Hello ladies and gentlemen, it's Christopher from Cars Unlocked.
Today I will be presenting to you Nissan's best-selling crossover,
the 2018 Nissan Rogue. In 2017 there are some big changes to the
front of the Nissan Rogue in regards to the headlight
and the front grille. So nothing really to change when moving up to 2018 models.
This one being the SL Platinum package, you do get
the LED headlights and obviously they're the Nissan Smart
on and off and down below you do get the LED fog lights.
They kind of flattened out the Nissan symbol. It is a little bit larger than
last year's model and it's right in the middle of the nice chrome
v-motion grille here. These top model roads come with an
around view monitor. So there is a camera right on the front
and that's going to help with all the technology that I'm going to go through
a little later. In the middle package you do get the rear privacy glass so that
comes in our top models as well. Nice roof rails right on the top. They're
going to protect when putting things on the roof because you do have that dual
panoramic moonroof and you do get the chrome handles
with the keyless entry there. Take a look at the mirror. One thing
different in this top model packages between the other roads is there is a
camera right here. That's going to help again with that
around view monitor. You do get the LED turning accents right on the mirror
here as well. So this Rogue is sitting on the 19 inch
aluminum alloy ribs. The ribs go to this two-tone black and
silver when you go up to this platinum package.
And as you can see in behind it, it's sitting on the disc brakes there.
Moving on to under the hood. Nissan has the 2.5 liter CVT transmission under the
hood of this Rogue. Same as last year's model. No changes
really. It's going to pump out about 170 horsepower.
Here in Canada, it's going to come with the full warranty. Three-year, 60,000
comprehensive warranty. Five-year, 100,000 and Nissan's roadside assistance.
The CVT transmission is going to make it very good on fuel.
You're going to average about 9.6 liters per every 100 kilometers in the city
and 7.4 liters per every 100 kilometers on the highway. So really puts the Rogue
above its competitors as far as fuel economy.
Moving on to the back. We do see that Nissan has blacked out these LED
taillights a little bit. Our backup camera is right below our
Nissan Simo. That's going to help you when parking.
And then our trunk release is right down below in between
our Rogue and our SL all-wheel drive badging.
Nissan advertises these Rogues as conquering all conditions. So it's an
intuitive all-wheel drive system. Going to be good for the Canadian winter,
for the snow, for the sleet and for the ice. Some added technology
that you get in this Platinum model is the motion
activated tailgate. So I just need to click my foot below there and it's
going to open up automatically. Makes it easy if I have groceries or
things in my hand and I can close it as well.
Taking a look at the key, okay. We do have our lock, unlock
and our power liftgate button right on the key here with our panic button
as well. These keys do come with the remote starter so you can start it up
from a distance of 400 meters. I just need to have the vehicle locked
and I click and hold it there and the vehicle starts up.
It is an intelligent remote starter system so it's going to automatically
adjust your temperature to get the car to 21 degrees. Perfect in the wintertime,
perfect in the summertime if you want to cool the car down or heat it up in the
wintertime. With the Nissan intelligent key I just
need to push the button right on the door and I can unlock
and lock the door. That way I can leave the key in my pocket
and I never have to worry about losing or misplacing my keys.
With that said let's unlock the 2018 Nissan Rogue and take a look at the
interior. Right when I hop into this Platinum
Reserve package I do notice the nice tanned leather interior. It's a gorgeous
brown and it does have the quilted inserts throughout.
It is a six-way power adjustable driver's seat with the lumbar support
and it does have two memory positions for your driver and for your outside
mirrors. So let's start up the Rogue and take a
look at some of the features. As long as the intelligent key is in the
car I just need to put my foot on the brake and push the start button.
It didn't really change much as far as the wheel goes from the 2017 model. It
does have the nice d-shaped wheel which is going to give you a lot of leg
room. Our Bluetooth and our radio controls are
on the wheel and it is a leather wrapped steering wheel.
The intelligent cruise control does come in these SL models.
So basically what that is is it's going to use the forward facing camera and the
technology. You can set the car lengths of where you
want to be behind the car in front of you
and as you have the cruise control on it's going to automatically adjust your
speed for you to keep that optimal distance from the car in front of you.
And then of course my Bluetooth answer calls and make calls use the voice
commands. Lots of different things you can do
with the voice command buttons as well. Being the top model it does come
with every safety feature that Nissan has to offer
including the forward emergency braking, the blind spot monitoring system, the
lane departure warning, as well as the moving object detection
using your backup camera. Okay so not too many changes to the
8-inch screen here. I can see the display is a little bit
more vivid. It seems to be a little quicker
as I flow and navigate through the screens. The pixel ratio of the LED
screen looks a little bit higher so it gives for a little clearer
letters and photos as I cycle through here.
But tons of things I can do with the infotainment system. Obviously I have a
video going through all that but I can use
the Sirius satellite radio. So I can sync my phone via Bluetooth. I
can also connect to nearby Wi-Fi connections using the infotainment
system here. I can do things with the Sirius XM like
my sports, my weather, my stocks, different things with your
Sirius XM subscription. Another cool feature I can use is the
Nissan Connect app that's on my phone. So I can basically
do things like remote start my car from a distance,
GPS track my car right from my phone, and lock and unlock the doors. Which is
all works in connection with the infotainment system. So it does come with
the SL Platinum, this Nissan GPS navigation system.
Very similar to the one in last year's model. One thing I do notice is they made
these bottom menu buttons a little bit opaque.
So I do get a wider viewing of my map and then of course I can
zoom in and zoom out and move things around and see all my points of
interest right on the map here. Really cool feature in this SL package
they did add the around view monitor. So same as last year's model however the
forward facing camera does have the moving object detection. So it's going to
alert you if something is moving. And my guidance lines are a little bit
easier on the around view monitor as well.
The backup camera comes on automatically when I put it in reverse and then I do
have the same with the rear cross traffic alert. It's a
very nice same dual temperature control system that Nissan has in all their
models. I just put it into automatic mode and the fans are going to
automatically come on to get to the temperature that I set here.
Perfect if you want to be hot and your girlfriend wants to be
warm on the other side. So no changes really to the rear
of the seat when going from the 17 to 18 models.
You can see the gorgeous tan leather is predominant throughout.
Everybody's favorite feature in these rogues is the divide and hide storage
system. I can adjust this shelving unit to fit
whatever I need. Very simple to use. There's a ton of
different configurations and it's going to make it very versatile
to stop your cargo and keep everything organized. I can take them right out.
They're just tethered on here if I want the extra trunk space.
And then our spare tire is right below. With the seats folded down I do have a
ton of room for big items. If I'm shopping at Ikea or doing some
renovations on my home I can fit whatever I need in the rear.
So thank you very much for watching another video. If you have any questions
about the 2018 Nissan Rogue don't hesitate to contact me or ask me
in the comment section below. Thank you.
