As I have told you that I tend to leave the bottom a bit thicker and I'm just going to use
a very sharp trimming tool to remove the clay. So first sandering my clay. Get some clay coil to
secure my plate. Alright so when you're trimming make sure you always want to keep your tool really
sharp so that it will be able to cut the clay fast and easy. So I always try to trim to
approximate the right size, the right width of my foot and then I start to take care of the clay.
Make sure that the edge here is level and then I'm making a mark here. So this is going to be
the width of my foot rim and then I'm going to remove the clay in the middle. So for using my
shin tool, the trimming tool, when you're trimming you have to hold your tool really tight otherwise
the clay is going to drag and pull away your trimming tool. So hold it tight. Try to find
the support. Usually I extend my left thumb here so that I have support. So I'm checking the
thickness of the bottom. Still sounds dull so I could go a bit deeper. So I'm turning my tool so
you see that there is a right degree here, right 90 degrees here. So I'm going to use that to take
care of the corner, the inside corner. So I think the thickness is the wheel so you'll be able to
hear it. When it's thinner, the pitch sounds higher. So I think it's about right to refine my
foot rim here. Putting some angle here so that the foot here that is not very sharp
right by the edge and then I can use the back of my tool to compress. So I'm going to put some
chattering mark right here and tool and at a certain angle. This is also the number one
number one my shin trimming tool. So this blade is a little bit longer so it helps it to bounce.
So hold it longer at a certain angle and spin my wheel fast. I'll put some chattering mark
on this part here and then I'm going to take care of this part.
So before I do that I like to put my stamp that's my signature on the foot.
Right so carefully remove my coil on the edge.
Just because you don't have anything to hold it so it might move away. So when you are trimming
this part here just turn your tool lightly very light fly away. For the trimming thumb
I'm just using the sponge to smooth the edge. So that's the shape and this is the back
a little bit of a chattering mark on the back. Okay thanks for watching.
