Hi, namaste. My name is Ali and welcome to this meditation today. A meditation on the subtle body.
In this meditation you can find a comfortable seated position or you can lay in a reclined
position if that feels better for you. And this session I'd really love to welcome you to join
our upcoming Hatha yoga immersion which you can sign up for using the links below.
You can also learn more about our Embodied Wisdom 200 hour yoga teacher training which I'll
share a little bit more about at the end of this meditation. So take a moment now,
find a comfortable position and when you're ready closing down through the eyes. You might bring
your hands palms facing up or palms facing down or you can bring hands into jnana mudra. That
feels good. Closing down through the eyes begin by noticing your breath. With each exhale begin to
welcome your body to relax and settle. Letting your attention begin to move inward and begin to
feel the support of the earth beneath your body. Perhaps you're sensing the ground or a chair
or a blanket, a yoga mat. And also sensing down into what lies beneath the foundation.
A sense of the earth, rocks, bedrock and this rolling
immensity of earth on which you can rest. And as you feel that support take a deep breath in
through the nose. Filling your lungs completely and then slowly exhale through the mouth.
Releasing any tension or stress from your body as you exhale. Let's do that one more time.
Filling the lungs and pausing and then letting go of tension as you exhale.
Let your attention remain on the breath as you let it come back to a natural rhythm
so that you're simply noticing the gentle rise and fall of the belly with each inhalation,
each exhalation. No need to control the breath. We're simply observing it as it flows naturally
in and out. Sensing the air at the nostrils. Perhaps a sense of coolness
on the inhale. Maybe you're sensing warmth or humidity on the exhale. And with each exhale
allowing your mind to relax from the world of thinking. With each inhale welcoming a sense of
presence, spacious awareness, calmness and peace. Continuing to breathe in this way.
Bringing a sense of ease to your breath as you breathe in. Feel the expansion
of your body as you breathe out. Welcoming a deep sense of peace, calm and relaxation.
Allowing this rhythm to guide you deeper and deeper into peaceful stillness.
And now gently bring your awareness to the base of your spine. Muladhara. As you inhale
you might imagine you could breathe into the base of the spine. Nourishing this region with
the breath. You might imagine a warm red glowing light at the base of your spine. Sensing,
feeling, imagining with each breath this light growing stronger, grounding you,
bringing you into connection and harmony with the earth beneath you. Welcoming yourself to feel
safe, secure, stable. Breathing in these qualities and then letting your awareness
move gently up, cascading upward to the area just below your navel, below belly.
Visualizing, imagining or sensing as if you could breathe in and out here at the belly.
You might imagine a soft orange glowing light and as you breathe in you might imagine
the warmth of this energy, of this light growing stronger, nurturing your creativity
and emotional well-being. You might bring to mind the element of water and allowing yourself to
flow with the rhythm of life. Embracing joy, pleasure, breathing into this region, nurturing
with this energy, the creative and nurturing energy. Letting your attention slowly rise up
just above the navel towards your core center, the solar plexus,
Manipura chakra. You might imagine or welcome or sense a bright golden yellow light shining into
this space like a microcosmic sun, solar energy. Imagining this light energizing you,
charging up your internal battery, filling you with confidence, willpower, strength,
tapas, a burning enthusiasm for the things that you love in this life. As you welcome this
energizing breath into your core center, could you imagine your personal power growing with each
breath and letting your attention rise now towards the center of your chest,
into the heart space, Anahata chakra. You might sense or imagine or welcome a vibrant
green light radiating from your heart center. It could be green or pink or gold.
Sensing what feels natural, what feels authentic to you. As you breathe in, feel this
light or imagine this light expanding, expansive energy filling your entire chest.
As you breathe in, you might imagine breathing in love, breathing in compassion,
breathing in harmony. Imagining yourself opening up, open to giving and receiving love freely
and letting your attention rise up once again towards your throat, the center of the throat,
Vishuddha chakra. Again, you might imagine, welcome or sense, perhaps visualize a soft
blue light glowing in this space of your throat. As you inhale, you might imagine this light
expanding, growing and expanding to help you express your truth, to communicate with clarity,
authentically, enhancing your ability to listen, to truly listen to others,
to your inner voice. Each breath, feel this energy growing stronger and brighter,
the power of your voice, the power of genuine listening and letting your attention rise up
once again towards the mind's eye, the center of the brows, center of the forehead.
Just noticing where you sense an energy percolating here in Ajna chakra. You might imagine now
a bright light, noticing what color light comes naturally, whether it's a bright white
or deep indigo, purple, rose gold, just noticing and welcoming or sensing.
Perhaps it's a clear warm sensation. You might imagine you could breathe in and out here
at the center of the forehead, nurturing and feeling this light expanding. Feel this light
opening your mind, enhancing your intuition, your connection to inner wisdom,
to buddhi consciousness, trusting and allowing yourself to see beyond the surface
into the world's unseen subconscious wisdom, the intelligence of life,
trusting your inner guidance to connect you to this deep knowing. Finally, letting your attention
rise up to the top of your head, the crown of your head, sahasrara chakra. You might imagine,
welcome or sense the violet or bright white light radiating from the top of your head,
like a crown. As you inhale, feel this light connecting you to all that there is,
to your spirit, to the universe, to the infinite source of wisdom, of consciousness,
the intelligence that created all of existence. Perhaps there's a name that this source of
infinite wisdom has in your heart and in your mind, and to that you might just mentally whisper
the words, thank you, allowing yourself to be open to the divine that abides in all that there is,
recognizing the oneness of all beings. For the next few breaths, just mentally whispering
on the inhale, so on the exhale, hum, inhaling, so exhaling, hum, I am all that there is.
Sensing the entire inner space of your spine, from base of the spine to crown of the head.
As you breathe, imagine breathing harmony, alignment, balance, peace,
well-being into every cell of your being. Then slowly beginning to deepen your breath,
notice the rise of your chest and exhale through an open mouth. Let's do this a couple of times.
Begin to feel the support of the earth, of the ground once again beneath you.
I'm bringing left hand onto the heart and right hand on top of the left,
taking a moment here to honor yourself for taking this time, this time to nurture your body,
your mind, your spirit, and begin to wiggle your toes. When you feel ready, you might slowly begin
to flutter the eyes open. You might begin to rock your head from side to side, bringing hands to
heart center and namaskar mudra, taking a deep breath in through the nose, out through the mouth.
