This video will show you how to safely transport and install the new Campbell-Hossfeld two-stage
air compressor. Let's start by removing the outside and top crating from the unit and
carefully inspect for any damage which may have occurred during transit. Then, when picking a
location to install and operate, choose a clean, well-ventilated area where the unit is at least
18 inches from any obstructions. The floor should be a flat, even, concrete floor or separate
concrete foundation. Remove the bolts holding the unit to the skid. Securely lift the unit
and mount in place on top of vibration isolators. Be sure to use appropriately rated equipment and
make sure the unit is secure. Do not lift the unit by using the tubes or coolers.
The vibration isolators will be used between the tank legs and the floor.
Campbell-Hossfeld model MP345700AJ is a recommended vibration isolator for vertical units.
Use model MP367700AJ for horizontal units. When using the isolator pads, do not draw bolts tight.
This will allow the pads to absorb the vibration during operation. Next, install the filters. Start
by removing and disposing of the plastic packing plug from the cylinder head inlet hole. Then,
locate the box containing the filter housing and filter. Install and attach the bottom of
filter housing with screws. Next, install the filter and install the filter housing cover and
secure with a wing nut. To make the piping connections, be sure any tube, pipe, or hose
connected to the unit is able to handle the temperature and pressure. All pressurized
connections must have a pressure rating of 200 psi or greater. Install a shutoff valve on the
discharge port of the tank to control the flow of air out of the tank. Thus, this will be mounted
between the tank and piping system. Next, install a flexible hose or coupling to the shutoff valve
and piping system which helps address compressor vibration. When wiring the air compressor,
be sure to install in accordance with the national electrical code and local codes and standards.
When this unit is initially shipped, the unit contains no oil and needs oil before initial
operation. There are two recommended oil options. First, you can use single viscosity SAE 30 ISO 100
non-detergent compressor oil. Campbell-Hossfeld model ST126701AV is the recommended oil.
The second option is to use a 10W30 synthetic oil, such as Mobil 1. The oil capacity in the
compressor pump depends on the series you purchased. If you purchased a CE 7000 series,
the oil capacity is 2 quarts. If you purchased a CE 8000 series, the oil capacity is 4 quarts.
If you purchased a CE 9000 series, the oil capacity is 4.5 quarts. To fill the pump with
oil, use the oil fill opening only. Be sure not to fill the pump through the breather cap opening
as this will cause oil to leak and spray out during operation. When filling, be sure to check
the sight gauge on the pump. It is full when in the middle of the circle. We hope this video
is helpful to install your new Campbell-Hossfeld two-stage air compressor. If you have any
