Well it's a new day We are already in Oslo the capital here of Norway
As you saw were here the first night more or less just taking a little walk
And since we're going to finish the trip it ends tomorrow so we're going to take one last tour of the capital
It's a little capital meaning it's nothing like other European capitals like Berlin Madrid Paris you know
Then it's relatively quick to see you can see it in a day unless you want to make visits I don't know visit museums palaces and so on
May it take more time which is the city itself
You can see a lot quickly actually The last time were here ten days ago we covered most of it
That's great today we'll take a walk like that in general so since the most characteristic places are along the main roads we'll surely pass by those areas again
So nothing else we're in a hotel well we closed yesterday trams and everything else
The truth is that we really enjoyed the entire northern part of Norway
And well we're going to end in a more relaxed way as you'll see I'm still wearing the same clothes
Thank goodness the camera doesn't capture smells because let's face it Alex is enduring quite a lot here
I do get it
It's well understood
He is enjoying it there are days when he doesn't even have to go eat afterwards
And I'm going to show you the hotel where we are which is called City Box Oslo
It's a hostel with quite large common areas good for making your own meals and stuff it's very good
And the room is surprisingly good for what Oslo is which is quite expensive
And this hotel is one of the cheapest and is very good
This room here is spacious meaning it's even better than what you need
There she is our waitress showing us what we'll get for a fair price
There it is perfect very nice
Well that's it like that
Now let's see how to jump out the window
Sorry this is the bathroom
At least we have our own bathroom which hasn't been common on this trip
So this is appreciated having a simple little bath but a good one
Two beds also quite important
And nothing else just very normal ordinary views but the good thing is that it's right in the center
Well we've been taking 5 minutes from the central train station
Here is the main street the main thoroughfare here
Here is Carl Johan it's like the main street
It starts from the train station and goes all the way straight to the palace
Then we are at 1 minute 30 seconds
The city of Oslo was founded around the year 1000 by the Vikings
And since then it has been evolving but this city is not in the same place today
Because in 1624 it caught fire and practically everything was lost
It had to be rebuilt and was built a bit closer to the current Oslo fortress
By King Christian IV who was the king of Denmark and Norway
And so in his honor it was renamed Christiana
Until 1925 when it regained its original name
When Sweden and Norway had already become unlinked which had been connected until then
Since the early 19th century
If you have time and like street art I highly recommend you visit the Brennerivegen area
It is located in the northeast of the city of Oslo
Here you will find a few streets a generally quite alternative area
With walls covered in graffiti but with quite a bit of style
And the truth is that this alternative different vibe the atmosphere there is really worth it
You will also find places to have a drink eat and in general you can spend a large part of the day here
Next to the bay you will find Akershus Fortress
One of the most important historical sites in the city of Oslo
It is a military complex strategically located next to the Oslo fjord
It was founded in the Middle Ages as a royal castle that also served as a seat for the king's representatives
The complex is open to the public it has no entrance fee
Although you will see that there are several military personnel protecting the entrance as it still has military functions
And its protection is the king's guard
It also houses some museums such as the Museum of the Armed Forces
The Museum of Resistance and the Ministries of Defense and Environment
Oslo
We are at one of the last places we are going to visit here in Oslo and generally on the trip
What is Dekkeberg Park
It's to the east of the city very close by it's right next to it
It takes about 20 minutes from for example the Oslo Opera
And it's very good because it's like a small hill about 115 to 120 meters high
Then well it's a good excuse if you have extra time to come here for a quick visit
The landscape is very nice Now in winter as you can see it is completely snowed over
This is the viewpoint where we are in the park which was the place Edvard Munch used as inspiration for his famous painting The Scream
In fact if you look at the back of the painting it's practically this
It's just that the colors are much more well blurred
But anyway it's from a viewpoint that's in this place
In fact there is a sign that marks it
And there is even a frame in which well you can get inspired by what painting is
This small hill park next to Oslo is also known for its petroglyphs
Sculptures located along the park especially in the upper part
Then when you reach the top which is like a plateau at the end
Be careful Ariadna in the winter because we are slipping here
We haven't fallen yet by some miracle but I don't rule out the possibility of us falling at some point
But anyway it's very good because it's full of quite interesting sculptures
Modernist figures representing some rather interesting scenes Very highly
recommended if you're coming through this area
This is where this trip to Norway ends
A country I have loved
I'm sure I'll come back because there's still so much of the country left to discover
We have discovered the Svalbard Islands we have made snowmobiles ice caves
Hiking through mountains in the most remote places on Earth
We have been on dog sleds and have spent nights in ice hotels
We have visited the most impressive places in Tromsø Senja and that whole area
In general and at the northern lights
In general a lot of new things activities that we have done that we hadn't done before
And well it's been a dream
So nothing else I highly recommend that you come here to Norway
I hope you enjoyed these videos
Anything as always you can leave me in the comments or on social media
And nothing I will be happy to answer you
So find it out for yourselves you'll love it
Goodbye see you next time
