Hey, it's Aislinn.
Hey, it's Satara.
And today, Satara's going to show us how to do two cute hairstyles.
You ready?
Yep.
Let's get started.
To begin, I went through and I did some parting.
I parted her hair first down the center.
And then here, I parted off a triangle that went from the crown of her head to the base of her neck on both sides.
And then I split that in half and ponytailed the opposite sides of her hair.
Alright, so the first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to Dutch braid from here back.
And then I'm going to start pulling in this hair on top of this ponytail.
And then we're going to end it here.
I'm just going to start a Dutch braid from this corner.
I'm picking up the last section from this side of her head.
And then now that we have all that hair in the braid, I'm going to start pulling hair from this section that we left unparted.
We're not going to be pulling hair from this section that we ponytailed off.
So I'm going to be pulling hair over top of this ponytailed section.
And I'm not going to be pulling hair into this bottom part of the braid, just the top for a couple stitches.
Alright, now I'm going to start pulling hair into the bottom part of the braid.
And I'm just pulling in the last section of that part.
And we're just going to braid down a few stitches.
So you can see how this section that I ponytailed off earlier, nothing's been taken from it.
It's just covered slightly.
So over here, we're just going to finish braiding this off just a few stitches.
Just so it's away from the head.
And now I'm just going to tie it off with a ponytail.
Alright, now that I've got that tied off, I'm just going to pull these sections, the ponytails out of these sections out.
And I'm going to start on the other side's Dutch braid.
Like on the other side, now I'm going to start angling it this way so that her ponytail will end here.
And again, we're getting to this part where it's the angled part.
So we want to make sure we aren't pulling hair out of this braid.
Because I just pulled in the last section from the right side of her head,
I'm now going to go a couple stitches without pulling in any hair while I'm crossing over this other braid.
We're just going to do about three or four.
So now that I've crossed the braid, I'm going to start pulling in sections from this over here.
Now that we've ponytailed both braids off, I'm going to show you one of two ways to finish off this hairstyle.
The first one is going to be wrapped pigtails.
So to start that one, we're just going to go through and pull these braids nice and wide.
I'm just going to swap out these big bulky elastics for these smaller ones.
And I'm just going to re-tie them off a little bit higher.
So we're just going to make sure that we have these ponytails the even length.
So just even them up as you see fit.
And then to finish off this cute hairstyle, or this cute ending to this hairstyle,
we're just going to take a portion from the back of the ponytail, and we're going to wrap these elastics.
Okay, now I'm just going to take a topsy tail, and I'm just going to push it to the back of the ponytail,
and I'm going to wrap it.
And then we'll flip it back around and adjust as needed.
And then we'll just repeat it on the other side.
And this is our first ending to this hairstyle.
It's our criss-cross Dutch ponytails.
For the second end to this hairstyle, I'm going to take out these ponytails,
and I'm going to braid all the way down.
And now I'm just going to go through and pull this braid wide.
Now I'm just going to repeat the process on the other side.
So now that these braids are done, I'm going to pull these braids and line them up with the original braid.
Depending on the length of your hair or the hair of the person you're doing this on,
you can either pull this up and pin it just underneath the braid,
but because Aislinn has such long hair, I'm going to bring it up next to this braid,
and I'm going to use a topsy tail to pull it through one of the stitches on this braid.
So I'm just going to weave the braid underneath here,
and we're just going to pull it up and underneath this.
So now that I've got this braid weaved underneath this braid,
I'm going to pull it back around this way and adjust this so it lays nicely.
And again, because Aislinn has such long hair, I'm going to do some more weaving,
and I'm going to lift this braid that had no stitching against her head,
and I'm going to pull this braid under that.
And now I'm going to have her hold that piece,
and then I'm just going to go through and pin this so it doesn't fall out.
So we're just going to put a pin right here, or we can hide it with this.
I'm just going to take another one, and we're going to pin it where it's underneath this other braid,
and adjust so that icon is not showing.
Now I'm just going to take this little tail, and I'm just going to kind of tuck it up this way,
because I'm going to pull this braid up and against her head on here.
And again, I'm going to use the Topsy Tail to pull her braid through.
Adjust as needed.
And again, I'm just going to pull it back and under.
This one you will need a Topsy Tail for.
So now I've got this pulled underneath here,
and I'm just going to take a bobby pin and pin this braid closer to the original braid.
And this is our crisscrossed Dutch updo.
Thanks for watching. I hope you enjoyed these two hairstyles.
