if you have a bmw 3 series that starts very slow check it out transmission light is on
we're going to explain guys what causes that and how to fix it so stay with us
hey guys welcome back to electrical car repair live thank you guys for watching and subscribing
to the channel in today's video guys we'll demonstrate if you have a bmw 3 series i'm
talking about e90 e91 92 93 and you guys have extremely hard start you have transmission light
okay we'll explain what can cause that guys and how to fix it guys the most common reason that
we see here at the shop now before we start quick introduction every single car we get
at the shop we make at least two to three hundred free repair videos guys and specifically on bmw
3 series we will make more than four to five hundred videos in addition all the tools and
parts that we use we share the links in the description of the video below for your convenience
so please check it out guys now that's what we'll be working on why we do all that simply because
our mission in the shop is to save you as much money as we can guys all we need in return please
subscribe to the channel and like the video so we can keep providing that free information
i want to get inside and show you guys how hard that thing will start okay and we will explain
what causes that okay to see if you have similar symptoms as well and we'll guys show you how to
fix it so now you can see we're inside the car i'm going to insert the key and hear what's going
to happen now okay it started guys but transmission fault is right here transmission malfunction
the transmission light will come here as well guys and it will tell us that we have a problem
so definitely guys definitely something's wrong with that thing okay it still says transmission
malfunction there four by four because it's an all-wheel drive oh right there transmission
light is on so uh let's go ahead okay take care of that problem and show you what we need to do
to fix it now so if you guys have a bmw 3 series that starts super slow like we showed you guys
and uh you have transmission light start slow it's not acting good okay we scan the system we got
code 2e94 this code is related to crankshaft position sensor guys uh nine out of ten times
when you get start slowing bmw and transmission light at the same time it's guys okay uh it's
actually the crankshaft position sensor but before we start guys now first i want to show you where
it's located and it could be not the sensor itself and that's why we are making the video
but if you want to see how to get to it and how to do that we have the complete video from start
to finish on the channel how to remove and replace crankshaft position sensor it explains everything
guys you need to remove the intake manifold we have that video as well everything from start
to finish but a few common mistakes people make when working on a crankshaft position sensor they
do not disconnect the car battery guys okay mistake number one super important and you're very close
to the uh this is your engine starter positive wire coming from the battery going to the alternator
as well you're going to be disconnecting your fuel line so if you guys make sparks from touching this
wire to a sensor or a ground wire somewhere you make spark you can catch your car on fire yourself
it's extremely dangerous guys you can short things out you can burn engine computers
modules and cause damage to the electrical system mistake number two people don't know that but on
modern vehicles it really depends uh it really makes a difference which battery terminal you
disconnect and reconnect first so you don't cause more damage to the electrical system guys if you
don't know that we have a special video that explains that which battery terminal to disconnect
and reconnect and i'll try to put the link in the description of the video below with all that
being said if your car doesn't start guys fast and you have transmission line you come right under
the starter and there is one wire this wire is for your crankshaft position sensor often guys this
wire may be a loose wire okay it may not look loose but it's loose guys or broken wire okay
will mimic the symptoms of a bad sensor that's not working correctly and that will happen now
the sensor itself is right there but usually you may have a lot of dust dirt and sand there so you
need to clean and vacuum it before you remove the sensor we will show you now with reverse torques
12 we're going to remove the sensor if it's not a bad wire loose wire or broken connection
somewhere you need to replace your sensor guys but if you you have to verify that you have that code
and the engine light is on and you have a code related to a crankshaft position sensor on your
bmw and uh the code guys will say that the crankshaft sensor signal is missing or something
like that so grab the sensor it may be stuck jiggle it a little bit if it hasn't been removed in a while
it may be really really stuck this is the o-ring that gets stuck and this is guys the sensor itself
that's what can cause that problem uh nine out of ten times that we get that at the shop
new sensor or just reconnecting the wire fixes our problem with no problem guys so
hopefully the video will be helpful thank you for watching please subscribe and see you guys next time
