Hey YouTube, hey everybody! Welcome back to my channel.
If you are new to my channel and happen to stumble by,
I'm your girl Bella and I would totally love if you joined me on my YouTube
adventures. Hi guys, how's it going? How's it going?
Okay, first off, you're gonna have to leave me a
comment and tell me, does it look better? Does the video look
better? Crisper, because I'm filming on a brand
brand new device. So you'll have to tell me that
first off. Hope you guys had a great week. This
video is going up late late on Friday
because I never got a chance to do it and I never had a chance. So I'm doing it
late in the afternoon on Friday and by the time
I edit in stuff, it'll be up later for you guys.
Anyways, I hope you had a great week so far.
I know you saw the title of the video so let's jump in this.
First off, I just recently bought this tree.
I got it from Walmart USA. It is an amazing buy.
I love it. It is a great great quality. It's pre-lit
flock. It's a seven and a half foot tall tree. I love it. It's beautiful.
What did I want to accomplish? This right here.
This right here is the Balsam Hill catalog that I got in the mail and
if you've never heard of Balsam Hill, they are
a very very high-end exclusive company and they had this tree
on the cover of their catalog and when I saw it, I said to myself,
I said, my goodness, this is what I want to achieve.
So I went out and bought a flock tree and I've never had a flock tree before
so it's something new to me. Well, I had a little bit of a hard time.
Now, Balsam Hill sells all the ribbon and the ornaments that you can put on
the tree. It's very expensive and I thought, no, I
can dupe this. So I have pre-recorded clips
on how I achieved this look. So I'm gonna roll those and then come
back and we'll finish this off. This is how I started my tree this year.
As you can see here, I am doing my topper and of course Angela is
asking me some questions about something. I don't know what that was
and this was filmed a few nights ago. I told you that.
What I used here are some berry picks that I picked up last year from Walmart
and a few little pit berry picks. These are all the things I had actually from
last year. So I didn't spend a lot of money to
recreate this look and I just want to give you
some tips as we go along. Maybe you'll find them useful for your own decorating
because I know a lot of you will be starting your decorating after Thanksgiving.
When you're doing a tree topper, I've noticed a lot of people do them
and it doesn't correspond with the tree. So try and make it come down a little bit more
so that it corresponds in your tree and it doesn't look so out of place.
That would be my only tip and always stand back and look at what you're doing
and see if it flows nicely. So that's another good tip I have for you.
I'm finally starting my ribbon and I'm showing you what I'm doing here.
So I took that farmhouse ribbon that I showed you in a shopping haul
and the red it's like a mesh ribbon that I bought from Walmart.
I just wanted to give the tree a little bit of oomph.
I am double looping and you'll see here. So I make two double loops and then a long loop
and you'll see that. So I loop once and then I loop twice again
and position it in and then I go down about 12 inches,
pinch it together and then tie it into the tree and then I'm going to cut it off.
You'll see that in a second. I measure it, I position it and then I get my scissors
and I cut them off. So I cut it off here and then I dovetail the end of that also
just to just to make it look really tailored and polished and I like to see the red mesh.
But don't worry you'll see it close up when I show you the tree in its final stage.
And again I use this green wire. Sorry I was bending down.
I use this green wire and I tie it and what I'm doing here again is I tie my wire in.
I make one small loop then another small loop and then I go down about 12 inches or so
and then pinch that tuck it in and then cut a tail and that's how I do it.
Anytime I'm decorating a tree or anything actually anything that I'm decorating I always like to
stand back. So I urge you all when you're doing anything in decor stand back and see if you like
it. And here you can just see I'm just going to continue with my ribbon all the way down the tree
and I use the same method and I zigzag my ribbon like I have it go one way and then I have it go
the other way and so it flows nicely. And I'm doing this throughout the tree this year. I've
done the double loop and then one single loop. So three loops together on one ribbon and as you can
see Hallmark is playing in the background. And I did film this at different times guys and you'll
notice I'm going to change outfits in a little bit. Here's another tip I have for you all.
