What's up guys today we're test driving the 2022 Kia Seltos XX Turbo.
Phenomenal drive, putting your foot down this thing really takes off. This one's going to
come with an MSRP of $32,995 here in Canada. We're taking this out for a nice good 10-15
minute drive to help you guys determine the ins and outs and to see if this is the car for you.
But let's talk about the power plan right away. This one comes with a 1.6 litre turbocharged
GDI engine. It's going to give you a 7-speed automatic dual clutch transmission
and that's going to give you about 175 horsepower. So when you go up to the SX Turbo you go up from
the original 146 horsepower and you get a little additional horsepower with this turbocharged
engine. And this is basically the top model so you get all the bells and whistles here.
Fuel economy will be about 8.6 litres per every 100 kilometres combined or 33 miles per gallon.
So that's the power plan. Exterior features, this one we got the black edition here. It's going to
come with things like 17 inch rims, you'll have your LED projector headlights, you'll have your
LED taillights, you'll have your rain sensing wipers as well. And then we move on to the inside
here. The inside is phenomenal guys. Nice leather seats, you got an eight-way power adjustable
driver's seat, heated and climate cooled seats as well. Bose audio upgraded sound system. So
quite a few bells and whistles in this for the top model here. I really like a few things. I
like the different drive modes. So there's a smart mode and there's a sport mode. This is
something that Kia really does well. You have this dial right down below here and you can adjust your
drive modes and to kind of customize however you want to drive the vehicle. In terms of creature
comforts, on the inside of this thing you have the UVO connect intelligence so it will sync with
the smartphone. You can do things like remote start the car, things like that. You have the
Apple CarPlay, the Android Auto, you have the Kia navigation system as well right on this nice
large screen here. Bose audio sound system is going to come upgraded so you'll get the upgraded sound.
My one complaint that I have, I don't like this heads-up display. If you take a look here,
you can see this little kind of mirrored plastic here, that's for my heads-up display.
I can turn it on and I can turn it off but it's not really a true heads-up display like we saw
like you see in the Kia Stinger where it's right into the windshield there. This one it's kind of
mirrored onto this mirrored plastic and it opens up right at the top there but not too many
complaints here with this XS Turbo. It drives nice. You probably want to see a little more better fuel
economy out of a vehicle like this. However you have like all the creature comforts that you'd be
looking for. You have the Qi wireless charging so you can just pop your phone right in the center
there. You can also plug into the USB if you want to charge from the USB. Some phones don't do the
wireless charging so that's a plus. And then we have all the safety features like the lane keeping
assistant, the blind spot monitor, you have the cruise control so you have the Kia automatic
cruise control, adaptive cruise control system, and you have their forward collision avoidance
system as well. So a lot of safety especially if you have a family. These leather seats
are pretty stiff. I think after time they might loosen up but they could be a little comfier.
And then you have this kind of blacked out plastic all throughout the doors
and all along the dash. It's kind of like a piano black. I feel like those, I've mentioned this in
my other reviews, those are a little harder to keep clean over time. So we'll see how that goes.
Let me know in the comments if you guys like that or not. I'd like to see a bit more softer surfaces
throughout this thing. Like right where my elbow is, a little hard surface. The center stack is a
little stiff and then we have this kind of hard plastic like I said all throughout the center
console. There's two cup holders. We have the electric parking brake as well and then we have
a little bit of storage right here. Let's check out the back seat. Jumping in the back you have
kind of the leather interior back here. Nice perforated leather. I like how Kia does these
hard backs as well especially if you have kids. They're always going to be kicking but they could
just do a little better with kind of the USBs and the cup holders. There's just a tiny little
tray here. There's a cup holder here as well. A little phone storage in the door and a little
phone storage down there. The back seats are heated. That's one thing you get with this XF Turbo.
Lots of space here. I'm 5'9". I got a ton of knee room, a ton of headroom so that's not bad at all.
Let's take a look at the trunk here. Decent sized trunk. This is my complaint. Look how
much wasted space they have here. They have the spare tire but a ton of wasted space.
They could have added to the cargo capacity by taking advantage of that space but 60-40 split.
Very hard to reach in and put the seats down but when you get them down
it's pretty much a flat storage surface there. In terms of sunroof, you get this kind of regular
size sunroof. Nothing fancy here but you do get a sunroof. I'm not going to open it up right now
because it's a little wet outside but you have the easy pull shade there. Just lets more light
into the vehicle. So I hope you guys liked the 2022 Seltos guys. Let me know what you guys think.
How does it compare to some of the other vehicles in its class? You know you're looking at like the
Ford EcoSport. You're looking at obviously our Nissan Qashqai. Let me know what you guys think
and if you have questions comment in the comment section below. As always if you guys are new here
don't forget to subscribe. Hit that like button as it really helps us out. We're going to do more
test drives like this and try to test drive as many new cars as we can in the upcoming year.
We'll see you in the next video. Have a great day.
