I'm about to get dinner at a place called Dakhanmari.
It is in Myeongdong, which is a pretty hectic area of Seoul,
but it's a little tucked away in an alley.
Dakhanmari translates to one chicken, basically,
and it's like a chicken hot pot.
You make your own spicy sauce to dip it in,
and then later, I think you can make porridge and noodles in the same soup.
So the rice cakes are coming up to the surface now,
so these are okay to eat.
So now the potato is tossed in thunder, I guess.
I am at this place called Yehwa Sonmandu.
Yehwa is just like the name, and then sonmandu is like handmade dumplings,
and they have dumplings, of course,
and they also have this thing called kalguksu, which is a Korean noodle soup.
My mom's family used to come here all the time.
It's supposed to be really good,
so I ordered the kalguksu, and so did my brother and my dad,
but my mom got the mandu, so I'm going to try both.
This is just like marinated-slash-fermented peppers.
So I'm going to put that on the...
It really tastes like...
Very good.
Thank you.
Refreshing?
Refreshing.
I'm with my friend Katie.
I left my camera at home, so I'm on my phone.
But anyway, we just ate right here, this place called...
Hildong Myeonok?
Yeah?
Myeonok.
Hildong Myeonok, which is a naengmyeon place, and naengmyeon...
What's naengmyeon?
It's like cold noodle.
It came from North Korea.
Yeah, so it's a North Korean dish.
It's a cold noodle soup,
and I just was walking around here waiting for Katie,
and I saw that there was this huge line,
so that's why we decided to eat.
But it was pretty good.
The noodles were not too chewy.
Sometimes they can be really chewy and hard to eat.
Yeah, but it was good.
So it's like 2 p.m. now.
Katie and I ate at noon,
and we're just walking by again, and the line got even longer!
Oh my god, oh my god.
It's crazy!
Past lunchtime.
Yeah, it's like 2.20.
Wow.
So I guess come here early, like before noon.
So we just ordered Pupping Soup,
and in Korea, it's like a famous shaved ice ice cream.
And basically, it's shaved ice,
but this one looks really soft, kind of like snow.
And they put condensed milk and the traditional red bean paste
with Injeolmi Tteok, which is a Korean rice cake.
Oh, this is good.
I think I could eat another one.
Should we have one too?
Navy.
It's perfect for a hot day like today.
We're eating all of the summery foods,
so like naengmyeon and then Pupping Soup.
Feels like summer today.
It's so good.
Wanna go close?
So you're supposed to-
Yeah, yeah.
Sorry.
It's my last day in Seoul,
so this is probably the last restaurant I'm gonna come to.
And it's only fitting that it's with Joan.
Can you-
Oh, my hair doesn't look weird.
She just got her hair done.
I'm not used to it. I'm not used to it.
We are at Tokson Samgyetang.
I know how to get here.
I don't really know the name,
but it's like one of the best like samgyetang places in Korea.
It's so good.
Samgyetang is like ginseng chicken soup.
It's so good.
And there's like rice inside the chicken,
and like it's just like a healthy food.
I'm leaving Korea today.
You can see the luggage that my family and I need to take back to the States.
But I just wanted to pop in here and say thank you so much for watching this video.
I hope it was helpful.
All of the links and as much information as I can provide
will be in the description box for the different restaurants.
And I think there was like one or two cafes that I went to.
Because it was my first time coming to Korea in about five and a half years,
it was a lot of family time and getting to see them.
So I didn't vlog every single day like a traditional travel vlog series,
but hopefully the food is what's most important
and I really hope you enjoyed.
As always, thank you for watching and I will see you in the next one.
Bye!
