Come Thrift Shopping with Me at The Flea Market !

Good morning everyone. We're at the Polk County flea market today where there are lots of cool vintage treasures. I've always found like really great vintage jewelry and that's where I found these 1950s party dresses here for an awesome deal. I've got my original wing woman with me today at my mom. Are you excited? I'm excited because my glasses are all dark. We're waiting about five more minutes because we don't want to pay that early bird. It's five dollars to get in now or if you wait if you wait like five minutes then it's only a dollar so we wait. So I went and checked myself out in the bathroom here and I think I'm going to go for it for four bucks. It's really cute and I like the big bow on it. Do you need a hat for that? Um yeah please. This is cool. It's the exact color I wanted. I was after green or like a cobalt blue this year. Oh here's one of those purses I want. It looks like it's missing the handle though. Yeah I want that one with the big loop on it. Mom did you see this thing? I wonder what that is. That's cool. What is that? I don't know. It's like real hair and stuff. Like a ceremonial. It's an item of interest. It's under the glass case. Yeah she was thinking of putting my earrings in here. So cute. It's totally art deco. I love the little black like go with everything. So cute. Would you do 15 for her? Okay. Oh thank you. Yeah if you have some newspaper. 17 dollars. I've been wanting one of those for years. It's been on like my eBay wish list of things that I want and haven't found yet and now she found me. You know tell them why you're a good wing woman. Because I get big and it sheds to look. To look better. People get pushy. We're gonna go back into the busiest building. We didn't find anything back here. So hopefully we'll find some stuff again. There's like another wing too in this big building. Yeah. Hi. Hi. Mom scored a treasure for Laura. Isn't that nice? What did you say? It's a lully thing with a bird on it. Laura will like it. She'll like it. Another thing we're ready is these old bunnies. That's cute. If you have a little big kid's room. Little kid's room. Put that in the kid's room. What are these ladies doing? It's like they're having a little play or something. Oh yeah. Little beaded gloves. Whoa what's this cat thing? What is that? That's kind of funny. Okay. We don't make quilt things. What's that? Wow that looks really old isn't it? Chinese altar piece. That's cool. Wouldn't this be neat if you drill holes in there and you put it up on a vent in your house. Yeah that would be cool. Mom spotted something. My mom wanted to make sure that you saw these hairy boots. That's gross. Oh look at these. Wow those are pretty. Oh I like that one right there. That double turquoise. No way. Are you serious? Or like a hundred and twenty. Oh we have to look in here mom. There's some cool ones huh? As you can see it's Halloween. My favorite time of year. So I've got stuff all around me. I have a bunch of crap in front of me from the flea market. I just met my mom over there. It's kind of a great spot in the middle for us to meet up and I love going picking with my mama and I found some really fun stuff. Got a couple like grab bags. I don't even know like what is in here yet. I'm always looking for chains and this lady had a whole bag of chains for three bucks at the flea market and I like having these like in my stash just in case you find like really cool pendants which I did. I found this kind of cool Turkish style pendant at the market. It was like a quarter. So just put those little jump rings on here. Attach it to a chain and it's like an amazing necklace and then I also picked up this really cool Victorian brooch there. This was only a and it is broken and it needs to be cleaned. It's pretty dirty but I love like the old filigree and it's got that great old patina on it too which I am a huge fan of. So this is like a good example of a piece you could add another jump ring to and then hang from a chain and make like a really beautiful necklace out of it. So that's very cool. Lots of these pieces I got for our future recycled life jewelry sale and Laura and I have been having a lot of fun like making new things too. So I picked up these bench beads. I think they might be sterling silver. I'm going to test them but they're old vintage ones. So I picked up a little bag of those and then these beads were also really cool. They have like turquoise and coral on them it looks like with silver and these like conical beads that you usually put like back by the clasp. So I picked those up as well. Um I think that oh I wanted to dig in here. I don't know if I can like wait. I should have done like a digging video with you huh or we could like dump out all this stuff and just dig around. Oh that's cool. I have all kinds of other stuff. You don't have time to sit with me for like an hour and dig do you? My mom also picked this up for Laura because Laura likes little wooly things and this had a bird on it so I'm sure she's going to be excited about that. Uh this is another cuff. I think you'll see me trying it on in the video. I had some audio problems. I didn't realize my microphone was off for half of this video but at least you get to see what the market was like. This is a cuff I picked up there and let's see. I also got this one there. This is like natural agate and it's all bezel set. More than a couple crosses. I think I got three big crosses. I got this really cool Ethiopian one and then I got this gold really heavy metal. It's like a filigree cross. This one's super heavy. One is just costume piece and it's vintage but it's faux turquoise and I thought it was really pretty because you can wear it reversible so it's like filigree all on that side and then with like the faux turquoise on this side and it's like a big honker too. I like that one a lot and then what else did I get? This is so fun like I love when you go picking you like forget half the stuff you got and then you come home and it's like yeah I gotta dig again. Oh yeah he's cool. This gold thunderbird necklace. That guy's pretty neat huh? This piece I got for myself. I'm not reselling this one but I think that this is probably like from the 30s and this was bloodstone jasper and it's this really neat longer length like flapper necklace and it is signed on the back so I'm gonna look this one up but it's really nice quality. I think this is like I think it's brass I think brass looks like brass and copper on the back but I love all the beading on it and like these longer like rectangular lengths in it too and like I said it's gonna be like a really great like longer like flapper style length. That one is really really cool. I got this one for only 20 bucks which for me is like oh it's like 20 bucks you know like that was like a bigger spend right but you know when you're keeping something for yourself you gotta splurge a little bit. This beautiful dress I mean it's not like super fancy or anything but it's like this really soft gauzy linen-y fabric and it's got like this gorgeous embroidery on the bottom. I think the lady told me that these were Ethiopian from the same booth as well so she had a whole pile of them but I just picked the one that I thought was the best and the prettiest so I got this dress for only five bucks and it's like so soft it'll be like great for a hot summer day. So this has been on my wish list for years and of course I had like the pink one on my wish list but you know when like the thing finds you it's like I'm not gonna be picky about color like just give it to me. So here she is. Oh isn't that cool? This is totally art deco. These are like the kind of nudes that I really love. It's a nude but it's very elegant and cool. So this is like that really jet black glass and it's this really shallow tray. I'm not sure if this was like an ashtray back in the day but I'm actually going to put this in the bathroom because I think it's supposed to be looking like a lady getting into the bathtub. You see the ripples right there? I think she's like sitting on the edge like thinking about it and she's gonna do it but I'm gonna put this in my bathroom and I thought it would be perfect like when I take little stud earrings off or my rings to put them in this little dish like these earrings.
