Doesn't get much bigger than this, let's check it out!
Made it back to the Gibson Depot antique
and designer mall Donnie, yes, oh what are you doing
man, the old lady's got me up here looking
for a basket, I need a basket with a flat back on it where
she can hang it on the wall to put something
in, she didn't even tell me what size or nothing but
I'm looking for a flat basket
so this is the largest antique mall in the south
supposedly we've been in here before and it is very big
but i don't know if it's the largest because you know you would think
maybe in Florida there's a bigger one i don't know
that that one across town i think it'll give
it a run for it, yeah there's the White Owl antique mall down
the road too, that's if it ain't as big
as this, it's close whenever you go inside it they both are huge
so we're going to go in here and see
what we can find, Donnie's always looking
for a certain type of Pyrex, he's looking for that
basket that he's talking about, i'm always looking
for broken clocks and radios and
electronics stuff like that television
so we'll go in here and see what we can find
and when you come in there's a porch out here
and this stuff's just always out here
so there's a there's hundreds of boots in here
but this is like slabs of wood obviously
um actually decent prices i think you know
if you needed something now that's pretty
crazy black walnut big old black walnut mantel beam
five by eight, yeah
you know for the right project this stuff
is very useful it just looks great
That's had a post-powder beetle. Yeah, post-powder beetle.
That's not a post-powder beetle.
Got some old doors. They look awesome.
Got some old shutters. I don't know. I mean,
I guess you can tell by the, this is vendor 9745.
What number is on those? Does it say 9745?
Nope, it says five.
Yes, I don't know. Who knows what vendors what?
I guess it doesn't really matter.
Do you know what all the women are using these for now?
To hang towels on.
Quilts.
Yep. That's pretty cool. Man, they've got a bunch of different ones,
actually. That's pretty cool.
They cut them all up.
How much are those?
I was 50.
$58.
Oh, they just get an old wood ladder and cut it into pieces.
I see. All right. That makes sense.
Let's look at the little rocking horse. What's it say?
It says it's $195.
one hundred ninety-five off
That's a pretty good deal.
Does it...
Oh, it doesn't rock, though, does it?
It probably would have fit bolted.
Yeah.
So it's got a big spring in the middle?
Rubber.
Oh.
I've never seen one made quite that way.
And then I don't think that signs for sale,
but there's a whole bunch more stuff like that inside, obviously.
But even walking in is cool.
It's a cool old building.
Yeah.
$2.45.
Oh, there's some metal...
Now, whatever, if you watch on our channel,
we've done some...
Restoration rehabs I would say of like old old buildings
and we have done a lot of work with these
tin ceilings. You can actually get most
of the patterns um they reproduce them. Now with that
said I don't think I've ever seen that one reproduced
but maybe $40 a piece. Yeah.
New there well it's been a few years since we bought some
but it used to be that new they were
What was it, like $7?
For a two by two, it's about seven bucks a piece.
These are two by fours.
Those are two by fours, so it would have been $14, $15 at one point.
But ours wasn't this detailed.
Detail.
Yeah.
Ours was one big square, so that might be more.
Yeah, so pretty cool though.
But yeah, they do still make that stuff, believe it or not.
Donnie, what is that?
You still looking for a porch duck?
That's an actual decoy, though, because it's got that to make it float.
Don't look that off.
I'm sure you could.
It's good.
$32. I'm sure you could.
I don't know.
Tony probably doesn't want a plastic one.
This is a really cool booth.
So the guy's got hammers.
He's got an old speaker.
He's got carriage bolts.
He's got a bunch of, like, wrought iron stuff.
I mean, plant hangers, wall hangers.
Artwork,
here's the ironworkinc.com,
we've got some Chilton manuals,
welcome, made by
horseshoes, that's awesome, that's, oh, wow,
they didn't even, oh, yeah, they just used
the curved, that's really cool,
some Chilton service manuals, that's cool, an old scale,
Another speaker.
There's a part of the transmission.
An apple and cinnamon.
Is that a, ooh, that's liquor.
That's Japanese, I think Japanese.
He's got some of those cool circle fluorescent bulbs.
It's kind of like everything in here is cool.
Vintage wines and more.
I like it.
Yet another really cool booth.
It even says cool things.
But this one, this stuff is always here
because it's a very high-end thing.
So you've got a really high-end register here for $2,000.
1915 National Cash Register.
And you've got, like, one of the greatest jukeboxes ever.
It's a Rockola 7895 Firm.
It's been completely restored.
Just these huge pieces of, I think they call it Catalin or Catalin.
Just a specimen.
You will never see another one of those.
I mean, people have them, but they're in private collections.
They're worth a fortune.
So that price isn't crazy.
That's, you know, they're probably worth that or even more.
I haven't seen one of these in a long time,
a Waring solid state blender, 900 watt, wow.
Model 1240, about 1980, they think, 25 bucks.
I remember making milkshakes in those.