If you can't attach the beginning of the wire of your ribbon in your tree use the green very thin
gauge floral foam wire the green one. You can buy it at Michael's or any craft store. It's amazing
to use. And as you can see here my ribbon is starting to cascade down the tree and I'm continuing
the same thing constantly the double loop and the larger loop and then a dovetail and then you can
see that there. So here I was just showing you again in more in depth how I did the ribbon and
I was watching Hallmark and I was laughing this movie was actually really good. So again grab your
wire twist it around loop your ribbon in and as you can see I'm going back and forth in the tree
different angles. That's what makes it look so interesting your tree because a lot of people
just kind of wrap the ribbon around or make loops but this gives it a little more interest like the
double loop and then the one large single loop with a tail. I think it made it look a lot better
that way. Sorry I have my back to you guys but that was the only way I could do it. Okay here's
my epic fail. I bought these ornaments at Walmart. I loved them when I saw them I was like oh my god
they are so beautiful they were clear they had like greenery in them and a little bit of berries.
They looked terrible on the tree. They just I don't know I ended up taking them out. I tried
them I stood back I looked at them and I thought oh this is an epic fail. Now if the tree had been
green I think it would these would have been great. So I'm just gonna keep them in my stash
because I don't know where I put the receipts. I can't take them back but I'm gonna keep them
but they did not work in a flock tree so just so you know. You see me here continuing with my ribbon
because what I did is I periodically put uh well I wanted the big ornaments and you can see I've
taken them out and now I'm starting to do all my little ornaments and guys I really scored this
year from Walmart. These mercury glass ornaments with the cardinal on it were absolutely beautiful
and here's these ornaments that I got from Hobby Lobby. They're the cloth ornaments in the red
ticking fabric. I'm not a I'm not a super fan of them to tell you the truth. They looked okay.
I wasn't thrilled and here you'll see I'm using red ornaments. I mixed them. I have some
matte ones and some very very glossy ones and these are glass and that's why you'll see me
taking them out of the container. These are these I had these so I did not purchase these. Okay
here's another tip I can give you. I kind of split my tree in half so what I do on one side
I'll always do on the other side and this tree I did not decorate the back. I mean a little bit
going towards the back on both sides because of the little mirror and depending on where you stand
in the room you could see a tiny bit but not really. So I kind of split my tree in half
and what I have on one side I also have on the other side. That's another trick of mine.
Now just so you know I worked on my tree a few nights in a row because I kind of did it after
work you know whenever I had time and you see me fussing with it. I did once I was done with the
red I went down in my stash and got copper. Okay here's the final look. I love it. I think it turned
out beautiful. You can see the ribbon in detail looks very very pretty. The red picks from Hobby
Lobby are the perfect perfect dupe and I think the red and the copper and the mercury glass all tied
together so beautifully. So I'm very very happy. I didn't spend a lot of money at all just the
the ribbon what I had and really the picks that's all I purchased this year for this tree.
Oh and those red and white ornaments from Hobby Lobby which I'm not a super fan. Oh and this
beautiful copper tree collar which I got at Michael's. Okay that is the end of the video.
I hope this video gave you some inspiration and this is what I wanted to achieve when I started
out thinking about this video and this tree the decor behind this and my family room in general.
My family room is where we watch tv we relax you know we kick back at the end of the night
and I always wanted to feel comfy and cozy yet I love a high-end look. So when I saw the Balsam
Hill catalog I mean look at this tree it is amazing it's truly amazing. Now that the tree
in this catalog is over I think eight hundred dollars they said and I really think I achieved
the look. I really do I mean the berries are almost identical my berries are from Hobby Lobby
the red ornaments I have they have copper elements in their tree. I had copper elements in my stash
because I used to do a copper and a blue a copper blue and champagne tree years and years ago so I
still have all those ornaments. I never throw anything away. My daughter says I'm just the
the organized hoarder which is probably true and the ribbon I bought from Hobby Lobby. Now the
Balsam Hill one is much darker in color but that's okay this one was almost identical and it was very
inexpensive you know Hobby Lobby had all their ribbons 50% off I think it was $9.99 with 50%
off so that was good and then the red mesh one is from Walmart. I wanted something a little extra
so I'm debating. Now if you see this switched out by the time the home tour comes around
don't be surprised I might change the ribbon I might just leave it. Y'all like I said when I
was showing you the clips I even bought a star I got up there I put it on it never looked right
to me I don't know you know it's hit miss but like I say in decorating there's really no mistakes
you can't make a mistake so just have fun with your decor and I hope you enjoyed this video I
hope you enjoyed spending a little bit of time with me today because I just love you guys so so
