Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another video of Cars Unlocked.
My name is Christopher. Today we're going to check out the 2019 Nissan Altima SV,
fully redesigned for this year. Comes with the new all-wheel drive system. I can't wait to take a
look. If you want to see more of these videos, please do not hesitate to subscribe to my channel.
Ask me a few questions. If you want to know anything that I didn't mention about the Altima
in the comment section below. Let's get to it. So today we're talking about the SV Altima. You can
see in my other video I reviewed the Platinum Edition 1, which is our top model. The SV is
right in the middle. There's one below this which is the S and then there's the SV and then we get
into the Platinum levels. With this SV you do add a few luxury upgrades that you wouldn't get in the
base model. What we can see from the side profile, we add the aluminum alloy rims which you go up
from your standard steel covers. Nice LED turning accents on the mirrors. Chrome finish on the
windows and handles. That's in all the Altimas but it gives it a nice luxury look.
This year's model has been fully redesigned. It gives it a little lower feel, makes it more
competitive and gives it a sporty look for this family sedan size market. I mentioned this in my
other video, coming right from the Nissan Maxima is this floating look in the back. So they blacked
out this A-pillar here and really gives it a full floating look. Huge new look to the front of the
Nissan Altima. As you can see the front grille has gotten a lot bigger and that Nissan V-Motion
grille goes down really low almost to the bottom of the car. They've given it this nice large
bold Nissan symbol. It's flattened out because our safety sensors are behind there. That's going to
offer features like our forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection and our Nissan ProPILOT
assist. The headlights are all LED headlights so another high-end feature that you get. You do get
the auto on off headlights as well and we do have the LED fog lights down below. Nothing too
fancy here on the rear. Our backup camera is right below our Nissan symbol. In addition to the 2019
redesign are the rear sensors. So it's going to assist you when parking and it's going to help
use that ProPILOT assist which I will get to in a second. Dual chrome exhaust below gives it a nice
sporty finish. So a little different rim. The spokes are very large. They don't look very large
because you do have the silver accents here but this is all black if you can see behind here. So
they've added a really large spoke to the rim. When you go up to this SV model you do move up to
the 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels. So as I mentioned the biggest addition to the 2019 Altima is the
intelligent intuitive all-wheel drive system. Similar system to what's in your Nissan Rogue
where it's going to automatically sense when you're slipping and sliding and then it will kick it into
the all-wheel drive. The powertrain Nissan's tweaked a little bit for the new redesign. You
still get the 2.5 four-cylinder direct injection gasoline. It's going to give you about 188
horsepower and 178 pounds feet of torque. Sticking with the Nissan CVT transmission that's something
that a lot of my people comment about is the CVT transmission but Nissan's gone full-blown with
the CVT. They've kept it in the new Altima and I'm sure they'll continue to tweak it for years to
come. With the CVT you do get phenomenal fuel mileage. That's one thing I love about owning a
Nissan Altima. It's going to be about 7.9 liters per every 100 kilometers combined which is going
to transfer into about 36 mpg. Coming standard on all the Altimas now is the remote starter. So
perfect for the winter time you can just push the button twice there and hold the remote starter
button and it's going to warm up the car for you. Now that the car is warming up let's check out the
inside. So a ton of changes when I sit into the Nissan Altima. There is the zero gravity seats
that's a signature of Nissan. Those won't be going away because they've been very very popular. We
have the NASA inspired zero gravity seats. This one is an eight-way power adjustable driver's seat.
On the interior of this SV package we have the nice chrome little plastic accents here. Very soft
surfaces all throughout the vehicle. When you go up to the platinum you do see the wood tone trim
and you can check out my other video to see that up close. So let's start it up and check out this
steering wheel. Taken right out of the Nissan Rogue we have the d-shaped steering wheel. One of
my favorite things about this SV model is you do get the pro pilot assist and the Nissan safety
shield features. So when some of the other makes like the Rogue and the Qashqai you have to go up
to the top model but the pro pilot assist is going to keep you centered in the lane. It's going to use
the intelligent cruise control to keep the distance from the person in front of you a certain length
and then you have the blind spot monitors and the lane departure warning. So really you can drive
almost hands-free. Our bluetooth is on the wheel as well and then our radio and cruise control
is to the left here. One thing I didn't mention in the edition one video is Nissan added the vehicle
information screen. You have this very large seven inch screen. It's a lot bigger than the previous
model and the biggest thing is you have the digital speedo. So that wasn't in the previous
Ultima models. The digital speedometer gives it a little more modern and puts it in with its
competitors there. Okay so this is awesome. Nissan added the vehicle information screen right to the
top of the dash almost giving it that tablet look similar to what's in your Mazdas and some of its
other competitors. It allows for an easier viewing angle so I don't have to look all the
way down here like last year's model. I can just look straight and it allows me to keep my eyes on
the entertainment system and the road at the same time. Not as many features as the
edition one. This one doesn't come with the nav or gps. I do have my bluetooth connections, my audio
series satellite xm. You can play music through bluetooth as well. USB. One standard feature that
Nissan has added to every Ultima is the apple carplay and android auto. So I can set that up
to play music and I can use the nav on my phone that way and apps like Waze. That's going to come
standard in the Ultima which is a pretty big feature. A lot larger knobs on this year's
edition here. The redesigned bigger temperature knobs. It is Nissan's dual temperature control
that you get in this sv package. One feature that I like is they added the heated seats and
the heated steering wheel controls right there. So all our climate controls are in one spot
and I can control my heated wheel and my heated seats. Two usb ports up here. We have our usb c
and then we do have our regular usb. There is a little phone storage so I can put my phone in
the slot there. So they took the position of the push button start and put it right above our
shifter. It's now right there. Makes it a little easier to find. Before it was a little hidden
behind the steering wheel. So with this sv model you add the sunroof to the roof. It is a manual
shade and then you do have the regular sunroof. No panoramic roof like in the Rogue or the Maximas.
They just kept this the same. So one thing the Nissan Ultima is known for is having a ton of
in the back. Like I said perfect for that family size sedan. There is a lot of space. One thing I've
noticed about this redesign is we lost a little head headroom from last year's model. That's
probably because they backed out that pillar there. But there is still a ton of space. The
seats are very comfortable. I have this nice two-tone cloth and then I have the cup holders as
well in the center stack there. There's also two usbs back here which is going to charge your phone
allow you to play music. A very large trunk in the Nissan Ultima. There's not much you can't fit
back here. It is a 60 40 split seat. Of course it's going to come with the carpeted mats.
But get a shot of that Kaylee. It's a very big trunk. So there you have it folks. A quick look
at the 2019 Nissan Ultima SV. If you have any questions about this vehicle or any other vehicles