I don't remember it ever being this way.
Yeah, I don't know that it was this same exact one,
but that's really cool.
Remember the rubber plastic tops that go on it,
so you don't get your banana split going
all over the place.
They even have old car stereos, look at this.
Oh it's a Sears and Roebuck. Probably seen better days.
That is actually made like that though where
it's crooked. Old tape deck. Spark-o-matic tape deck.
Missing the display there. Ford car stereo.
Mid-80s Ford car stereo. God it's so cool.
Cool old Philco transistor radio. You know probably
from the late 60s. Just guessing. Cool look though.
Guessing. This is the old school elevator.
Is this an elevator or a dumbwaiter?
You can't see up above, but it only goes up about another eight feet.
Yeah, it says it's not a passenger elevator.
This is probably a dumbwaiter.
Yeah, so it just takes you down.
Use caution.
Not responsible for accidents or injuries.
Injuries.
These old mills are really cool to look around in.
Uh-huh.
This guy has a bunch of radios but they're all restored
and they're you know good money so I
haven't found one that I want to buy yet.
So here's like an RCA Radiola 15 does that say?
Radiola 18 from 1927 $250. So that's that's an RCA
but a radio like that would be what that big
speaker sits on top of.
Yeah
that's really cool.
Yeah see like I like
that kind
of stuff where it
looks different but like I said it's going
to be a restored price I think. Ah $75 that's not too bad.
hundred and sixty five dollars okay he's doing
a whole skit over here
with the phone how much
is the phone donnie how much are those worth now
that's true
I didn't make it out.
Because I like making outfits though.
bugs bunny how much is it
65 that's pretty cool says yeah wake up doc i
like it yeah they get some cool stuff in here
This is that place, Donnie, that had that,
there was a toolbox right here that we looked
at last time we came in here.
All right, so this place sells blow molds,
and they get tons of them, and they've got
a lot of Christmas ones, but they get, obviously,
there's some Halloween ones down there and
stuff, but I guess Christmas is their big season,
and they got all these little elves
on the shelf.
Knee hugger elf, vintage pixie,
Noel, vintage Kamar,
the little devil knee hugger.
A little deer for $5 each.
A candle
holder set.
That's some cool stuff.
That candle holder set, that's probably from the 50s.
Real vintage, kitschy stuff.
You need a fireplace
for Halloween stuff.
I think they repaint some of them.
I think.
Don't you think they repaint some of them?
Because some of them look brand new.
Like Snoopy there.
Look at that.
They haven't repainted that.
Look how nice he looks.
Oh, it says modern.
So maybe it's just not old enough.
but i i think that they i think they repaint some
and just make it look really nice
yeah but i think they were no i think some
of the original ones were like that
That one ain't, but that one is.
i don't know i'm just saying a lot of them look
so nice i think they're redone because
i think they are vintage but they've just been repainted
He he he he he he he.
Getting my branch right, $14.
i see what i like better than
that holy crap look at this beautiful thing
Donnie, you know my last name's Lyons.
Is it?
Yeah.
I wouldn't know.
It's a coincidence.
I know that we both have the same exact last name.
It's probably because we have the same father.
Hello, mother.
Hello, father.
It's a...
It's a...
The only thing that would be better than this,
a velvet lion, would be a velvet Elvis.
But look, if you don't like the lion, there's a tiger.
Yep.
Hey, is this $75 for both of them?
Large lion, vintage painting, $75.
That's pretty cool, man.
I like it.
I don't have to think about that.
All right, we're going to pass on that duck. Look at all of the
The
vintage upholstery. I think some of it's vintage.
Oh yeah, we're not going to that one next.
I think they put new windows in. This place is huge.
These always make me stop and think this
is sure of a lady. Somebody's grandma.
Probably maybe 1910s or even older.
This is cool to see. It's like a functional fire door
and there's several of them. So the way
these things were designed back in the day,
they are on a slanted track and they're fire resistant.
I mean it would have to burn a while to get through that.
And it has a big weight that's
holding it up. Oh this one's a cable.
Is there a rope on that end? It used to be rope. They
They changed it so that would originally have been rope.
And if there was a fire, the fire would burn through the rope.
Whenever the rope dropped the weight, it would slam that door shut.
So it was like an old school fire security door.
It may have just had like a little,
the whole thing would have been rope, right?
That could be lead there.
Yeah, maybe there's something like lead that will melt
and do the same thing.
But you get the idea of it, basically.
There's another one down there, too.
I wonder if there's one on the other side.
Yes.
They're on the other side too and here's the sign.
Fire door. This door is arranged to close
automatically in case of fire do not block doorway
or place any article in contact with
the door.
That's going the wrong direction.
Do what?
That one's the way it's supposed to be.
This one's wrong. Oh that one yeah they just
got it looped up at the top. Yeah okay.
Yeah so it wouldn't work like that really
because it would interfere with the wheels.
