It was a really long night last night.
Honestly, we stayed up until like 4 in the morning and got back here.
What did we eat last night?
We had a noodle dish.
We ate sashimi.
We ate sea urchin.
Japanese omelet.
Fluffy, delicious.
I don't even know how they make it so creamy.
Dude, we didn't overdo it.
Maybe I overdid it.
That way to Shake Shack.
Where are you going?
Shake Shack?
We're not really going to Shake Shack.
I think we stumbled upon a great find here in Japan, Julia.
The Denny's?
The Denny's.
We made it to Denny's and my foot is almost better.
And I know you guys are asking yourself,
what's wrong with your foot?
Well, I don't know.
But it's getting better.
That's all that matters.
Let's go in.
Wow, you're really better, huh?
Julia, we're too late.
We have lunch now.
Denny's is all about breakfast, so.
So, we'll be back.
Alright guys, it is morning again.
We're going to try this Denny's thing again.
There it is.
The morning menu.
It's a really nice t-shirt.
Thank you.
It's the greatest t-shirt I've ever worn.
Do they have omelets here?
I bet you that tastes pretty cool.
I want to get that.
I know that's not breakfast.
I love this place.
It looks just like a Denny's.
I can actually see them cook back there.
These are pancakes.
These are more fluffy than the regular traditional pancake.
I've never seen pancakes like this at Denny's before in the U.S.
Have you?
In the U.S., they usually burn them.
It's not that extra crazy souffle type that I really imagine,
that I really want,
that I'm hoping to find at the next place we go to.
But let's see how it tastes.
I'm not a big pancake guy,
but I do know a good pancake when I see one.
And this one does look good.
And it does have some girth to it.
Don't get me wrong, it tastes delicious.
I wouldn't say it's fluffy.
It's kind of dense.
This doesn't taste like a souffle type.
The syrup's really good.
I just can't say that this is the authentic Japanese pancake
that I've been dreaming of,
I've been thinking of,
ever since I saw that one video on Facebook.
Guys, if you come to Denny's and you get a pancake,
this is what you're going to get.
It tastes like America.
That breakfast you got there?
Their eggs here are just better quality.
Look at that color of the yolk.
It comes with a salad.
Sausage.
That's good.
Let me see that.
What is it?
Is it a pork sausage?
It might be pork.
It might be a bunch of things.
It's not a seafood sausage.
No.
You made it seem good.
It is, I like it.
Bacon, I think.
It looks like ham.
It's bam, or bacon.
It's really good.
Alright, so I saw this on the menu,
and I don't know what it is.
Maybe it's a hamburger.
There's definitely cheese on top.
It smells great.
What do you think?
Sauce can bring things to the next level.
This is like a spicy curry gravy
with some rice and cheese.
This is a great dish.
Want to try?
Ew, why does it fall apart like that?
Are you sure I have to eat this?
I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised.
Okay.
Yeah, I like the flavor.
That makes me so happy.
You're becoming more cultured
to the dark side of JT's palate.
You're not going to leave Jenny's hungry.
Since we are going somewhere else after this,
let's try to make sure we have a little bit of room
in our stomachs for the next spot.
There it is, Jules.
Graham Cafe and Pancakes.
Yay!
I'm so excited.
The premium pancake is what we want.
We came all the way to Japan,
the other side of the world,
just for pancakes.
Not kidding.
At least I did.
I know that you mainly came for McDonald's.
Yeah, of course.
Why wouldn't you?
It's sold out?
It was at Studio Girl.
No!
I really wanted this pancake.
Can you give me the secret recipe?
We can just look at it and pretend we're eating it.
Look it.
World's largest fluffy pancakes.
Right there.
I don't know what to do.
Should we just walk around
and see if we can find a place that sells it?
So we've made it to Flippers.
Thick and fluffy pancakes.
See, everything is so simple here.
I'm really excited.
