Affirmations For Your Inner Child
Affirmations for your inner child. As we repeat these following affirmations
together, remember to practice focusing on feeling these statements to be true.
Witness any emotions that may come up. Allow them to be what is. To begin, find a
comfortable position to spend the next few moments together as we turn our attention
inward, bringing it first to our physical body, simply noticing how it feels in the
present moment. To help you do so, those of you who feel safe and comfortable may choose
to close your eyes or to find a place to gently soften your gaze, maybe the ground
beneath you or the wall ahead. Some of you might choose to place your hands around your
heart space. Together, we will now turn our attention inward towards stillness by taking
a deep breath, inhaling through your nose, feeling your lungs and maybe even your belly
expand, then exhaling slowly as you invite your body to begin to relax. On your own time,
breathe in deeply again, exhaling as you settle even more into the stillness of this moment.
You may repeat the following affirmations aloud, again, focusing on the feeling of these
already to be true. As we speak to our inner child, we repeat, we are safe now. You should
have been kept safe always. I promise to take care of you. I love you and will always make
sure that you're protected. It wasn't your fault and I can understand how scary it was
for you. Your caregiver's inability to love you the way you need it does not mean anything
about who you are. You are worthy and lovable and no longer need to perform for love in any way.
People who hurt others are hurting themselves. Their pain is no longer yours to carry. I forgive
myself for the things I've done because of the pain that I have carried. We are healing
and I will now make choices in our own best interest. Remember these affirmations and
take them with you as a reminder of your worthiness, of your lovability. Bring them
with you into the world. Those of you who have had your eyes closed can gently begin to return
your attention more fully to the room around you, beginning to wiggle your fingers and your toes
as you get ready to return more presently into your current experience.
