4 Days in MALTA 🇲🇹 _ Valletta, Gozo, Mdina & More Travel Vlog
It's moments like these that you really take a step back and you think,
you know what, life's pretty good.
This week Malta's having a giant celebration and as you can see,
the entire square here in Gozo is just decked out in these gorgeous decorations.
It's extremely, extremely intricate.
Alright, our next stop is Guntia Temples and this is a very, very ancient site.
And can I just say guys, this place rocks. Get it?
Look at all these ruins guys.
These are from 3006 BC and actually seem to be really well preserved.
And now we're exploring the gorgeous narrow streets of Citadella.
It's a beautiful, beautiful fortress on the top of a hill here in Gozo
and the views over the city and over the entire island are just stunning.
But for now, I'm enjoying the shade.
Guys, this is insane, insane weather.
It's about 30 something degrees.
It definitely feels like 40. The humidity is so high.
But I do have to say, if you're trying to get away in September in Europe
and you want to warm your bones before the winter, this is the place to do it.
The flights tend to be really cheap.
I flew a Jet 2 from Manchester.
Really nice, comfortable flight and here I am.
And now we are on...
That is the prison street out of town of Monte Cristo.
Et voila, here we are. This is the Blue Lagoon.
You can see the crystal clear waters behind me.
And it does get a little bit crowded.
There are loads of people jumping off the rocks.
But it is a pretty special place.
I have seen water like this in very, very few places around the world.
How was that for you, Mel?
Fantastic.
And that is the final verdict on the Blue Lagoon.
That was actually really nice and so refreshing.
It's another lovely day here in Malta.
And right now we're actually exploring a place called Upper Baraka Gardens.
And there aren't just flowers that you can see.
There is some lovely architecture.
But the best part, as per usual, is the view.
So let's have a look at that.
One really interesting fact about Malta that you may not have known
is that it's a really popular filming site.
So movies from Gladiator and World War Z all the way to Popeye
have actually been filmed here.
And there is a great lookout in this location
that lists all of these different movies
and shows you exactly where you can see the filming location.
Game of Thrones also, shout out, has been filmed here, some scenes.
So, yeah, pretty special place
and very malleable in terms of what place it looks like
because Malta is such a great melting pot of different cultures,
even their language, Maltese,
and that is reflected in all the architecture around you.
So I would highly recommend it to any of you film geeks out there.
And we've come back to the view because I just can't stay away from it.
Our next stop is a place called Casa Rocca Piccola.
I'm doing an Italian accent. I don't know why.
But it's a 16th century palace that used to belong to a noble Maltese family.
So hopefully, we're going to learn a lot about the fancy people.
Guys, I will say, this is a pretty sick crib.
But genuinely, this is a sick crib.
I would very happily live in it.
Mark my words, friends, when I build my own home library,
it better look like this.
Oh, my gosh.
Right, it's lunchtime and we're at Rubino,
which is a great local restaurant serving up local specialties.
The man has just brought out this incredible antipasto spread.
And I'm not going to lie, I'm a little bit in love with him
because this food looks insane.
Caponata, caponata with aubergine, tomato.
Just arrived at our next hotel, which is the Palace Hotel.
I have about an hour and a half to just sit down and decompress.
It's been a really full-on day.
And we are off on a sunset cruise.
So I'm going to get changed and get showered.
It has been so hot, you guys.
You wouldn't believe.
See you soon.
Well, I promised you a boat.
And a boat and a skipper is what you're going to get.
And we are on board.
Here is some machinery I'm not going to touch.
And here are my three lovely dates.
Yeah, I'll be linking them below in the description.
So don't forget to check out their Instagram.
And let's get on the road or on the water.
What are we saying?
On the waves, man.
On the waves.
The waves.
So that's where we're in the morning, the Upper Bracca Gardens.
And right now, we are in the beautiful Grand Harbor.
And behind me, you can see everything's ready for Festa tonight,
which is this awesome local festival we're going to go to
in a few hours after dinner.
But we have already filled our bellies over here.
So I don't know what's going to happen with that.
We just saw these people.
And we are pulling up so we can give them a beer.
And now we're in this lovely local village called Melilla
where they're celebrating Festa.
And we are sat down at this restaurant,
which, funnily enough, is called Commando.
But I'm pretty sure we're all wearing underwear.
It looks like Disneyland.
It's incredible.
We're going to go up and hopefully catch some of the fireworks.
Oh my, Malta.
It's another beautiful day here on the island.
And we are currently in the midst of all the Festa celebrations in Nashar.
And the decorations that you can see behind me are all handmade,
which absolutely blew my mind.
Because if you could see how intricate and how plentiful they are,
you would be amazed.
We just completely randomly walked into this palace across the street.
And have a look at this.
And wait till I show you the ballroom.
We've even found some of the original decor.
Well, lunch was excellent.
I have been completely overeating here in Malta,
having a starter, a main, and a dessert most of the meals.
And today, I actually didn't have a dessert.
So bravo, Sabina.
And now, luckily, we are going to sit down in these awesome buggies.
It's a company called Rolling Geeks.
And they do self-guided driving tours.
So we're going to do one of those around this area.
That's called Three Cities.
Very excited.
Believe it or not, the houses on either side of the road
actually used to be a fort and are now council housing for locals.
Quick pit stop in the harbor, and we're back on the road.
Good morning.
We're on the rooftop of our hotel, the Palace Hotel, here in Malta.
And we're currently enjoying the pool.
What is with my hair?
And there's another pool as well.
Oh, yeah, an infinity pool.
Final morning in Malta, and we're about to go segwaying.
How are we feeling?
Hey.
Yeah, we're really tired.
And I'm not so sure about this whole segway thing.
So maybe, just maybe, segway Malta is going to convince me otherwise.
Let's see.
So I'm literally going to eat my words,
because A, segwaying was actually incredible.
And secondly, we are going to a great restaurant.
It's called Djar El Bnit.
And they do sustainable, locally produced food.
So, as you know, I'm very excited.
Littlefingers Rotel.
In season one, the scenes were filmed here.
This is the final stop of our entire trip to Malta.
That right there is the Blue Grotto.
The weather isn't perfect today,
so we don't have the best viewing conditions.
But it's still pretty stunning.
Thank you so much for following along.
I really hope you enjoyed this adventure.