We're in the queue in line
and they just came up to us and handed us the menu
and they said,
how many are in your party?
We told them two.
I kind of just want the original,
but holy cow, look at this chocolate goodness right here.
But we're here for that authentic pancake.
But what about getting a pancake pie?
Do you want to try that?
Picture!
Just the food.
We're still in line,
but they took our order,
so we have a little bit more waiting to do.
That's okay.
I have to go to the bathroom.
I've actually had to go to the bathroom since we got here.
I've just been holding it.
Do you want to just go over to that Starbucks and come back?
I'll hold your spot.
Really?
Yeah, go, go.
Why did you do that?
I didn't know it was the women's room.
Why are you recording this?
Was someone in there?
That bacon is kind of touching the pancake there.
That is bothering me.
Ooh, yep, see?
That pancake got ruined.
You gotta wait for good things.
You know that, right?
Patience is a virtue.
We could have just gone to Denny's and said,
you know what, those pancakes are fine.
But that's not me.
That is JP.
But that's not me.
Thank you for coming here with me.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, it's fine.
I actually ended up going to that Starbucks earlier, so.
Did you get pancakes there?
Yeah, I got pancakes.
We don't got pancakes.
Oh, that looks so good.
People at Denny's don't cook like this.
Look at that perfectly placed olive.
This is what I was born to do.
I was born to eat souffle pancakes.
I was born for it.
I need to hold it in my hands and call it my fluffy.
You still want to get that omelet?
We're going in?
It's our turn.
Don't mind my...
That's the pancake batter.
That's the pancake batter?
Yeah.
It's kind of thick.
Super fluffy.
They really whip it good.
It almost looks like a whipped cream.
They put the lid on top, steams it all.
Oh, they're putting more on top.
Oh, they make it fluffier, yeah.
Well, you know what?
From this, we might have to just make it again.
Now that we know their tricks.
Tasty, take notes.
Look at that clean, polished plates.
Oh, look at those beautiful flips.
Oh, those pancakes are so fluffy.
Those are jiggling.
Maybe there's a flavor also that we might be missing.
I see how they do it now.
We're going to have to go back.
Dun, da, da, dun.
Dun, da, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.
Literally, this should be a motion picture.
This is beautiful.
Are you happy?
I am so incredibly happy.
Let's take a selfie.
I know we never gonna look back.
Just wanna have a good time, call me whatever.
This is the best pancake I ever had, and that is not a joke.
Is it better than Denny's, though?
Yes.
It's not overly sweet.
It's kind of eggy.
That is amazing.
It just melts in your mouth.
I think America's been eating pancakes wrong.
It's jiggly.
It is like a souffle.
Is there a banana in my pocket?
Ew.
You don't even have to chew it.
I think there's something special about the eggs here in Japan.
It's like a sponge cake.
Way better option than syrup.
Guys, if you don't want to wait in line, get one of these.
There's zero wait for this.
You got your fluffy pancake.
You got like a custard of some sort.
You got these awesome wafer cookies with dusting of that powdered sugar.
Mm, wow.
Same pancake?
It's probably the same ingredients, but firmed up a little bit.
It is pre-made, so you can get it on the go.
But if you want the real deal, you gotta go with that.
Wait in line for this, guys.
Trust me.
You'll be happy you did.
There you have it, guys.
Pancakes in Japan.
Much different than what we're used to here in the U.S.
And if you go to the Denny's in Japan, it'll be the same pancake as the U.S.

We'll see you next time.
Another episode of JP and Julia.
I'm gonna cry.
It's so good.
It is good.
I never thought I'd get emotional for food.
It's a good cry.
Sometimes you just gotta cry, you know?
It's not like the cry you had earlier when you found out that the other place ran out.
Oh, that was really sad.
This is really happy.
This is a happy cry.
That was a sad cry.
Clean plate.
That's how you know, guys.
Those Denny's pancakes couldn't go down.
These ones, gone.
