In this video, I am demonstrating how to add ribbon to a Christmas tree 2018. In my past Christmas decorating video, I showed how to add ribbon to a tree by making separate loops. But, in this video adding ribbon to the tree is all about adding it in one piece and at an angle.
It is SUPER easy, and actually really fun! I will show you step-by-step so that your tree will have a designer look! So come decorate with me for Christmas!

Hello, I'm Jennifer with Jennifer Decorates, and in today's video, I'm going to show you how to attach ribbon to your Christmas tree.
Stay tuned.
So in another one of my videos on how to decorate a tree with ribbon, I demonstrated how you can make separate loops and attach them to the tree.
But in this video, I'm going to take the ribbon and I'm going to start at the top of the tree and I'm going to angle down the tree, attaching it to different branches.
So let me show you the ribbon I'm going to use.
This one is kind of a platinum glittery ribbon, and then this is my birch ribbon, kind of my theme this year, I love it.
When I add two ribbons to the tree, I like to have one wider and then one narrow, and I tend to put the patterned ribbon in the front, and that way they pair really well together.
So you're going to need a little bit of floral wire, and you're going to start by scrunching up your ribbon and wiring it around, and we're going to attach it to the top of the tree.
When you do, I want you to attach it in and kind of turn it under like this, so that when it comes out of the tree, you don't see this floral wire, and that's how we're going to start.
There we go.
Now I'm going to come down a little bit, and I'm going to cheat, and I'm going to use, I'm going to push this ribbon back into the tree pretty far, and then grab one of the branches and wrap it around my ribbon.
Then I'm going to come down a little bit more, and I'm going to gather my ribbon really tight, push it into the tree, and grab a branch and wrap it around.
This is one of the great things about having an artificial tree.
So if you don't have an artificial tree, you're going to have to wire it to the branches.
I'm going to continue all the way down, keeping at an angle, making the same, about the same size loops, but you don't have to keep them the same.
So after you attach the last one, you can cut your ribbon at an angle.
Let me attach this real quick, and then I'm going to show you another way that you could cut the ribbon.
Let me show you another way to cut the end of your ribbon.
So fold your ribbon in half with the right sides together, and then you're going to cut it at an angle from here toward the fold.
And then, ta-da!
Okay, so let me tell you a trick when you're adding the ribbon to your tree.
So the first one, I started really high up on the tree.
Now I'm going to go all the way up because I plan on putting a bow on top, and it's going to have tails, and so I don't want to waste any ribbon.
Now when I go to do my second row, you don't want to start at the same height.
You want to come down a little bit, maybe 12 inches, and you want to start there.
And what that does is we're going to stagger it all the way around the tree, but it allows the loops to kind of hit at different points.
So you're going to start high and then go low, and when you go around to do the next row, you're going to go back high again.
I'm going to add a third ribbon, and this is called my really yummy ribbon.
This is a platinum velvet with a little bit of a platinum shimmer to the back. I just love it.
I'm not going to pair anything with it, and I'm just going to go in between the rows.
I've already done with the same technique. I'm going to stagger it as well.
So I'm going to attach this kind of in between the two and maybe not at the same spot, and I'm going to make a loop here.
Again, not matching the exact spots where I attached the loops to the tree, but listen, by the time you add picks and ornaments and stems,
you don't have to, don't overthink it and feel like it has to be perfect because it doesn't.
Okay, another little trick. This is my most expensive ribbon, and I save every scrap.
So you'll notice I've run out of ribbon, but that's okay because I've got it just about the right length.
So I'm going to use my floral wire and add these two pieces together and then hide that in the tree, and no one will ever know it was two pieces.
One little tip. When I'm decorating my tree, I get an old sheet and lay around the bottom of the tree because the needles start falling off,
glitter goes everywhere, and it kind of helps with the mess a little bit.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this video. It's a really easy way to add ribbon to the tree. It was so fun, so fast, I loved it.
