Welcome to Viking in the Jungle.
And this is the jungle.
All right, so we got some incredible news.
And that is that the final payment has been done and it has gone through.
And so the land is mine.
Hey!
The first way that I'm celebrating this is by making this video for you guys.
Benjamin and I, we went to the land.
And we went to the land to speak with our caretaker,
the guy that already was taking care of the land.
Ramon, he's called.
And we spoke with him earlier and he was very happy to be working with us
and very happy to be taking care of the land.
Until we arrived there.
What's up, man?
All good?
Good, good.
Perfect.
Hello.
Hello, Eric.
My name is Ramon Lili.
Okay.
Oh, you are Ramon?
No, I'm Lilito.
Lilito.
And he can take care of this here.
Good news and bad news.
The good news is the guys are willing to watch over the land for us
to make sure no one's stealing our stuff.
The bad news is they can't commit to a full-time job
and they'd rather be hired per task.
Which is interesting, you know?
And it's definitely something to consider to break up what we gotta do per task
so we're not just shelling out money.
But it's a shame because I wanted to start working now.
So all of a sudden we were without caretaker.
It was a lot of fun to be walking around with Ramon.
And especially because at some point I found out,
we found out that there is an avocado tree on my land.
And I did not know about that.
People, I'm telling you, this land just keeps on giving
and it keeps on giving me all kinds of surprises.
And apparently there were a boatload of avocados that were just ripe for picking.
And before I knew it Ramon was already in the tree picking all the avocados
and throwing them down.
What a master.
What an avocado master.
Yeah, they just have very good vibes.
We got so many avocados.
I mean, let's see.
I don't know.
We got like 20 avocados and they're like, they're huge.
And they said that they were absolutely delicious.
So they're not ready yet.
But I just have to wait a moment and then we can eat all of them.
So that's exciting.
And then what we found out and what I'm amazed by
is that the land of Volantito is way longer than we thought.
Where the car is, that's where we thought that the entrance of Volantito was.
But now I'm standing here next to this huge-ass mango tree.
And apparently, according to the Deslinde, this is also part of my land.
So this is going to be the entrance of the land with the mango tree greeting you.
Greeting you, hello.
And they said there are going to be a lot of epic mangoes in there.
And I actually think Ramon just got one.
So let's eat that.
Oh, they're so good.
They're really good.
He says you're going to wake up and eat mangoes.
Now we got avocados.
We got extra mangoes.
We got oranges.
We got grapefruit.
We got all kinds of stuff.
So it's very cool to now be at the land while it's mine.
The avocado or the mango tree here is full with mangoes.
And I'm surprised that we could already eat them.
So all in all, super successful day.
And yeah, I'm just so happy.
Today is the day that this is mine.
So these fruits are mine.
And I'm going to be sharing it with the rest of this world.
So yeah, it's unreal that this is actually becoming a reality.
Yeah, but now all of a sudden we were without caretaker.
So Benjam and I were like, okay, what are we going to do now?
But luckily, Benjam already had thought about a backup plan.
And recently, I think a week ago, there was one guy, one worker in the area around
that was getting quite emotional because his previous work,
his previous employer was not paying him for three months straight.
He wasn't getting any money from his previous employer.
And so now he was without work and without money.
And so he was kind of stressing out.
Benjam already hired him for one job to be building a fence.
And before Benjam even paid him, the fence was already done.
So we knew that this guy was a hard worker.
We knew that he knew what he was doing.
And as a benefit, he lives on the corner of the land.
So he could always be close by.
He can always take care of the land.
And he can always take a look and look out for land,
that there are no people coming in that are not welcome on our land, for example.
So meet Papito.
By chance, we found him at one of the neighbors.
And we asked him if he could, if he wanted to work for us.
This is a historic moment.
Bada-boom, bada-bang, that's how it happened.
No saco.
And we showed him around on the land.
We showed him all the borders of the land.
And I asked him if he could make a gate for me,
so that I could walk into the forest easily.
And yeah, so we paid him right away.
Right now, he's working on the land.
Or at least he should be working on the land.
We'll see about that.
We'll see how everything is going.
But I am stoked about this.
Especially also because of the extra benefit that we can help out one of the locals here.
That he can just keep on working, earning money with us,
and consistent money with us.
Because we ain't going anywhere.
And as long as the work's being done right,
I'm looking forward to having Papito as the caretaker for a long, long, long time.
And as an extra bonus, I love that his name is Papito.
I mean, can you get a more Dominican name?
I don't think so.
I don't think you can get a more Dominican name.
So that is the update for today.
Thank you very much for watching Viking in the Jungle.
And I will see you in the next one.
