Yard Sailing & Antique Shopping for Vintage / Unique Home Decor Yard Sale Haul and How I Style It

All right, here we go. We're off garage sailing today. We're just walking around my neighborhood and got some of the family here. We got the kids loaded up. So let's go see what treasures we can find. They look vintage. They are. Really cute. Is it like a piggy bank? Well this one does have a small hole in it. Okay. And then they don't have their plugs. So is it an actual bank? Yeah, those are actual piggy banks. So I would love to know whether you guys like to go yard sailing and what it is that you really look for when you go. Leave that in a comment below as well. And here I came across quite a nice collection of Christmas stuff. Some of it was actually vintage. Nothing that I guess I thought that I needed to bring home that day. I do have a hard time getting into buying Christmas when it's not this season for it. But I always like to look in case I find one of those rare vintage Santa mugs. These are always cute to decorate with. All right here we are again another weekend and another little trip out to find some yard sales, some estate sales, or some antique stores you never know. But I've got my mom here with me again. Hi guys. And let's see what treasures we can find. We've done a lot of driving. Oh it's so cute though look at chairs are all in really good shape. Yeah it would be fun. I mean I'm gonna think it's just spray paint the whole thing. I mean it's a really good deal for that. Leather pieces are nice to get too. You could do things with them. Now mom look isn't this what you got yesterday? Great. Well after that unfortunate look at that last yard sale we decided to just stop driving around for a little bit looking for yard sales and stop at one of our favorite antique stores. So come along with us as we venture through here and you'll also get to meet how pleasant and joyful these shop owners are. Good morning. Welcome. Good morning. Thank you. Good. Oh she's are you filming our store? Yes. Girl you rock. Make sure you put it on all your outlets. Yes I will. Now this booth is definitely memorable. It is one of my favorite booths in this antique store because I really do love primitive decor style. I just love how simple it is. It just instantly takes me back to like the 16 1700s early American history. All of that that I really find interesting. You'll have to let me know in the comments if you also like primitive decor. And how absolutely stunning was this gasoleer. I wanted to bring it home. Okay so this haul is from I would say a few days. I went garage selling, did some antique shopping. I don't think anything is from the thrift store. It's mostly garage sales and one thing from an antique store. So I'm going to take you in closer and let you get a really good look at things and then we'll go from there. All right how about we start in the end and I'll show you this here which is just a drying rack. A wooden drying rack. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do with it but my mom kind of talked me into getting it. These are kind of cool though. I feel like if I did have a booth or something at one point in time I could use this to display things. If I were to go the resale route I even thought it would look good if I rubbed some antiquing wax on it and gave it some age but for now I don't have any specific plans for it. But it was two dollars so I picked that up at a garage sale. And then here I just found a really nice wooden tray. It's nice and big. I thought this would be fun to put on the end of a bed. I was even thinking maybe I could do a project with it with some of my IOD transfers or stamps or something. So we shall see if I get around to doing that or if I'll just we'll leave it the wood tone because I think that's kind of pretty too. And I think this was a dollar. All right and check out this beautiful old fringy lamp. I found this at a garage sale and I loved it. I just I've been wanting a lamp with fringe so I was really excited when I saw this. I cleaned it all up. It works. It's in good shape. All the fringe is there and I paid ten dollars for this lamp. Really pretty. I have a couple ideas of where I want to put it so I will definitely show you guys it's styled if I get around to that. Okay oh I forgot I also stopped at a little um I guess it was kind of like a resale store and I found these fringe tassels and I kind of thought maybe I would want something like this to um secure back curtains or something. And so I grabbed two of them and I think they were like three or four dollars a piece. They're really big so that was a good price for those. Also a garage sale find here. This is a really sweet vintage noel thing here. It's really cute. 50 cents on that. Okay so here was my antique store purchase and this was something I don't normally spend this much money on things but I just thought that this was so beautiful. I loved the muted colors in it. I just loved it. I love the frame the age on the frame. It's like a really dusty blue with some gold so the colors are just beautiful. So I did pay 35 for that which was definitely more of a splurge for me anyway but artwork it's kind of one of those things you can't necessarily go wrong with. Vintage artwork but yeah just beautiful piece there. All right and I'll lay this down and show you what's behind it. And it's this really nice large crock. Um I also got this at a yard sale and I paid 15 dollars for it. It's the perfect putty color. You can do so many things with these. I love to put Christmas trees and stuff in them around Christmas time. And then these little wooden balls my mom actually picked up for me. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them if I'm going to paint them or even use them or what but there they are some wooden balls. Great so this was kind of a unique find. It's this kind of oversized chess board as you can see and the lady that I bought it from she actually painted all of these pieces which is crazy. Um she said she did it forever ago and they never really used it so I gave her six dollars for it. But I thought that that would be kind of fun even to sit out on my table here and then just play teach the kids how to play. Um I thought about maybe painting some of it so it fits in with my decor because I feel like they look a little Egyptian or something right now which isn't really my taste. I thought it'd be cool to even paint them like do some black do some white and do some antiquing on them make them look old. I'd paint over this red and just do that solid black. And then I thought it'd be cool to kind of keep it out on my table here as like decor and then to use it to play with. Okay so I also found oh I think my aunt actually found these for me. They're just these really cool old frames here with some cool prints in them. Definitely got some patina on there. And so I got three like that. I'm not even sure how much I paid for these. I want to say they were like 10 cents or something or I think he just gave me a price for everything that I bought together so they weren't priced individually. But I also grabbed this really cute little mug holder. It's solid wood. I thought that was kind of cute. I may paint that. Yeah that was a dollar. All right moving on to some dishes. I thought these were really pretty. This one's really pretty. And last one here. And then at the same sale that I got the crock at he had a lot of really good stuff. My mom really scored at that sale too. But I got this really cool big one gallon glass jar with a wooden handle. I thought that was pretty neat. Five dollars for that. And then he also had these plates which I am in love with. Look at all the crazing on there and the staining. See this is what I really look for when I look for plates. There's the marking. There's all that staining. I absolutely love these. I'm definitely going to put these out for Christmas. And then a bigger one. And he only won a dollar for each of these. Oh guys don't you just love love love love that staining and crazing. I just love it. Some things just look better stained you know. Okay and this is probably one of my favorite things I've found in a long time. I can't really pick it up because it is very heavy. But it's this planter. The cement planter. There you go. There's the inside. Look at how beautiful she is. I'm definitely going to put her out on the porch. So I'm excited to do my porch makeover here soon. Definitely subscribe if you want to see more of that kind of stuff coming up. Yeah she was twenty dollars and my aunt actually bought her for me. That was really sweet. I cut my aunt's hair for her so we kind of trade off sometimes. Okay and then some books. Just a blue book and another light blue book. Oh and I forgot that I got this. This is another kind of nice piece of art here. I liked the print on this. I think it was two dollars two or three dollars. I really liked the sage green with the gold. These are kind of the colors I was thinking of doing in my bathroom or at least as those are the colors that are in it right now. So I was thinking of maybe even hanging it in there. Or I could even do into my dining room because I have a lot of green sagey greens going on in here. All right and then I also picked up this sweet little thing here. Let me grab the chain. Glass and it's got pressed flowers. Really pretty and I think he charged me a dollar for that. Love that. Okay I saw this wooden shelf and this thing is heavy duty. Oh this is like a solid shelf for sure. But it was only a dollar and I thought I don't know maybe I can find somewhere to put this. I thought it was kind of nice for a So I brought that home. All right guys that is the haul. So hopefully I can get this styled for you.
