Hey, welcome back.
As you can see, this is a sewing video.
Although I'm not going to show you too much of my sewing,
just a little bit,
because this was not a tutorial on how to do it.
I just wanted to show you the dresses that I made
in our Saturday,
in our video called Saturday Life.
I believe it was called Saturday Life.
Ah, I'm not even sure.
But anyways, it was one of our last videos.
I showed you this dress that I had just made.
For me, I hadn't tried it on.
And so I want to try it on today for you.
And then I also, I was, in that video,
I was cutting out a dress for each of my girls,
for Chloe and Avalon.
So, and this was, this is Chloe's dress.
I just made some really simple dresses.
Now, I actually did not really have a pattern
for Avalon's dress,
because she grew so much in the last year,
I couldn't use an older pattern.
But I kind of looked off one of her other dresses
that she has that fit,
and I tried to make a pattern
out of just looking off of her dress.
So her dress, I feel, did not turn out the best.
It maybe doesn't fit quite right in certain areas,
but it's still fine.
It'll be fine for this year as she wears it.
And this actually is her dress.
She has butterflies in the bottom of her skirt,
and lots of butterflies,
and her top is exactly same as mine.
And in the back, I put on these,
because I didn't have my zippers,
all the zippers I had
were only like five to seven inches long,
and they weren't long enough for the dresses.
So I had some of these snaps.
I don't even know what you call them,
but they're some kind of snaps that you,
they're two pieces on either side,
and you have to, I actually have to use a hammer
to hammer them together.
And then you just, they snap together like that.
And I had these ever since I was,
even before I was married, I believe.
You get them like in Mennonite stores,
or fabric stores, or Amish fabric stores.
They're just these, they're almost,
these are like little glass, black.
They're black, and they're, I think it's like glass almost.
And so I just put on these snaps for them.
And then here is Chloe's dress.
And this one I also put on.
These are just have like little white ring snaps
that I put on.
And this one is all the same color
because I just did not have anything to match with it.
Plus it's, yeah, it's just a lot of, a lot of print.
I actually realized that for me,
I'm not, I tend to go for solid colors.
And I think it's partly because I grew up with solid colors.
You could never wear print.
And you would think I'd want to go for print.
But I don't know, solid colors are just clean,
and you can just pair more things with it, I guess.
So that's why I kind of tend to go for solid colors.
But these turned out to be, have a lot of print on them
because that's what I had on hand.
So in a little while after Avalon gets home from school,
we'll try on these dresses and we'll let you see them.
They're nothing spectacular, but they were fun to make.
It's been a long time since I just sat down and sewed.
And I think altogether, these three dresses
took me almost, almost 10 hours from start to finish,
like cutting them out and sewing them.
So yeah, I'll do that for you.
We will dress up and show you how it looks on us.
So I still wanted to show you a little bit of my sewing.
And here I'm just putting on Chloe's tiny little sleeve.
I had to gather them first and then I sew it on
and then I zigzag over it so that it doesn't fray.
This material frays quite easily.
So I did a lot of zigzagging for their dresses.
So here I am ironing Avalon's blouse.
The seams, I'm ironing them down
because I double layered the top.
And so I ironed the seams down very good.
And so it's not bulky or anything.
And the inside of the blouse,
I had to use another color for the front part
because I ran out of that olive green material.
So I just used another color on it
and no one will know because it's on the inside.
So here I'm putting on the snaps for Avalon's dress
and I had to measure the distance between each snap
so that they were the same distance apart.
And here I'm just pressing them together, both ends,
and then I'll lay them down here on the cutting board.
And then I have this little gadget
that came with these snaps that I use, that I put on top.
And then I'll take the hammer and hammer on top of that.
And it, the snaps just go inside of each other
and then they stay.
So that's the way it is.
I don't even know where you can get these snaps
for sure anymore because I've gotten these a long time ago.
Welcome to our channel.
I'm gonna leave.
Okay guys, here we are.
We dressed up just for you.
I have a cute dress.
Yes, you do, girly.
Yeah, so we just dressed up for you, put on our dresses.
Can you turn around, girls,
so they can see all the way around?
We'll probably wear this sometime on a Sunday or something.
And it was really fun sewing again.
I haven't done it for a while
and I see I need some more practice because yeah,
didn't, I don't think I did the greatest job,
but it's okay, they work.
So thanks again so much for watching.
We love all of you guys.
Thank you for taking the time with us.
We really appreciate you all.
God bless.
