EXPLORING MEXICO'S RICHEST NEIGHBORHOOD POLANCO MEXICO CITY
Hello, we are currently in Polanco which is supposed to be like the bougiest neighborhood
in Mexico City.
Neither of us have ever been before.
But one of our last videos was showing you guys a luxury mall in Querétaro so we thought
we'd bring it up a notch and bring you to what's supposedly the wealthiest neighborhood
in Mexico City.
Some call it the Beverly Hills of Mexico City because there are so many celebrities
that live here and very nice houses like the one right behind us.
Yeah, that house looks crazy beautiful.
So far we just got dropped off at a park.
There are a lot of picture spots here that we will be taking advantage of for our Instagram.
Which, by the way, we never plug our Instagram in our videos I don't feel like.
So if you aren't following us, our pictures are sick.
We're really proud of our Instagram.
So we'll have our name right here.
It's at Surgentana.
So what are we doing right now?
We're going to show this other beautiful house.
I wonder how much this is being rented for.
We have no idea how much it is so you're not going to get an answer from us.
But how much do you guys think this house would go for rent for?
I mean it is beautiful.
And one thing you have to remember about Polanco is that it's still within the city of Mexico
City.
You know sometimes really bougie neighborhoods are like kind of outside like in the mountains
so I could imagine that that would bring the value of this neighborhood up that much more.
Another thing that we really enjoy here are these trees actually.
They're in full bloom right now.
They shed these like vibrant purple petals on the ground.
They're so pretty.
These were a gift from Japan.
Thanks Japan.
It looks like we've got a little dog school going on.
It's the cutest thing I've ever seen.
You're right this is just very on theme with the parks in Mexico City.
Dogs everywhere.
Oddly enough the name of this park is actually Parque Lincoln so it's named after Abraham
Lincoln.
Our first stop since we are starving is one of our favorite vegan restaurants in Mexico
City which is called Forever Vegano.
They have one of these in Roma so we know we can afford it and it doesn't look like
we can afford much else here so definitely definitely happy to know that they have one
here.
Muchas gracias.
You're already on it.
Oh yeah.
This is my burger.
It's got some avocado and bacon and it's all vegan.
I've already had it and it's amazing.
What do you have baby?
I got a tofu wrap.
Tofu wrap.
These sweet potato fries are so bomb that I didn't like sweet potato fries before coming
to Forever Vegano and this place changed me and now I crave them so I'm very excited.
So after we finish eating here we're actually going to the main road which is where all
of the high end stores and stuff are.
We just ate.
We're now full.
We're ready to walk some more again.
Now we're going to show you why we're actually here.
There's this one road called Presidente Masarico or something like that.
I'm probably butchering that pronunciation but apparently that's where the biggest concentration
of high end shops and restaurants are in the city.
So we're going to try to catch a glimpse of that as well as anything else we see that
we find interesting.
You're going to be so disappointed if we ever go to Hollywood Boulevard.
There's a whatever that is.
That's a Ferrari.
I just got my matcha that I've been looking forward to for a very long time so I'm happy,
rejuvenated.
I got a frappe which I've never had.
Really?
If you know of it, yeah.
Oh.
Starbucks?
Very not so much so?
Starbucks just fits in wherever they want to.
So here's a huge bank.
There's a huge bank.
And there's a huge bank.
Big banks for the big money people.
Earlier we saw a Porsche that was closely followed by this black SUV that had four pretty
big men in suits.
That's the kind of stuff you might expect to see here.
I thought that was a little sketch.
I don't know who they were or who they thought they were at least.
How you doing baby?
Want to go to Gucci?
No, not at all.
But there it is.
Oh, it's cute.
Look at the flowers.
By the way, when I asked how you were doing, I wanted you to say Gucci.
I'm just recording places because I think they might be bougie and I just don't know
about them.
But there is Cornigliani.
Do you know Cornigliani?
I don't.
Diesel, which Montana says is a bougie store.
The Mac store.
I know that one.
And Tesla.
We're approaching one of the very well known Instagram spots.
We've actually never been to a place that was specifically made for Instagram.
Do you got your matcha frappe in hand?
Are you going to your Instagram spot?
Oh look, there's actually people taking pictures right now.
We were just assuming that this place was made for Instagram because we've seen so many
pictures here.
And they literally have a sign telling you to take a picture here for Instagram.
I'll do it.
Louis Vuitton put some cacti right here to make sure you know it's Mexico's Louis Vuitton.
There's a huge Rolex.
I've never seen a Rolex store and I would never have imagined a watch store to be this
big.
So they're building what Montana says is pronounced Cartier.
Cartier.
What is it?
If you know who Kylie Jenner is, you might know who they are.
So he is Cartier.
Cartier.
It's just jewelry.
So this is the bougie version of Pandora?
This is what every girl...
Am I stupid?
Within the past five years who has bought one probably regrets it now that it's not
as cool.
If you watched our luxury mall tour in Querétaro, we talked about Palacio de Hierro which is
like the high end department store in most places in Mexico.
Here in Polanco, I guess it just kind of fits in with the rest of the neighborhood.
But anyway, they have a Palacio de Hierro here too.
And since it's Polanco, they had to do something a little more spectacular.
And so this is what they built.
This doesn't have anything to do with the spectacular luxury side of Mexico, but I love
seeing these.
I wish you guys could smell it.
It smells so good.
For my foodies out there, Polanco is home to some of Mexico's highest end restaurants.
Unfortunately, I forgot to look for them and I just looked on Google Maps and we've already
walked by a few of them.
One of them being Pujol, which if you've ever heard of, Mexico's probably most famous chef.
I forgot his name.
But anyway, that's his restaurant and it's considered to be one of the best restaurants
in the world.
Previously, what was the richest man in the world, Carlos Slim, built a museum here named
after his wife who passed away.
And I've never actually seen it before, so it was exciting.
Here she is.
What museum is this?
It's called Sumaya.
I think it's like all of their art collection because they were both art collectors, Carlos
Slim and his wife.
He put their collections in that museum, but apparently it's not that impressive to go
into.
So just enjoy it from outside.
Look how beautiful it is.
The only way you can experience a movie in Polanco is going to a VIP movie theater, a
luxury movie theater, and we actually went to one of those in one of our previous videos.
If you haven't checked that out, go do that.
This thing is so beautiful and so spectacular.
This thing is so spectacular that we know we have to get a picture of it for our Instagram.
We're just trying to find a good spot for it, but it's not that easy to get the best
angle since it's so big and so particularly shaped.
It's a little weird.
And my hair is being crazy because it looks like a storm is brewing a little bit.
This is where we will end our Polanco vlog.
I feel like we would have shown more if we were shopping and stuff, but...
This is what it would look like if you're just walking around Polanco.
It might be worth swinging by.
I don't know.
Definitely not our favorite part of Mexico City because there's not a lot for us to do here.
It's something.
And I think that we came here and did this video because it's important for us to show
that Mexico does have an upper scale side.
There's a lot more to the narrative than just a third world country that's underdeveloped
and where there's nothing interesting to see.
That's the note we want to leave you guys with.
If you like this video, what should they do, bun?
Be sure to give this video a thumbs up and subscribe if you haven't already.
Let us know if there's any other Mexico type videos you want to see.
We'll see you in the next one.
