
Soccer, yeah. Very nice. And you probably watch the World Cup, huh?
Yeah.
Is that fun or what?
All right, and you also sent us a really cool audition tape,
so let's roll a clip of that right now.
The forecaster.
Right now in Milwaukee, it feels like minus 39 degrees,
the dew point is minus 30, and the visibility is 10 miles.
Stay warm out there, folks.
That was pretty good. You used one of our graphics there.
That was pretty inventive, Avey. I like it.
And did you have your, it looked like you had a soccer shirt on there.
Yeah.
Yeah, was that from your team or was that a team you support?
That was from my brother.
Your brother's team?
All right. Looking very good indeed. All right.
Well, Havi and I are on the green screen now. So
we're standing in front of a green wall, right?
And then the computer does its magic, Havi, and
turns it into what everybody sees at home with all
of our graphics. And we can do all of our
satellite and radar stuff.
I like to fly out into outer space, pretend I'm an astronaut,
fulfill my childhood dreams of going to the moon,
all just by standing in front of this big green
wall right here. We can also use it to do the weather.
You want to help me out with that?
Yeah.
All right. So turn this way. See yourself over there
on that monitor? Turn this way. Can I
Do you want to borrow your left hand?
That one?
Uh, yes.
That monitor down there, but also this left hand.
Yeah.
There's just the one you got, right?
Okay.
Good.
Now we're going to reach way up there, and I want you to point right
at that big blue
H. Right.
A little bit more.
There we go.
Okay.
Now come back down here.
We're going to take one step backward.
We're going to draw the H right over top of us.
Point your finger.
Woo! Okay, that's gigantic.
That's skull crushing high pressure, but it's good. It's all good.
Can't see the state behind it at all, but it is accurate.
We are under a ridge of high pressure, so you totally nailed it, Havy.
We're off to a good start. And since you love Minecraft so much,
I thought we'd just go into the world of Minecraft, hanging out.
I thought this was the bad guy, though.
How come this dude's all buddy-buddy with the creeper here?
I don't know.
I don't know either.
I think that's a little bit concerning.
But do you like to play Minecraft, too, when you're not playing soccer?
Yeah.
Yeah.
What do you build in Minecraft?
I build houses.
Oh, very nice.
And play some of the games that are built in there.
You're a very well-rounded kid, Havy.
All right, well, Havy's going to take over the forecast in just a bit,
so stick around for that.
You did an amazing job today.
Yeah, you sure is.
Havy is our future forecaster,
third grader from Plymouth and Fairview Elementary.
Yeah.
What's your teacher's name?
Mrs. Schwacker.
Mrs. Schwacker, we have to say hi.
Give her a wave.
Get some bonus points for the day today.
Right? Favorite classes? Gym. We talked about that earlier.
Second favorite class, you said, was snack and recess.
But of the things where you actually have
homework sometimes, what's your favorite?
Writing.
Writing. So like social studies and writing and stuff?
Yeah.
Maybe one day you'll be a writer here at Fox 6.
All right, for now, though, you're our future forecaster.
I'm going to get out of the way, Haley. You take over our forecast.
Away you go.
Right now, Milwaukee, winds and...
North, 12 miles per hour.
Good job.
37 degrees, feels like 29 degrees.
Right now the pressure is 30.13.
Good job. And the dew point?
The dew point is 38 degrees.
Very good.
Now you see anything we should
be concerned about here on the satellite and radar?
Any rain or snow anywhere?
Right now, in Washoe Falls, it's raining.
Okay, yeah, a little sprinkle right there.
Yeah, you're right.
And then there's some snow way up in northern Michigan, huh?
How about some temperatures?
Go for it.
In Denver.
It's 38, right?
What else?
Two more.
Rapid City, 29 degrees.
And this one, 32 degrees.
Very good.
Give everybody their forecast, please, sir.
Most today, mostly sunny, 48 degrees tonight, a few clouds,
28 degrees tomorrow, mostly sunny and 50 degrees.
Good job, Haley.
Nicely done, sir.
All right.
Come on over here with me.
