Some epic food and chill time by the river was a bit windy but mostly dry some good views of the river and I used my dd hammock and tarp with Tyson my dog was warm and comfortable big thanks for watching
It's going to be a bright moon tonight people. I'm in work for Chef White's.
I'll finish at 10 p.m then we're heading out to the first flood plain camp.
Meet Tim out there, or meet Tim at mine, and we're away for two nights.
Preparing to go. Tim's here. We're just in my landing. I've got the food bag in there.
Tim's getting his head torch. So we are still plodding on. Tyson's leading the way.
So I finished work like an hour ago. That was like 10 p.m. So we should get to camp by half 11 or
something, or 11. Nah, half 11. It's actually very warm too. I just took my Gore-Tex off just in my
jumper. So we're here at the first flood plain camp. As you can tell by the direction of the
ground, you can see where the current took over it. The water's receded a lot. It's gone back
into its beds and we're going to have a little look and see what wood we've left. Tim's over
there just taking his Gore-Tex pants off. It's brought in so much sand and and silt that it's
changed the entire layout of the land. Again, which isn't a good thing. Well, it isn't a bad thing,
sorry. But the interior of the wood, there doesn't look like to be much here. But we'll see what's
on the beaches. It's renewed all the wood. This wood is about nipple high to me
on this side. And it's just nipple high, Tim. Yep, and there's loads of it. Oh, have you found more?
Oh, what? What? I say, what? Oh, there's logs here too. Plenty.
Aye, the stuff we like. Look at this for epic combination. Pork pie and baby bell
sandwich. So that's my hammer cup. Tyson's underneath it for now.
Well, that's me and Tyson all tucked up now. See you all in the morning.
Nice morning again. Get some firewood, get our fire going.
First coffee of the morning on. Get some brain activity going because there is none at the
moment. Like, it's a beauty. I can't believe how warm it's been. We're going to suffer for that.
I know it. Been saying it all night, haven't I? We're going to suffer for this niceness.
Look at that sun just coming up over the brow. Pop down for a little wander on the other side
of the island. Like the side that gets submerged the most. Just see what there is. There's plenty
of wood. As in firewood. A lot of logs still there off the original last two benches that I cut it.
Be nice to find a slab of bench like. Tyson's just missioning around. Brought in a lot of silt.
It's opened this area up too, eh? Besides that.
So I've got breakfast started. It's going to be black pudding and I've got bacon.
Nice grill for a change, isn't it?
Considering we found it in the tree. It's like just hanging in the tree randomly.
I didn't bring that one like. Did you? No, we don't bring fancy grills.
It's a shiny grill. I'll even take it with us tonight.
I've even got cheese rolls. Toasted of course. I'm using the 3.5 by 3. Tim's using the 4 by 4.
Having rain on and off. Not bad, just little showers. It's all good. Our nice big fire is
burning. Nice and warm like. About to get some lunch on I think. Soon. Maybe go and get some more
firewood. So I've got smoky bacon and a chicken breast. Chicken pocket. Smoked Austrian cheese.
So we've got the chicken parcels on here. Just cooking slowly on the grill. Nice red hot coals
are burning my face from like two foot away. Potatoes. Got some vegetables in here. Nice
healthy lunch with lots of cheese and bacon. So we're just finishing off the chickens in the
ashes of the fire. Potatoes are almost done. Veg is almost done. Almost time to plate up.
Pan lid as a plate. Because I left my other plate at the village.
I've loaded myself. The wind's just pulled Tim's back of the tarp out. I think he's doing the same
now. We're just out back to more firewood. Just saying it's going to be a nice sunset.
Different colours in the sky. Little pork chops on the go. Tim's doing the pasta. What pasta is it
Tim? It's um tortellini. I don't know what's in it though. Spinach and ricotta I think. Oh right,
nice. Spinach and ricotta tortellini. Yeah. With tomato and basil sauce. Just draining the pasta.
I'm gonna add our sauce. And the pork chops are pretty much ready. Nice tea. Chocolate trifle.
Good morning everybody. That's the last of all my stuff packed in the bag.
Tim's pretty much the same. We're having an early get back because I've got work and Tim's got
stuff to do. Tyson over there mooching around still. The sun hasn't even come up yet and it
will shortly. Quite a good camp. Not far away from home now. Fairly plodded it. Well guys,
big thanks for watching and stay tuned for the next one. See you soon Tim.
