So we decided to redo our studio.
This is it, the new studio.
We had no prior knowledge of how to build a studio or even how to decorate a studio.
I hate it.
Look at my ceiling.
Like, look at this.
You said you wanted it.
What is this?
It went through a lot of iterations.
This is our first studio.
Blue kitchen.
Second studio.
Pool kitchen.
Third studio.
And this is our most recent studio that we've been doing all of our filming in.
We realized we don't really need windows.
So that's where the new studio was born.
So it all began with a trip to Lowe's.
And we went to pick up wood.
Basically, we're building a wall.
That's basically what I said.
Hey, you guys want to come over and build a wall?
Because that's what we wanted to do.
That was the start.
Building a wall.
You see those openings on the sides?
That was just wasted space.
And we just closed that opening and created a corner.
And then created a wall over all of the windows.
And if you think about what we have now is we have like a massive amount of space now.
We have so much wall space where we can put stuff on it and have it all decorated.
Right now, we just have...
This is it.
Once this is all up, you wouldn't...
Zoomed it up.
You just look like you're in front of a wall.
Exactly.
So I was getting a lot of inspiration.
Should I go with that green accent?
Should I go with the slotted look?
And so I drew it out.
I said, maybe I'll do one wall orange, one wall gray.
I don't know.
The progression begins.
Meanwhile, I was on Etsy trying to get like a 3D logo design, which is what you see behind me.
Let's redo the office too.
We're literally redoing everything.
So this stuff's called Unistrut.
This was our idea.
We're going to mount that into the studs in the ceiling.
And then we can hang everything from that.
That's super supportive.
It looks like a magneto, like had like...
Just like shot metal pieces into my ceiling.
Based on the roof and the angles, it was not easy to do all these calculations.
It made it challenging to say the least.
Monty's helping out.
Throwing ideas at the wall.
There's Aaron close up.
And it looks like he's got a really cool background.
A little ladder in the background.
Dude, that looks so legit.
The office is coming together.
You can do it!
This is the sound room underneath the stairs.
We put the foam stuff on the wall and it became a sound room.
And then I went on Fiverr because I had no idea what to design.
I'm like, hey, can you design me something?
Like at least give me some inspiration.
So the weekend begins and this is where I'm literally trying to figure out how to hang stuff.
So I did a time lapse of me kind of learning the mechanism.
And here's a close up of it.
There was a learning curve.
Once I figured out what I needed to do, it was just plug and play.
Show us the magic.
Whoa!
Projects like this were really, really fun.
It's super therapeutic for me to do stuff like this.
I kind of really miss doing it.
Now that it's done, I'm like, I need something else.
Found a nice spot on the wall for the healthy junk food logo.
Branding!
This is some real progress, JP.
And another time lapse.
This is when Julia painted.
We wanted to do this on our own.
That was the beautiful thing about this.
We're like, let's do this.
This is all us.
Maybe you need the ladder to grab that part off.
You did it!
Sorry, JP.
I guess I should have done that because I have paint all over me.
All right, go into the frame though.
Let me see what you look like.
Just seeing what it looks like on camera.
Seeing how like these corner shots look.
Like, does this make sense?
This was all one weekend.
We're really just trying to see how this is going to look like on camera.
And then here's the green screen.
This was a good idea.
We didn't even have to make a wall on that wall.
To block the windows, we just kind of hung a two by four
and then draped some green screen over it.
And then boom, you got a green screen.
And then this material here was to black out all the windows
because natural light was coming through.
And at certain points of the day, it was really bad.
Probably one of the most dangerous things we did.
I really got a huge rush out of almost dying on the stairs.
Like, super sketchy.
Like, don't do this at home.
Here's a slow-mo drill. Looks cool.
So, hey, welcome back.
Hey, everyone.
Am I blocking it with my head?
Yeah, your head's in the middle of it.
Basically, we're just trying to figure out where the logo is going to go.
And then more inspiration.
Let's see.
Should we go with the gray wood?
Like, how do we decorate this wall?
Like, what do I put on it?
Let's just be honest.
The orange wasn't cute.
It kind of gave, like, me a headache looking at it.
But good effort on Julia.
That took a lot of time.