We're going to hang out with the news anchors.
Good for you, man.
Come on over.
Come on over here.
You can run over here if you want to.
We're excited to have you.
Come on, jump up right in here.
This big boy seat.
You deserve the day off after this.
You worked this morning.
You can let them know it's cool.
You comfortable?
That's right.
Well, breaking news.
Can I scooch you out?
He is going to school.
You know what?
Do you mind if I take your microphone?
I think it fell off, buddy.
You care?
I'm going to put it on your tie here so we can hear you loud and clear.
I love this tie.
Okay.
Well, you start by telling us, how do you feel after doing that?
That was amazing.
I feel good.
You feel good?
You have a favorite part?
Yeah.
Tell me about it.
What is it?
About what you did today.
My favorite part was telling the weather.
Telling the weather.
Oh, man, you did such a nice job.
You did a really good job of that.
Now, you've got quite a big family at home, too, right?
You've got some brothers and sisters?
Yeah.
Tell us about them.
My aunt is in the Air Force.
Oh, okay.
Nice.
We'll thank him for that, yeah.
My sister works in the emergency room.
Wow, you've got some pretty important people in your family here.
Who else?
My grandmas are retired.
Wonderful! She's probably watching right now.
You wanted to give grandma a shout out too, didn't you?
I want to do a shout out to my grandma.
What's her name?
Havey.
Oh, your grandma's Havey too?
Yeah.
Oh, that's wonderful.
Oh, I love that.
That's beautiful.
You also have a big pet family, I understand, too.
Yeah.
Share a little bit about folks.
You have some interesting pets.
I have three dogs.
One's a lab mix.
His name is Max.
Nice.
I have two great peonies.
Their names are Owen and Freya.
And I have a snake named Damien.
A snake.
Ooh.
Oh, wow.
And I have chickens.
One of them's name is Bandit.
Nice, man.
Did the snake and the chickens get along?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
The snake stays inside.
That's a good call.
I bet he does.
Very good call.
Well, what do you like to do in your free time
when you're not doing homework, when you're outside?
What do you like to do?
Ride my four-wheelers.
Oh, sweet.
Sometimes when Levi's here, I like to play with him.
Yeah.
Or magnet fishing.
Oh, that's really cool, man.
And I think the news anchors are going to love your future plans.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a heavy's handy service and a builder
Look at you, man.
You're going to help people is what I heard.
Yeah, sounds like your brother and sister help people.
You are going to help people you plan to.
That's really cool.
Good job, Havy.
All right, well, speaking of cool,
I think one of the artists that you love
to listen to music to is pretty cool.
You want to share a little bit about
who's your favorite artist for singing or performing?
Yeah.
Who is it?
Is that Michael Jackson?
You like Michael Jackson?
Do you have a favorite song?
We all like Michael Jackson here.
What's your favorite?
I just like them all.
I like them all.
You like them all?
Yeah.
Good answer.
And I like those people over there who are your parents.
Can we give a big wave?
Can you introduce us to them, maybe?
Who do we see?
Mommy and Daddy.
Nice.
You guys gotta be proud.
He did such a great job today.
Oh, thumbs up all around.
Well, good stuff, man.
We have one more job for you.
So I'm going to, well, I guess I'll get
to this first before I tell you what you're going to do.
If your kid wants to be just like KV here on future,
a future Fox 6, excuse me, a Fox 6
future forecaster. Here's what,
how you do it and go ahead and open up the camera on your phone and
scan that QR code. It'll take you right
to more information on our website. Again, they must be
between the ages of six and 12.
Just head to fox6now.com for more information. All right. So
what I want you to do is take a look at that camera right there.
And I want you to read what's on the teleprompter for us, okay?
What's a teleprompter?
Well, just read the words right there that you see.
It says, I'm Havy, and you want to read that?
I'm Havy, your Fox 6 future forecaster.
Thanks for watching.
There is more Fox 6 makeup after the break.
Nailed it!
Good job, buddy.
That was nice.
That is awesome.
High five.
And then when you do go to school today,
you can tell your friends what an awesome job you did.
All right.
