2 nights spent on he island flood camp lots of wind and rain but nice and safe in my hammock I cooked sea bass fillets and pasta and some nice bacon rolls for breakfast lots of fun with Tyson
So it's wet and windy again and I'm heading out to the first flood plain. I've got my hammock and all
that. Right as soon as I got here I pretty much lit the fire so I've got a nice bit of ash in there,
twigs, bit of nice logs and all that sorted. I'll show you my Tyson's there.
He's not there now. I've got my hammock and tarp up. I've got my underquilt on there.
I've got all my stuff here. I haven't used this in a long time. I got it and it blunted really
really fast so I've managed to... someone on the comment box left us a comment about sandpaper and
drawing it with the blade so I've tried that and hopefully that'll work. I've got my axe with us too.
No chainsaw this week. Didn't think I needed it because I've already got a bench here.
Yeah my rucksack's there and my food bag and my sleeping bag's in there.
I don't think I'm expecting it to flood. I may get a little bit of rise but not an epic amount.
Morning all. Had an amazing sleep.
Had a little rise in the water. Nothing special though. Out in these high bits that the water's
left. Just checking for nice little dry twigs. There's always some good stuff there.
Jet bottles a go for morning coffee. Brain juice as Tim would call it.
Fire's a go. The water is still receding so that's a good thing. I do love my hamacke
and my storm rings. So in order to get to the beach where the firewood is,
you need to go this way. There's all the firewood.
Smoked streaky bacon for breakfast. I've got some nice morning rolls.
It's windy. I do like bacon so I'll have to get my glove on.
So I've got to get the other half of the bench which I have here and take some chunks out of
here just to flatten it out. Stop the back end of the bench rocking. Yeah that's what I'm gonna
do right now. Keep myself busy. Just fell over there. Proper broke. That's the first bit done.
That's it eh? Solid too. So some after breakfast chocolate claws.
Eh? Come on let me have it then. Come on. Rain's on. Just spitting.
Lunch on. I've got some spinach and ricotta tortellini and some sea bass. Two fillets.
Rocking it out. I'll be ready in no time. Tomato and basil sauce to the pasta just to give it a
little bit more flavour. There we have it. Spinach and ricotta tortellini with a tomato and basil
sauce and sea bass. It's starting to get dark. That water path looks like it's been rising.
I'm well away from everything now. Bill saw a little a little dam today. Packed it in. Raised
it up. Used a lot of stone and wedged a lot of trees in. Just a lot of dead that was on the bank.
Packed it in. Just again try and stop it corroding. I think Tyson's done for.
It's raining on again. Not too heavy. Not too heavy. Morning all. Beautiful morning. It's crisp
and very very bright. Look at that. Tyson's waiting for his breakfast. Just getting me some shavings
of fatwood for my fire. Got to go in again. Lots of little bits of grass and twigs that were already
on there. And we're off. Oh beautiful morning. It's been an absolute brilliant camp. Nice and chilled.
Well guys I'm almost back home now. Big thanks for watching and we'll catch you all again soon.