Oh yeah well they could fix that though if they redid it. Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, so that's like some kind of little...
That's lead.
Yeah, so that would melt, and then it would allow the door to shake.
Very cool.
Donnie, some people may not know about antique models.
Tell them why you're not carrying around what we've decided to buy.
We usually leave it at the front counter.
If you take it up to the...
You can bring a cart.
We don't like pushing them around.
But what we do is, if we find something we want,
we just take it up to the front counter
and they will keep it up there in a little pile for you.
They got little cubbies up there that they stick on your table.
So that's what we usually do.
Now, what were you going to say about those?
Have you noticed these things are getting hot lately?
Donnie can't ever figure out if those
are real or if they're reproductions.
Like, that says Swenson, and it has a chip on it.
And the...
logo is worn a little bit. Charlotte, North Carolina.
You'd think they wouldn't fake one
that's like a Swinson.
What's the album you guys got through?
S&P. Swenson food products. I don't
know, man. I don't think that they would reproduce them.
I mean, I guess you could make a new decal,
but I don't think they would reproduce that one.
Who's going to say, you know what I want?
I want a Swenson S&P jar.
You know, they would want the, what's the big one?
What's the chip company down on South Boulevard?
Blaze?
No, Lance.
Lance.
A lot of them are Lance, but that makes sense.
Everybody knows Lance.
So my whole thinking is those are probably original.
That's why they've got a, you know.
Now those are either restored or reproduction.
Now this says restored.
They probably are restored.
same thing here grape soda you know that's
not going to be the one that everybody's looking for
that's going to be you know what they what
that actually was the guy's just restoring
an original piece what do you think you're not convinced no
Nope.
that's my thought
so every time we come here donnie always stops at this place
and i think the art's different donnie
i think they've maybe we can go find it
um these weren't here last time there he
is oh he's next door oh okay all right
All right.
Tell them about where you saw this stuff first.
At a little hole-in-the-wall eating joint.
Called Dario's.
Dario's, yep.
In Pageville, South Carolina.
A really cool burger place that makes milkshakes and stuff there.
They've got the tin ones.
They don't have any of the vats.
They've got the tin ones.
Yeah, and they've got cows like that.
It's like a, I don't know what it used to be.
I don't know if it's always been there, if it's a newer place.
It's a newer place.
It looks old, but they've got a whole bunch
of those all-cow themed ones.
Hanging up on the walls, you know, like this.
And this is where they bought them.
We asked her where she bought them, and she said here's some.
Of course, my better half had to come down here and buy some.
So they've got some.
But now I've got some.
So I stop by here every time.
Just to make sure there's nothing that we have to have.
And actually, I think I bought some on camera.
I think so, on one of the other videos.
I like those little ones, too. That's kind of smart.
Because some people might not have room for a big one.
And it looks like they're doing them on old beadboard,
you know, that they bought somewhere.
Yep.
they don't look bad i mean they're nice yeah
so i like them very cool 45 for the little cat yeah
so yeah the price is the little ones 45 what
are the big ones it doesn't even say it doesn't
i'm sure what it says but it's in the back of these things
and i don't really want to take
one home okay there it is 75. yeah
so that's what you're looking at we'll figure out how
to get it back up on there
so this says vintage donnie 13 inch store display jar
225 is maybe what it's saying.
Yeah but the lid is vintage but is that? That's a good point.
Point.
Now that that one's a little more unique.
It's square but that brown one's everywhere. Yeah it's
hard to tell. How much was that radio over there?
$30. $30? Didn't I look at that last time?
How much is that clock over on the right?
Oh that's an electric one I think.
I don't know what the book is.
$42. Oh, it's an electric one. Yeah.
That's pretty cool. Yeah. I think I looked at this
last time and decided against it.
Maybe next time, buddy. So what? The booth that I get
stuff at all the time. Where's a big, nice, uh, thermometer.
No, we haven't seen big Berkey
yet.
That one is the original. See how that's rusted all up.
Yeah. That's the original. That's the
repro. You think that's the reproduction?
I know that one's the reproduction. Why do you think that?
Just to tell you. Because it's so nice. What's it say?
What are they saying? It says a one quart
glass oil bottle. The Huffman Manufacturing Company.
$32. So this one it appears to be
original. It's also $32. I don't know.
They're acting like that's original.
You don't think so?
Nope.
I wish somebody that knew would reply on our channel.
This one does have a breather in it, though.
It does, too, doesn't it?
Yeah.
I don't know.
I'll bet you this one's original and that one ain't.
Donnie.
Yo.
What are you doing?
I'm getting tired, so I know you've got to be.
This one's getting a little long.
We'll come back to you.
Give us a thumbs up for filming
and subscribe to the channel if you haven't already, and
we'll catch you on the next one.
Donnie, we've got to keep going, Donnie.
There's more to film.
We'll show them next time.
I've got to rest.
All right, folks.
We'll see you next time.
