how to acid clean brickwork
What is up guys, hope you're doing well. In this video I'm going to show you how to clean some brickwork.
But first of all I need to build a stretcher bomb panel to demonstrate.
All aboard the Becky Train! Choo Choo!
As always we've got our training mortar and our base and we're ready to go.
Alright guys, I've grown up three coasters, looking pretty, pretty good.
The bricks are a little bit wet but that's my fault again, I keep leaving them outside.
Won't learn my lesson will I? Never mind.
I've had a few complaints about my music on my videos guys.
So for the small minority, to keep them happy, this one's for you.
Happy now, on with the video.
No, I'm not going scuba diving. I'm going to show you how to clean a brickwork panel.
Right guys, I've got my hands protected, got my eyes protected.
Let's get into it now. We're going to use something called brick cleaner, acid cleaner, whatever you want to call it.
You can get it at most DIY stores.
Just be really careful with it, that's all I ask you to do.
Because it's very toxic and if you get it on your skin it will burn.
So I only use a really small amount, so I'm going to pour a bit into there and then use just this little bit of a brush.
It's just perfect for cleaning the face of the brick off. You don't need to go daft with it.
So all we're going to do, I mean you can dilute it with water, but I'm just going to put a bit in there.
That's all we need. Be very careful with it.
Screw the top on tightly, put it away safely out of the reach of children.
So we're just going to dab our brush in it, just only a little bit on the tips of the brush.
And just use a gentle brushing motion and it will get rid of all the bits, all the lime.
Just burns it all off.
Perfect little brush this, I don't know where it's from, I found it.
I couldn't tell you where to buy this from.
I don't know what it's called.
What would you call that brush?
A round, circular, funny looking brush, please.
It's my pet hair, you know, marks on the bricks.
Proud in the job, isn't it?
You could leave it, couldn't you?
But I don't want to.
Proud in the job.
Let's just double check it.
Right, there we go guys.
Let's just go over the point in there, put that away, be careful with it.
Take my goggles off because I won't be able to see.
Well there you have it guys, that is how you clean a panel of brickwork using Acid Cleaner and a brush.
Simpler than you thought, wasn't it really?
You can dilute it with a bit of water if you're not 100% certain with using chemicals like that
because it is dangerous and you've got to make sure everything is protected.
Your hands, your eyes, everything.
I know I've not got long sleeves on, I should have really,
but it's absolutely 100 degrees out here and I'm baking.
Thanks very much for watching guys, hope you enjoyed it.
