A Hands-On Review of the D.T. Systems Super Pro Dummy Launcher

Hey everyone, it's Chris Ingram, Digital Editor with Gundog. I'm up at Pheasant Fest, making my way around. I stopped at the DT Systems booth. I'm here with Brian Lassley, he's the Director of Marketing, and we're gearing up for spring training season. We're all anxious, and our dogs are too, to get back out there. I'm really excited to talk about the Super Pro Dummy Launcher. It's perfect for the DIYer, you know, somebody that's training for themselves. Limited time, limited space, but Brian, tell us more about this product. Thanks Chris. Basically what we got here is a dummy launcher. So, we're trying to emulate the time in the field where the dog hears a gunshot, or a report, and then they look for a mark in the sky that's falling. So to simulate, if you're walking along, you shoot a pheasant, they see the pheasant fall, it's a perfect scenario to create that training moment where they're like, okay, I heard a gunshot, I gotta look for a bird, or a mark in the sky, and I gotta go get it. So, how do you do that without a pheasant and a gun? You can do it with this. So, you have what's called our DT Super Pro Dummy Launcher. Open it up like so. Right in here, you'll see that there is a chamber. This holds a .22 blank cartridge, like we were discussing earlier. So you put the .22 blank cartridge in, close it up, it locks good and tight. You take your handle here, and you pull back the firing pin. You aim it to wherever you want to basically let this thing launch to, and you usually want to get a pretty decent angle, and the angle that you shoot it at will depend on how far it goes. So you can go anywhere from 50 to 100 yards. The dog hears it, he looks for the mark, which is this coming off the end, and he sees his mark, and you send him and train him, and it's just a great little training tool to have. And the most important thing, Chris, as you know, we've been in here all winter, but the last couple months, some people haven't been able to hunt for two months, they've got cabin fever, we've got springtime coming, you can get outside and have a really good time with your dog and train them as well. And then we've got, so you see we've got the white one here, we've also got the orange ones, and then we've got some that are longer, about this much longer, that do like a, kind of a flip in the sky to simulate like a bird with a flopping wing or something. So, great little training tool to have and get out there and just have some fun with your dog. Awesome, well I'm excited to get out, I know our dogs are too.
