DIY Animal Keychain Charms | Michele Baratta

Hi everyone, today I have an adorable DIY. I'm going to show you how to make keychains out of those little plastic animals. What you'll need for this project are plastic animals, little eye hooks, pliers, large jump springs, and keychain holders. I have a couple different choices. This one's a little more extravagant. I really like those. And then these other ones are the basic kind. And spray paint. This is a gold metallic spray paint. First you're going to take one of your animals and put it in a box and then spray paint it with gold. I put it in the box so that there's not the over spray getting on everything and I do it outside. Then take an eye hook and you're going to put it in the center of the back of one of your animals and you're going to kind of push firmly so it kind of grips in there and then you're going to start turning and keep turning until it's all the way secure. And it's going to get tighter and tighter to turn so you're going to want to take your pliers and that will help you rotate it around. After you have your animals with their little eye hooks in the back, you're going to take a large jump ring and you're going to open that up with your pliers and using your hand as a leverage and you're going to open side to side. Remember I always say side to side because if you open it up like a claw you would never be able to get it back in place. Then you're going to add your keychain mechanism, close the jump ring, and you're done. Look how cute that looks. I think they're so cool. You can hang them from a backpack, you can use them with your keys as a keychain. I think they're just the cutest little things.