So I'm really glad that we had her do all that
and then we covered it up with this.
This is the wood we chose.
And we got Julia staining this wood.
We got some, like, you know, little planks.
Because we wanted, like, a little accent.
There's the wall going up.
Those guys, man.
I loved how they did that wall.
There it is.
Now that the wood's done,
we're going to add, like, LED strips to all these things.
I actually thought it was going to look really cool all lit up,
which it kind of does.
But here's the big reveal.
This is when we finally got to see the logo,
which was packed so incredibly secure.
It took us a very long time to get out of the box.
Wow.
Ooh.
Nice.
Boom.
Logo.
Which is right behind me right now.
So it's kind of weird.
We should have filmed this video in a different room.
So Julia's twin and I really quickly put together
these two tables that are, like, on wheels.
And that's going to be kind of part of the set.
We even put, like, the little top part on
and realized, okay, that doesn't look good.
So then we took it down.
But yeah, that was quick.
And this is it.
This is the stage.
I think I decided to film, like, some sort of sponsorship.
And then family picture.
And then the floors.
That's right.
We got all the carpet taken out.
It was the necessary thing.
You know, might as well, once everything's moved out of there,
let's change it.
Everything.
Now the studio's really come together.
Getting some monitors mounted, lighting.
And of course, I love watching YouTube.
I think I was watching H3H3, like the downfall of H3H3.
And then here's the voiceover room together.
And they put carpet in there.
So before that was regular floor, hardwood,
and we got carpet.
So today's the day I decided to change the sticks again.
A lot of work went into this when I kept changing my mind.
But I'm like, I don't know if I like the wood.
I think I like this matte black look.
And I kept going back and forth.
And I kept changing my mind.
And you know what?
I'm trying to make something work that's not working.
I just need to cut my losses and move on to the next idea.
Because right now, I mean, like, I'm still not done.
I think that we should have some, maybe some knickknacks behind me.
Maybe.
I don't know.
Let us know in the comments.
Like here, screenshot this and then add something cool to it.
So we wanted to show the progress off.
So there's some pictures of friends that came over to check out the space.
And here's some other cool footage of it just coming together.
I mean, it's getting pretty legit.
Here's a little tour.
I'm programming the TVs.
Make sure everything's doing what it needs to do.
I think that's when I hung the cameras upside down.
Oh man, that was so dumb.
So glad that I figured out a solution to that.
The reason we did this though, this whole ceiling rig is like,
there's nothing on the floor.
There's nothing on the ground anymore.
No tripods.
Millions of tripods that you can trip over.
We wanted to take Healthy Junction to the next level.
We wanted to have a real studio.
It's been like a dream of ours to have something official.
Just plug and play.
It's all about making our job more efficient.
Easy to pump out content.
Easy to get around.
Easy to have a productions crew in here to help out filming.
And I was really inspired by Mr. Beast and his replication of the squid games.
I'm like, wow, that's an incredible feat to do all that.
So for us, the studio was like, dude, we're ready.
We need to have a legit studio.
Now that the space has been created, we're not 100% there yet,
but it's kind of showing proof of how the concept is coming together.
And I think one of the last pieces of this whole puzzle
is this overhead camera that we have on this track.
Because we had to do some overhead shots and we had no camera there.
Again, this is what this whole frame is for.
You can hang literally anything from any of it.
So now that everything is in place to where, how I need it to be,
you can see now that everything's in place.
I have taped lines on all the floor.
That way, if anything moves, I know exactly where to put it
for it to go back into where it needs to be.
Everything's connected through smart switches.
So the whole studio turns on on its own.
Motion sense, 30 minute timer of idleness.
And this whole place will, all the cameras are hard-lined to outlets
that are backed up on power generators and not connected to the sensor.
So when the sensor turns off, all the lights turn off,
but it doesn't cut the camera feed.
Because if it did that, you'd destroy your footage.
All the cameras are backed up on backup power generators.
So even if we blow a fuse, these cameras will still run.
And there you have it, guys.
The studio so far.
If you guys come up with any cool designs, please tweet us.
We'd love to see them.
Maybe we'll make those changes.
But for now, we kind of got a blank slate behind us.
And it's only going to grow from here.
