Modest-Adventures The Snowdon Horseshoe - January 26th 2011

This is the first time you've done Snowdon and you're climbing Crib Gough in winter aren't you? That is commendable. At the start of the Crib Gough Ridge, which I haven't even been up here for about nine years. I don't think it will change too much. Ice and snow. Some people when they've done Crib Gough for the first time might be intimidated by this part. But that is pure sheer. Are you ready? Okay. Brilliant. I'll lead the way. There's one hand as well because I'm filming like an idiot. Make sure there's no ice. When you're on it you'll see it's not as bad as it looks because it's all slanting inwards which is a really good thing because if it wasn't, we'd be doing the pig track right now. Ah yes, see it's easy and that is why we do Crib Gough ladies and gentlemen. Because you don't see this kind of thing from the pig track, which is all the way down there. And we have just walked along the edge of that. Tell me about that dude. Um, piece of piss. Best part of five minutes. Put your little eyes shut if you want. And I'm off. Right, camera off. Nearly there aren't you? Well, nearly at the top of Crib Gough. Nah, it's too obvious where to go around here. Just follow the ridge and don't fall off. Simple. We're at Crib Gough. And you're lasagna. In this nuclear wasteland. I've got like a runny nose as well. It's not really what you'd think. And you're snot. More valuable than gold. Hopefully Snowdon is a little bit clearer than this. And it is just over there as you can clearly see. Just makes you dizzy. Look at this snow drift. I wonder why it just stops here. It's like a mini glacier. Just like creeping down the railway track. And here we are, top of Snowdon. Ironically, me and Sam had a better view when we were up here at four in the morning. Here's Anya just before she falls on her ass. That's Anya flipping me off. Right. Quick summary. That's the top of Snowdon. We were going to go back to the pig track. But now we've just... Because it's easy. And the path is just there. Have you ever thought to yourself, that I was once compared to a mountain goat and you almost did your own race? I never almost did it. I just thought about doing it once. Let's not be under any illusions, Anya. I am a liability. It's going to take us a week. Yeah, this is going to take us a week. But it is quite steep and icy.
