Used LEGO Haul from Marketplace & Washing LEGO!
What's up guys it is BrickLover18 here and today I'm going to be showing you a LEGO haul I got
from the Facebook Marketplace. So a few weeks ago now my dad sent me a text while I'm up here in
Toronto he is back home and he just showed me this picture of some LEGO from a Facebook lot
he found and he's like hey how much would you pay for this? It was funny because I responded
between you know 10 or 15 dollars to which he said amazing I got it for 10. So this is the
bag of LEGO. He got this entire thing here for $10 Canadian which is literally like $7 American
so it's not a bad deal whatsoever. I have not really had the chance to go through this yet
and see any of the pieces inside. I opened it up kind of briefly to take a look and then it
was a little dirty so I got a little grossed out and I didn't want to look through it too much
before I had a chance to wash it but I thought it'd be really fun in this video today to kind
of take a look and deep dive into it. So I'm going to open up the bag here and I have the
handy Canada Post bin here just to dump all the LEGO into. My dad took it out of the bin that it
came into and put it in the garbage bag just for easier transport and you can see here is everything
here. Right off the bat you'll be able to tell that there are some non-LEGO parts in it. I haven't
sorted it obviously yet or anything at all like this one almost looks LEGO but then you look a
little bit more detail and you can see it's not however you can see there are a variety of other
LEGO pieces in here looks like we at least get a LEGO fire station there was definitely some
Minecraft LEGO as well because there were some minifigures which here's the bag he separated
my dad went through it very briefly and he separated some of the minifigures and stuff like
that in it so very excited to deep dive into this more but of course for starters I want to wash it
and I actually want to sort out what was LEGO and what is not LEGO so I'm going to do that and get
back to you all right so after a little over probably an hour and a half sorting I managed
to sort all the LEGO pieces which are here and all the non-LEGO pieces and dirt and garbage and
stuff like that in here so it was a pretty good mix still for $10 definitely can't go wrong with
it it doesn't look like there are many complete sets it almost looks like an incomplete collection
like it looks like some remnants of a police station but there are obviously a lot of parts
so I don't think I'll be able to build any sets from this just based on how many parts are missing
and stuff like that but it's good to have just a variety of new parts for my LEGO collection so
this these were pretty dirty um not extremely dirty but I just feel more comfortable giving
these a little bit of a bath so let's go do that all right guys back in my washroom here and I've
got the bucket of parts that are ready to be washed honestly they're not as dirty as I thought
they were but I'm still gonna wash them just because I don't really know where they came from
let's get the water started add the dawn dish soap and then pour the LEGO in
and of course give it a few good swooshes around and then we're gonna let the LEGO marinate
all right all the LEGOs out of the tub now unlike last time where I scooped it all
with my hand I actually used this strainer here and it works so much better so there's
no loose pieces in there that means no pieces going down the drain and everything here is
washed all right guys so I actually forgot to show this part on camera but I laid the towel
down here in the bathtub and poured all the bricks on top of it and now I've let them dry
they've probably been in here for like a week or so so they're definitely dry and it's time to move
them back into my LEGO room so I low-key forgot that these parts were actually in the tub here
and it wasn't until a guest who went to use this washroom to shower opened up the curtain it was
like it's full of LEGO bricks and I was like oops good thing I uh yeah good thing I have another
shower but it was yeah hilarious now these are all washed and ready to go honestly as for what
I'm going to do with these bricks I don't entirely know because they just came with this bucket of
bricks here there were no instructions or anything like that in them it's going to be pretty hard for
me to distinguish what sets were actually in this bin which are not and try and piece them together
I just don't think it's going to be possible so because of that I'm actually probably just going
to sort these parts into my LEGO collection and use them for building down the line I just don't
think it's worth spending all that time and energy trying to figure out what sets based on stickers
and other parts and stuff like that I'll find trying to piece it together because nothing even
came assembled so I don't even have any clue if they're together maybe this was one of like 10
lots they sold who really knows so I think just the best for me and to save some time and you know
a lot of stress is just to part this out into my LEGO collection and do some sorting so because
that's what my plan on doing I'm just going to wait until I have a few more LEGO bricks that I
need to sort I haven't done a big sort in my LEGO collection since 2020 I don't like to sort LEGO
pieces it's actually something I hate doing so I will probably wait and do a huge sorting video or
something like that in the upcoming months probably in 2023 realistically and resort everything back
into my LEGO collection and do it that way because there's definitely some cool parts here looks like
some pretty decent city sets because you know found a police bike and a lot of these blue looks
like it's from a police station so some pretty good parts there that I know I'll be able to use
in the future for building and stuff like that so that's you know roughly what my plan is but
anyway guys thank you so much for watching this LEGO video thank you for watching this LEGO haul
and me cleaning all these LEGO parts it does feel so much better when I put my hand in and
feel these really clean parts like I can tell they're clean now they almost feel like new
and it just feels so much more sanitary than using some of these older LEGO parts in my models and
something like that but really really excited to have all this and just cannot wait to start
you know sort this out and get started building so anyway guys thanks again for watching if you
did enjoy don't forget to leave a like comment and of course subscribe and I'm looking forward
to seeing you here in the next video!
