I cannot believe we are really getting hurricane.
I am literally so unprepared right now.
I can't actually figure out everyone's placement,
but we'll have that figured out in the next day or so.
We're still five days away,
and this gas station doesn't have any gas.
Hey, Farm Team!
Welcome back to my channel.
For those of you that are new,
welcome, welcome to today's vlog.
We have such a busy day today.
Like, it's almost exhausting to think about
how much we have to do today,
how many errands we have to run,
because if you guys haven't seen the news,
or even, it probably doesn't even matter
to a bunch of you guys
just because you don't live near, around,
or even in Florida,
or the surrounding states that get affected by hurricanes.
But, we have a hurricane,
and at this point in time, actually,
when I'm filming this,
it's not even technically a hurricane yet.
It is expected to be a major hurricane, though.
It was a Tropical Depression 9, is what it was called,
and then overnight, last night,
it did get turned into Tropical Storm Ian,
so they're still expecting it to be a hurricane,
so Hurricane Ian.
So we have so much to do today
to get everybody ready and everything like that,
and also for us in general
and the things we have to do today,
so I'm gonna be taking you along with us
because that's kind of what's happening,
and I threw a little bit of a wrench in our weekend
because it's technically my birthday weekend,
so now we're focusing on different things,
but that's all right.
We actually have never had a hurricane
that I can remember this close to my birthday,
so that's a little bit different,
but anyways, we need to go ahead and get started
because we're kind of running late.
We were up really late last night,
so we slept in a bit,
but the first step is, of course,
if you guys are excited for today's video,
make sure you go and give this video a big thumbs up.
Don't forget to subscribe to my channel below.
Make sure you turn on those post notifications
so you don't miss any of these videos,

to get my post notification shout-out.
Got my water.
Mike's already in the truck waiting for me
because we got a late start,
and there's so much to do, you guys.
So little hours.
Here's the man, the myth, the legend,
and I won't even focus on him.
Okay, so first stop, we have to go and get a generator,
so that's what we're doing,
and we don't typically, well,
I'm not gonna say we don't typically ever use generators.
We just don't have a generator.
We haven't had a storm
that really has needed a generator in a couple years.
Not saying that this one will need one,
but we've been wanting to get one
since we've been homeowners.
We just never have,
and then every hurricane season,
we kind of think about it, wish we had one.
So we're just biting the bullet.
We are getting a generator,
and we are mainly concerned about getting the generator
just because if we lose power, we lose our water,
meaning that we can't fill up our water troughs and such
for the horses and all the other animals.
So we have two cases of water back there.
That's just for our general use,
but you guys are gonna see some raw footage
of panic in Florida,
and we are literally five days away from this storm,
and I can't even call it a hurricane yet.
By the time that I post this,
it probably will be upgraded to a hurricane,
but even as of right now,
you're gonna see the lines for gas stations,
the lack of water.
It is crazy.
If you don't live in Florida,
you don't know what I'm talking about
unless you live in Texas, Louisiana,
or other states that actually get hurricanes,
and this type of stuff happens,
but hurricane season
are when there's just a little glimpse
of a hurricane being announced.
People are crazy, and I understand.
It's good to be prepared, so that's what we're doing.
We're being prepared,
but it gets so weird and frustrating
when people go so crazy and take everything else,
and nobody else can have anything,
but I'm just gonna show you guys
because we are literally five days out
from this storm.
So we got our generator.
Hopefully, fingers crossed, we don't have to use this.
Obviously, if we don't have to use it,
that means that this storm wasn't as bad,
power didn't go out,
and then we also have one bag of dog food,
which I think we'll be okay with,
but we do have to get other feed from Tractor Supply,
but we are at Target now,
and I'm kind of nervous because it's so busy,
but we're actually doing a simple return here
at the good old land of Target,
but it's so busy.
It's never this busy,
but it's just the way that it is,
but I'm gonna try to show you guys
some shelves and stuff of where the water and stuff is
because we're gonna try to see
if we can even get water here, but we'll see.
So this is where the water would be.
There's literally none.
It's so crazy.
Literally nothing here.
Our Target trip turned into a normal Target trip,
I should say, buying so much-
So much stuff we didn't need,
but I did a return, so that's fine.
Everything that I did buy today is on sale,
so it's all good,
but my car is jam-packed.
I still have a couple more errands to run
for this hurricane prep.
So we got all this stuff.
We have everything, but still don't have water.
We do have to go to Lowe's really quick to get a fan,
so maybe they'll have water.
I did see online that someone said
that they had water yesterday, but who knows?
That's gonna be a madhouse too
because that's another store
that is always a madhouse during hurricanes
because obviously people are buying shutters,
plywood, generators, extra portable fans.
