Today I'm going to show you how to make a beautiful bed crown canopy for your
nursery for under $65. I'm Jennifer with Jennifer
Decorates, so stay tuned.
Okay, the first thing you need is a bed crown.
This is actually a shelf that I purchased from Hobby Lobby.
It's going to be really easy to hang. I'll show you how to do that in a minute.
The second thing is you're going to need some shears.
I love these. I found these at Target. They have embroidered little dots on
them. You're going to need two panels, long panels, and the last thing
you're going to need is a really cheap tension rod. You're going to want to get
the smallest one. So the first thing you need to do is
figure out where you want to hang your bed crown.
I marked the middle of my wall and then I held my shelf up like this
and I marked exactly where my screws need to go.
Now a quick tip is don't go ahead and put those screws in first.
I always like to put a small nail in and go ahead and hang my shelf.
That way I can see if it's straight and if it's lined in the middle of the wall
then I don't have huge screw holes. Once you got it just right,
put your screws in and we'll go to the next step.
While the bed crown and the curtain that you're going to use
really are not going to be very heavy and don't warrant what's called an anchor.
For safety reasons I'm going to go ahead and put an anchor in because if the baby
gets older and decides to yank on that curtain
that bed crown is not going to fall on top of their head.
An anchor is really easy to use. I buy the little ones that screw right into
the wall and they come with the screws. The last thing you're going to do is
you're going to put your two shears onto your tension rod
and when you purchase a tension rod there'll be a little screw right here.
You just use a screwdriver and it's adjustable to the size you need.
I got mine ready to go and I'm going to slide that up in there until it fits.
There we go and let me adjust this and I'll be right there.
So how easy was that and it turned out beautiful. Be sure to subscribe to my
channel as I'm going to be posting more videos about this beautiful nursery
that is going to belong to my very first grandbaby.
Thank you for watching and have a wonderful day.
