I am brave, I can do this.
This is gonna be a really cool experience.
Good morning, everyone.
It is currently 8.52 a.m.
We are starting a two-day trip today,
and let me tell you, oh my gosh,
I am so dang excited for this trip and for this layover.
It is going to be so much fun,
and I'm doing something that I have never done before.
Today is also a wonderful day
because it is Miss Luna's birthday.
Luna, if you are new to my channel,
is mine and my boyfriend Eric's golden retriever.
She turned four today,
and she is just the most wonderful dog in the world.
She brings so much love and joy into our lives.
I'm really sad that I'm not with Eric and Luna today
to celebrate her, but mama's gotta work.
The first flight I'm doing today
is from Dallas to Tucson, Arizona,
and I actually will be deadheading on that flight,
which means I will still be considered working crew,
but I sit in a passenger seat.
So let's head inside and get this day started.
I just boarded my deadhead flight to Tucson, Arizona,
and I just finished reading this book, y'all.
It was amazing, called Verity by Colleen Hoover.
Oh my goodness, you guys, this is hands down
probably top five, one of the best books I've ever read.
We are going to fly to Tucson, Arizona,
and then right back to Dallas.
I'll see you all then.
Quick update, so we worked the flight
from Tucson back to Dallas, and everything was smooth.
It was a little under two hours long,
and then we actually had a two-hour break.
I did not realize that we had sick time
when we got back to Dallas,
so I've just been hanging out in our crew room,
and now I'm going to head to our final flight for tonight,
which is from Dallas to West Palm Beach, Florida.
Good morning, everyone,
from beautiful West Palm Beach, Florida.
Last night, we were a little bit delayed in Dallas
because our airplane that we took here to Florida
had a little bit of a mechanical issue,
but we were able to get that fixed pretty quickly,
and we landed here at about 11.30 p.m.
It's almost 8 a.m. right now,
and my friend Kate, who lives here in Florida,
is on her way to pick me up.
I'm sure some of you remember her.
She has been in a few of my different vlogs
here from Florida.
She's one of my really good friends from college gymnastics,
and we're about to go do something a little bit crazy.
I just finished getting ready.
I have on just these jean shorts and a bathing suit top.
I might throw on a tank top over my bathing suit.
I'm not sure yet.
Just being here is really taking me back
to around this time last year,
Eric and I actually took a vacation here in West Palm Beach.
It was so much fun.
We had such a great trip.
Reminiscing on that trip
and thinking about what I'm about to go do today
is really making me want to start planning my next vacation.
One of the best perks about being an airline employee
is receiving discounts on travel-related items
other than flights.
I did want to share with you all a way
that you all can receive the same industry-wide deals
and discounts that I have
without even being an airline employee.
It's through ID90 Travel.
You can go to their website or download their app.
For it to work, you just have to click the link
in my description box below
and make an account with ID90 Travel.
By doing that, you will have access to hotels,
cars, resorts, cruises, and different discounts
that are normally only applicable to airline employees,
and you will get $10 off your next trip.
So really, you have absolutely nothing to lose
by creating an account,
and I just really wanted to share this opportunity
with you all.
Kate is almost here, so I'm heading downstairs now.
You guys, I am about to knock off a bucket list item.
There she is!
This time last year, I had a trip here in,
it was Miami with Kate,
and we saw a shark when we were in the ocean.
Kate was in the water!
I was in the water, and I just almost got eaten by a shark,
so that's fine.
It was scary then, and we were running away from it,
and guess what we're doing this year?
We're going shark diving.
We're going shark diving,
and we're actually going to purposefully see the sharks.
I am so excited, but also slightly terrified.
We made it out to the spot.
We're about to get our snorkel gear on,
and go dive with some sharks.
Chess put on this wetsuit.
I have these socks that I'll wear too
with the flippers, gloves, snorkels.
Okay, I see the shark fin.
I can do this, I can do this, I can do this, I can do this.
I am brave, I can do this.
This is gonna be a really cool experience.
I can do this.
All right, here we go.
Stepping off the boat right now,
and I think we're gonna head to lunch soon,
but oh my gosh.
That was one of the most incredible things
I think I've ever done in my life.
It was just actually really peaceful
being in the water with the sharks.
They're just incredible creatures,
and this one's like a pro over here.
But yeah, it was, yeah, they're friends.
It was just absolutely amazing,
and our crew was absolutely wonderful.
We went through Shark Tours Florida,
so I will make sure to put their website
and Instagram and all of that stuff below.