What else do people buy?
Extension cords, things like that.
It's really a good one-stop shop
for Hurricane Essentials, I should say,
like a hardware store like that around here
because they pretty much have everything.
Yeah, but when we get back,
I'll show you our shutter situation.
Our house actually has something
that's super old and outdated, but it works,
so I'll show you that.
But it's already almost one o'clock,
so that's happening,
and then we still have to go to Tractor Supply later,
and we have to do our whole farm prep with all the animals.
So I'm actually gonna show you that
in a whole nother video, my next video,
is us prepping all the horses for this hurricane
because you guys already know
that's a whole nother crazy thing we have to tackle.
Made it to Lowe's.
Honestly, Target seemed kind of busier
than like the average.
Lowe's seems like kind of the same.
What do you say?
What?
The busyness.
Still busier.
Yeah.
Well, in we go.
People are buying grills,
so they're not that worried about this hurricane.
I guess when the power goes out,
it's like the hurricane party prep.
Oh, is that for when the power goes out,
the gas pumps?
Cool.
Got what we needed.
We just got a fan,
but again, struck out again for water.
We've only gone to two places,
so it's not like terrible,
but I don't really want to go anywhere else
because it's literally a madhouse.
I don't.
All right, guys, I got to take this good joke.
So we decided to go get some gas for my car gear
because it looks like there was no lines,
and then I read the pump,
and there's a note on all of them
that say we only have premium and diesel,
so we won't be getting gas here.
So we're back home.
We actually stopped in Publix to get a sub,
and I just curiously wanted to check out
the water aisles for you guys,
and keep in mind, yesterday,
I actually went there to get water
for our normal household use,
and they still had a lot of water,
so thankfully, that's why I was able to get the two
was from there,
but this is what the water aisle looked like.
There's literally no water.
That's what is happening here in Florida,
but like I said, in the car,
I wanted to show you guys kind of our shutter situation.
Obviously, if this does become a hurricane,
and we need shutters, like I said,
our house has something that's kind of very outdated,
but also it's helpful.
This is the shutter situation we have.
So this box right here basically holds the shutters,
and from the inside,
so we don't even need to be outside when we do this.
It rolls on the shutters.
So it's interesting.
That's what it kind of looks like right here.
This is the track that it follows.
So we will have shutters if we need it.
Last minute, we don't even need to go outside to open them.
Come here, Scoutie.
This is Scout's, whoa, like first hurricane,
if it actually ends up being like a full-on hurricane.
Scoutie, you're so hyper.
Guys, she literally just fogged the camera up like that.
Bama, he's been,
I don't think he's actually ever been
in a hurricane yet either,
because he's not that old,
and we haven't had like a real hurricane
in the last couple years.
Like that's been serious at all,
which we may not even still.
Miley has found this like new fear
that all of a sudden she's so scared of a thunder.
So she's a six-year-old dog,
has never been scared of thunder ever,
lightning or anything like that.
But now when it rains outside, she cries.
Are you scared?
But only sometimes though.
It's like not every single time.
If it's a bad storm, she'll cry.
So other than that though,
all my other dogs are really good with thunder and storms.
Daisy, she obviously gets a little bit nervous.
She has epilepsy, so she's a little bit nervous
a lot of the time.
Scout is a champ.
No noises, vacuums, nothing bothers Scout.
What's on your face, Lexi?
Is that dirt?
Ew.
But anyways, the other dogs,
everyone's actually really good with loud noises,
sounds and stuff like that.
We try to desensitize them as much as we can.
Right, Skitty?
So Scout is not afraid of any noise
or any thunder storm, I should say.
But I also stopped at Tractor Supply.
I still have to go there again,
but I went there and I was just kind of looking at the shelves
and the dog food aisle was like almost bare.
I would assume a lot of people like to stock up
because the most common animal,
I would say would probably be dogs.
But I've never seen the shelves like that
where there was like hardly any dog food left.
So that would assume people are stocking up.
So we're gonna even have to go to a different Tractor Supply
to try to even get everything that we need
because they didn't even have pig food either.
So that'll be fun.
But like I said in the beginning of this video,
we had a lot of things
that we actually had to do this weekend.
Like the other day,
when I took you guys to Tractor Supply with me,
I had to buy cow dewormer.
So we need to deworm my cows.
So I'm gonna do that really quickly just to get that done.
Even aside from all this craziness
that we still need to do,
that is like on the top of my priority.
So we are gonna deworm the cows really quick
and go from there
because this day is just going by so fast
and we still have so much more to do.
