Elon Musk is unstoppable when it comes to technology.
It's visible in his current project, the Starlink internet.
And all he's doing is a pointer to a quicker internet?
Is there a faster way to connect to the internet now?
In the first place, because it is Elon Musk's network,
the quality and background on the technology side are the highest caliber possible.
Are you looking forward to it?
And guess what, its speed is increasing.
Welcome to our channel where you have a relevant update on space tech.
In today's video, we are looking at how Elon Musk has just announced Starlink's
insane speed upgrade. So stay tuned till the end of this video
as we show you more about Elon Musk extending his technology worldwide.
Starlink, a beta program for early adopters aiming to provide services around the world,
is currently set up and running and growing rapidly.
Being in beta has only one drawback, and that's the slow internet connection.
Without being constrained by existing ground infrastructure,
Starlink offers the ability to provide broadband internet access at high speeds
to areas that currently lack such access.
Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, has stated that the Starlink satellite internet service
will be able to carry data at the speed of light when it launches.
SpaceX wants to put laser-equipped satellites into orbit,
which will help to eliminate the need for ground stations in the near future.
The Starlink network now relies on a dish, satellites and a base station.
In order to speed up data transmissions, it appears that the corporation wants to
get rid of these ground stations that take so long to interact with satellites.
According to Musk's assertions, lasers would be able to transmit data
at a rate of 40% quicker than optical fibers.
It's possible that, as a result, we could see internet transfer speeds
that don't require us to touch the ground.
Based on Musk's claim, the current speed of optical fiber,
Starlink will be able to carry data packets at a rate of 180,832 miles per second,
which is 97% the speed of light in a vacuum, according to calculations.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has promised that Starlink will soon eliminate the need
for any ground stations in the Arctic and will also supply sufficient bandwidths.
This isn't out of the question, given how quickly SpaceX is moving forward.
With the help of its second-generation satellites, SpaceX hopes to triple data capacity,
reduce latency to 50 milliseconds and improve coverage of the poles.
A little over 1,200 Starlink satellites will be launched by SpaceX in the next few months,
although the launch may be delayed owing to the lack of rocket oxidizer
and a time-consuming satellite production process.
Elon Musk also plans to deploy a satellite to serve as an orbiting billboard for advertisements.
Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla,
is rumored to have fresh ideas for advertising that would literally take it to the stars.
A Canadian startup is working with Elon Musk to create a satellite that will be
used as a billboard in space. SpaceX will participate in the billionaire's newest
project by launching a satellite into low orbit by the end of next year.
Adverts will be sent into orbit from Earth using a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket,
which the company's team is working on.
CubeSat is the name of the satellite and it has a pixelated display panel
that will display the data it receives from Earth.
It was noted by Geometric Energy Corp, the business SpaceX is collaborating with,
that the screen can be utilized for more than just advertising.
GEC's CEO and co-founder Samuel Reid told Business Insider that the rocket that will
launch CubeSat into orbit would release it before it reaches the moon.
Despite the fact that this billboard will not be seen from Earth, some may find it obtrusive.
Selfie sticks will be used to capture and transmit content and advertisements via satellite
to sites that stream them.
Video from the satellite's display will be transmitted to various online platforms
such as YouTube and Twitter, rather than being made available to the public.
People can see the satellite's screen if they've got internet connectivity
and access to such websites.
It may wind up being a little more personal and artistic,
or it could reflect the company's brand, Reid said.
As a result, I'm attempting to create a system that allows for a wide range of people to
participate in a project.
I hope people don't spend money on something that is improper, demeaning or offensive.
As well as being delivered to Ukraine, SpaceX Starlink users' terminal have been given the
green light to enable internet access in Nigeria and Mozambique.
During the Russian invasion, the Ukrainians may be without their usual service,
but thanks to a shipment of Starlink's user terminals, they have a backup plan in place.
It was recently stated that Elon Musk had enabled Starlink internet service in Ukraine
as the country was experiencing power outages and internet service gaps due to Russia's invasion.
At the time, Musk, SpaceX founder and CEO, also said that more were on their way.
The support from SpaceX arrived after Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister, Mikhail Fedorov,
also Ukraine's Minister for Digital Transformation, tweeted a plea to Musk over the weekend.
While you try to colonise Mars, Russia try to occupy Ukraine.
Russian rockets are attacking Ukrainian civilians while your rocket successfully lands in space.
Ukraine needs Starlink stations and you should tell all rational Russians to rise up.
During the arrival of the Starlink's terminals in Ukraine,
Fedorov tweeted a picture of them and thanked Elon Musk.
The CEO of SpaceX said, you're more than welcome.
Satellite-based internet constellation Starlink aims to deliver high-speed broadband connectivity
to billions of people throughout the world who now lack it.
As a failsafe for land-based internet access in the event of war or natural disaster,
satellite internet has long been a staple of the internet infrastructure.
It can also get to places where there isn't currently any ground infrastructure.
In spite of this, satellite internet is known to be slow and unreliable.
As a result, Starlink uses Low Earth Orbit or LEO satellites to provide continuous coverage
and better upload and download speeds than the current offerings from Verizon or AT&T.
More than 145,000 people in 25 countries
signed up for SpaceX's Starlink service in the past few months.
As of now, around 2,000 Starlink satellites have been launched by SpaceX
and the company intends to launch thousands more.
In the midst of Vladimir Putin's decision to put Russia's nuclear deterrent forces on high alert,
Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Fedorov engaged in a Twitter conversation.
A meeting of the Russian and Ukrainian delegations is scheduled to begin on Monday morning,
according to Ukraine's Deputy Interior Minister Evgeny Yenin.
Despite intermittent power disruptions, the internet is still largely available in Ukraine,
according to a senior U.S. defense source who spoke to reporters on Saturday.
Following the January eruption of an undersea volcano in Tonga,
the Starlink technology was recently used to connect isolated villages in the South Pacific
Ocean. According to CNN, the eruption was the largest in the world in more than 30 years.
For the first time ever, the satellite internet service established by Elon Musk's SpaceX
has received approval from Nigeria and Mozambique.
The Nigerian Communications Commission, or NCC, according to Niometrics,
also validated this revelation.
Obtaining a license was discussed during the company's May 2016 trip to Nigeria.
This licensing was granted as a result.
Over 400,000 people worldwide use Starlink, which is currently available in 36 countries.
It will do business as Starlink Internet Services Nigeria Limited,
with the International Gateway License and the Internet Service Provider License.
According to NCC, ISP licenses last for 5 years,
while International Gateway licenses last for 10 years.
According to Niometrics, both licenses will go into force in May of 2022
and may be extended at that time.
To satisfy the needs of consumers in remote areas with poor internet penetration,
Starlink is a low-latency broadband internet system.
In layman's terms, it provides remote areas with lightning-fast internet access
through the use of satellites.
Internet speeds of 150 Mbps can theoretically be delivered to any location on Earth,
and open sky is all the buyer wants.
MTN and Airtel dominate the Nigerian ISP market,
as well as smaller providers like Spectronet and Smile.
Starlink joins the market.
Nigerians should expect to pay an additional $110 per pre-order
and a monthly membership to Starlink
compared to the typical $50 cost of similar internet plans available in the country.
Premium services cost $2,500 for the kit and $500 each month.
If you're a Nigerian, you'll consider this pricing range prohibitively pricey.
The underground connections for high-speed internet
may not be the best option for everyone who needs it.
Elon Musk's Starlink is attracting the world's attention
as it launches its service in the new nations.
Do you think the Starlink internet is what the world should accept?