Oh my gosh, my hair after swimming in the ocean
and being on the boat, it's just crazy.
We came to a restaurant called Three Natives,
and I got this acai bowl and a chicken salad wrap.
It looks delicious.
I'm so excited to eat all of this fresh fruit.
And I also got this green juice, not my favorite.
I'm back at my hotel room now.
That was such a unique and incredible experience.
Wow, my mind is blown.
We had a phenomenal crew out on the boat with us.
All of them were seriously so passionate
about diving and about the sharks,
and they just truly love them,
which was just so cool to see people out there
just doing what they love
and sharing their passion with others.
We have two hours until our pickup to head to the airport.
So in the meantime, I'm going to shower, get ready for work.
My room is just about all picked up.
It looks like I really lucked out with weather this morning
with it being super sunny because now it's cloudy
and it looks like a storm is coming through.
I forgot to tell you all, but on the dive today,
we saw a total of five sharks.
Three of them were lemons and two were sandbars.
I think it was, where's my phone?
I wrote it down on my phone because I forgot.
Two of the lemons were female and one was male.
It was one of the most surreal and just incredible things
that I have ever done in my life.
As you all know, I love the ocean.
I love being in the water.
It's where I just feel like so happy and so peaceful.
So to just share that water with those majestic creatures,
it was just out of this world, amazing.
But what I will say is I did freak out a little bit.
Like when the sharks would get super close to me,
I would start to panic,
but then I tried to remember what the guides were telling us
and they were saying, don't freak out.
Like don't go flailing your arms, don't go splashing water.
Just relax and remain calm.
Anyways, it was something that I truly enjoyed.
And honestly, I think I will definitely do it again.
I just need to get my shoes on
and finish packing up my room,
but we are doing two flights today.
The first is from West Palm Beach
to Charlotte, North Carolina.
And then the second is from Charlotte back home to Dallas.
Also, before I forget, I wanted to let you all know
that one of our amazing guides from the dive today
named Ryan Walton actually has a YouTube channel.
I'll make sure to link it in my description box below.
Unfortunately, playtime is over
and it's time to head to work.
This is one of those layovers that I just did not want to end.
It was so much fun.
I love being here in Florida.
I love all of my layovers here
and obviously getting to see my friend Kate,
but it's time to go to work now.
We are at the West Palm Beach airport now.
Our inbound aircraft just got here.
So now we are just hanging out and waiting
so then we can board our flight to Charlotte.
I love when airports have such big windows
so you can look out and see all of the planes.
I think it's awesome.
All right, I think they are ready for us now.
So I'm going to head over to the gate and board my flight.
One flight down, one to go.
We had to change aircrafts
after our flight that landed here in Charlotte.
So now we are about to work our last flight of the night
from Charlotte back to Dallas.
For our last flight of the night, we are on an Airbus.
And for those of you who always ask me,
Airbus is my favorite.
I love Airbus over Boeing.
Okay, and listen,
I know a lot of you might flame me in the comments
because there are so many people
who prefer Boeing over Airbus,
but for me as a flight attendant,
I have just always preferred Airbus.
It's a smoother ride from takeoff to landing.
And I don't know why,
but I just feel like there's more room on Airbus than Boeing.
That's for narrow body aircraft specifically.
I've only been on wide bodies that are Boeing.
So like the Boeing 777-300, 200 and the Boeing 787.
I have not been on any of the Airbus wide bodies before.
It's just such a beautiful aircraft.
Y'all, I still can't believe
that I actually swam with the sharks today.
I feel like I definitely faced a fear on this layover
and I completed an item on my bucket list.
I'm super proud of myself.
And I hope you all enjoyed getting
to virtually swim with the sharks with me.
Made it back to Dallas safe and sound.
And right now I'm walking to my car.
I had to park in the normal terminal parking for this trip
because I messed up.
I was running so late yesterday
that I was not gonna have enough time
to drive all the way to the employee parking lot
and then take the bus into the airport.
Because that really does add about an extra 20,
sometimes 25 minutes just to get into the airport.
And I was running really late.
I didn't wanna risk being late for my sign in.
So I just had to bite the bullet and park in the terminal,
which is a bit of a bummer because I have to pay for it,
but it's my own fault.
Now, if I were to have been on time, like I usually am,
and I could have just parked in the employee lot,
that doesn't cost me any money,
but parking up here in the regular terminal parking does.
I was walking the wrong direction,
but I finally made it to my car.
So I am going to pack it all up and head home.