So I'm filming this on a Saturday
and the hurricane, if it comes,
it should be here by like Tuesday.
So it doesn't give me too many days.
So we're just trying to prep everything right now.
But at least we have a generator.
We have the shutter situation taken care of.
We have two cases of water, which should honestly be fine.
If I find some today while I'm going out, fine.
I'll get another one.
And then everything else is like the animals.
So that is tomorrow's focus.
So bless me because this is just so crazy.
To the cows.
The haymobile is here.
So we have hay for them and the dewormer coming through.
Oh my goodness.
Y'all are gonna get run over.
Hi JoJo.
Ah, perfect.
Jo's in so we will deworm her good.
The one we really only care about getting in the stall
is Al, because he's gonna be difficult.
So this is our little indicator
that'll show where we need him at.
So for Al, he'll get the one dose,
which is the highest dose that is on here,
which is the 550.
And then Moose will probably do one of the 550 doses
and then we'll do a second dose,
probably around either 15 to 20.
So there's that.
And then also same with Jo.
I think she'll probably get close to 550.
We might do a little bit more on her.
So I just did Moose.
That was super simple.
You're gonna miss at that point.
As soon as you throw your arm out, he's gonna run.
He got it on his back.
So, so far we did Moose,
which that went perfectly fine
because he was distracted by the hay.
That one was obviously a little bit unorthodox with Al,
but it worked.
We got it on his back.
I can see it.
It looks good.
So that's kind of where we're at.
A little bit went on his horn, but it's not a big deal.
Last but not least is Jolene,
and this one's gonna be so easy.
All right, ready?
Okay, Jo.
Easy peasy.
You guys ready for dinner?
Piggy.
Muffin, you're starting to look like Mr. Pig.
Everyone is happy with their hay.
Albie, are they not sharing?
You know, there's another bale of hay, buddy.
It's also the first year of having a hurricane
with goats and donkey.
So we're trying to get that figured out still.
Trying to actually figure out everyone's placement,
but we'll have that figured out in the next day or so.
Won't we?
Luckily, we've been actually drying up.
So the back pasture is almost completely dry.
There's just a little bit of low spots
that hold water still, like right there and there.
But I am really fingers crossed and praying
that by the time we get this hurricane,
even if it becomes not a hurricane or a direct hit here,
which it's changing every day,
we're still gonna get so much wind and so much rain.
And I'm just really hoping
that the pastures are dried up by then,
because you all know that we do not need
any more water right now.
But I'll show you the front pasture
because the front pasture has literally been a lake
for now a couple of weeks,
if you guys have been following along
with our summer journey here.
But this is the front pasture.
A lot of it has receded
and it's only just focused in this area now
where like, you know, a couple of days ago
it was the whole pasture.
So we are really, really just hoping
that we stay dry for the next couple days
up until the day of the hurricane
so that this can dry up.
Cause I feel like at that rate,
my house is gonna float away.
But this water and situation
has completely ruined this pasture this year, completely.
Obviously you guys can see grass back there,
but in the corner up on that property,
the grass has gotten pretty bad.
And then this is literally, it looks like the beach.
Oh, hello.
Did you follow me all the way back here?
You are so cute.
Hi, crazy kitty.
Guys, he's literally standing right here on my horse die.
So cool.
All right, you guys.
Well, that's pretty much it for this like impromptu vlog
about this impromptu hurricane.
But that's kind of like how hurricanes go around here
because we might not even like get hit by this.
We might not even feel it.
Obviously we'll probably feel some rain if anything,
but that's what's obviously again, weird about these things
because you almost have to plan just in case
because they can switch on a dime
and you don't really know what's gonna happen
until it's like the day of.
And then you don't wanna be running around
like a chicken with your head cut off,
trying to plan, especially for our case scenario,
just cause we have so many animals.
If we didn't have like the whole farm
that we had to make sure it was gonna be okay,
we probably wouldn't be planning as much like we have to do
since we have all these animals
to make sure that they're safe and everything's good.
It's not just the two of us,
but like I said, it's only Saturday.
So we have many days to go.
They've already predicted so many different changes
that this is gonna take.
So I don't know.
As of right now, we are in the cone of this hurricane,
but that can change any minute.
I shouldn't say any minute
cause they don't update every minute.
It's almost like every hour that they say something new.
So we'll see.
We still have a whole long, busy couple of days
before this hurricane comes,
prepping for it with the animals
to make sure you are on the lookout for that video.
Hopefully, best case scenario, it doesn't hit us,
but typically with hurricanes, if it doesn't hit us,
it hits somebody else and that's also unfortunate.
So you wish it,
but you also know what happens on the back end of it.
Anyways though, if you guys like this video,
