Live Bait Fishing For Barramundi In Far North Queensland

Thank you for dropping a comment as you guys know I try to get back to every one of your comments so much love for that and thank you for subscribing If you have already now this episode is a bit different since the wind has been so shitty this week in Cairns I haven't been gone. I haven't been able to go out like out to a reef or anything So what we are going to do today for the next two days. I'm only using live baits. That's pretty much it I've never fished with live baits before especially in Queensland. So we are targeting barramundi Yeah, but if you don't catch a barramundi, I just want that rod to scream So I don't care what jumps on the line, but if we do catch a barramundi, I'll take it home I'll cook a nice recipe because I've never tried it before. I've never caught one before I've never used live baits to catch fish. So we'll see what happens So the first thing that we're gonna do is try find some live bait we've got the casting net here We're gonna have a couple of throws. I haven't really thrown the casting net for about three weeks now So, I don't know if I'm gonna remember how to throw it. I've seen a lot of bait up along these banks here So I'm gonna test it out, throw the casting a couple of times, get my rhythm back and then we'll go get some live bait **** this current is just pushing me so much Wrap this around my hand see Live bait container ready boys. Let's see how hard it is to get some live bait today. I'm gonna throw it pretty close to this bank It's super shallow here **** the tides coming in so it's gonna start filling We're throwing the casting net Six seven times there nothing **** I hope we don't The key is to find this to find this live bait, you know as quick as we can find it really so we can start fishing for them I'm just gonna keep trying and trying and trying As I threw the net I seen a nice mullet drive off Takes a bit of time catching these live bait doesn't it? That's fishing. Yeah, we've got one little prawn I have like 15 throws Super hard on your own because you gotta you're moving so quick to try get the boat in a good position to throw, you know We're gonna keep trying one prawn That's all we got Man, I'm sweating hard Two live baits will be plenty Never know we might catch catch a barra and a cast net. I've known People have told me they've caught barra and a cast net before so put down in the comment section if you've ever caught it like a nice decent fish in the cast net There's got to be liveys around here for sure Go for a walk with the casting net. What do you reckon? Oh this ******* live bait, look at the stingray You can see in there Let's hide the boat up I'm gonna go for a bit of a walk find like little puddles like little inlets that I could throw this cast net in Maybe it'd be a bit easier on foot This is a nice size. Chuck him on a bait, on a hook So far so good. Sort of look like a vibe so they should work. I don't know just trying to find somewhere good To um, park the boat Heard they hang around these mangroves here like a close up to the banks. Yeah I'm gonna be using a 7-0 circle hook put down in the comment section If um, what hooks do you use for live baiting and we're gonna use the biggest one looks like this guy here Just on top like that There he goes. I just heard a barramundi come out the water just at that tree where I was gonna stop at the first time ****, do you know how they make that like when they, when they go to strike something it makes it like at the water Jesus Christ, that's exactly what it was. Come on. I want this one to scream, please. Please scream for us Ideal bait you want to use Or live bait you want to use for barra is like mullets, small mullets fine. This sort of ---- that I'm using I don't know if it's really good But like I said, I'm gonna try it out. Never know what's gonna happen today. I'm hanging to eat one. I can't wait Really curious to see what they taste like I think that's our sign to make a move hey Whenever you're putting on sunscreen on your body and you're gonna rig up just say you're live bait Make sure you always clean your hands first get all that sunscreen off then put your live bait on because the fish Obviously can sense and smell and they won't even eat your live bait. Everything's all secure Straps are on There is a lot of people fishing This bank a lot of people. The bloke this morning was catching a lot of brim. That's it Wasn't the best days that I've had but you know what I'm learning how to catch barramundi Learning how to do all this so I'm not a professional I've got one more day tomorrow We'll be up bright and early. I'll see you then Look at the boat man ------- on its ass pretty much the tides coming in so Look at it **** me Fellas we've made it out first thing we're gonna do is I'm gonna drive straight to the front I need some live bait and then I'm gonna throw live baits in the mouth now We caught some massive tarpon in the mouth and now they catch some big trevally and I know they catch ------- barramundi in here too. So we've got a good chance of cleaning up boys. Don't rule out. We can catch a mangrove Jack Who knows what's gonna happen? Yeah, I know there's some bait going around but this is where we want to be We're gonna fish in this mouth right here, but we need some bait first. There's a ---- ton of bait right here Just change it John I Don't know if these are good to use a bit small I'll do a tarpon I think It'll look like tarpon Maybe we could use a bit of tarpon, eh? All right, we've got a few liveys now, look at this beautiful live baits ------- perfect. Look how these drops Who knows it will get here probably a Queenie or something. I Don't know. We're just gonna give it a crack. Look at this man a couple of small marks Eh, I don't know how to do something. Just go out and try it. Even if you don't know How to do it **** like I'm not a professional, you know before this sort of stuff But I'm still getting out giving it a crack because why not? You know what I mean? Go and have fun. Enjoy it It's not all about catching fish. Don't get me wrong. You want to hear the rod? It's all about getting out learning and see how you can get better for next time you go Swimming Maybe they are too small To use so we might need to get some more bait. We'll see. I'm gonna give it 10 minutes here Oh, we'll try get some bigger bait. I'm sweating There's fish jumping all around me What? How? It's still swimming, I think it's just a touch too small for we're gonna find some bigger bait I think Hold a Seen some big baits in here, but I'm just struggling to ******* get him It's hard to drive the boat through the casting net very hard You got a more yeah, ****. Yeah I'm just after one nice mullet or something man. I cannot get it struggling ******* struggling In this shallows they see me too quicker than they go soon as I throw it They swim off. I'm done looking for live bait. We've got enough We've got a couple in there We're gonna go to a spot now and see if we can catch a fish ------- struggled on the live bait man. I've got to learn that throwing the cast net. It's hard That had half its body taken off. Holy ****. What do you reckon? That was laying there. I Just kept going Just jumped over there And that's a small live bait It's got a hit on this get fucked look at all this bait I'm gonna throw the casting net down there Don't be kidding me man Look at them all Look at all these live baits At the end of the day, yeah, go back in Perfect live baits look at that Two days chasing barramundi with only using live baits part one is wrapped up Yes, this is a series So we're gonna keep these series going in probably I'll do another episode in two weeks of this series So stay tuned for that.
