We know the importance of keeping you and your family safe from external forces like Burglars, families worst fear. The weakest part of your home is your windows, easy access for burglars to go through with no problem. So how do you defend yourself or better yet prevent any burglar from breaking into your home?
In this video we will breakdown the high security windows Anlin offers. The ultimate Burglar-Proof windows that would protect you and your family.
This is the only thing that is keeping intruders out.
It's just this single, single string piece of glass.
Hey guys, Sean with American Window Concepts here,
and today I'm going to show you some of the functions
about a window, the new replacement windows
that make it safer for the home,
harder for intruders to get in.
So I'm gonna show you some of these features now.
So when you're looking at this,
there is a section that starts here at the very tip,
and as you progress through, it gets a little wider.
And what that's doing is it's grabbing
this window keeper here, and it's pulling it tight.
That's why they call it a pull-tight cam lock.
And then also, you have this little guy here as an option.
It's called a sash bolt.
So on a patio door, you would have something like this
that goes into the header.
This is gonna go down into the track,
and I'll show you how we do that.
The other thing that's very, very nice
is the vent stop here that opens
and lets the window breathe by two and a half inches.
Somebody from the outside cannot get past this
because there's an anti-lift stop that's in the header here
that won't allow somebody from the outside
to try to get it to pop out of its track.
Pull that anti-lift stop, and you get the same thing.
Somebody from the outside can grab this window
and just pop right out of its track.
Most windows are going to have
this anti-lift stop in the top.
So that's gonna be one of the safety features.
The older windows, they're not gonna have that.
Those old aluminum windows,
most people can get right past those,
and they're in your house.
So you have these two pull-type cam locks.
You have the option to have a sash bolt
that goes down into the track.
This window is super secure.
Even without this, these two pull-type cam locks
pass the forced entry codes and with flying colors.
So this is gonna be crucial for you.
So the thing about this window system here,
this particular window system,
is that it's anti-jimmy proof.
You cannot jimmy this window from the outside.
There's some windows out there that you can still buy
that you can still jimmy those windows open
with those locks locked.
So what I'll show you is, turning this window around,
here's the outside.
This is what we're looking at from the outside.
If somebody comes in, take a putty knife,
and try to jimmy this window lock,
the interlock rail is not going to allow for this.
It's never gonna get close to the actual lock itself.
So you can't start low and try to pop the window lock
or anything like that.
So very, very nice feature for this window,
the integrated pull rails that you cannot jimmy.
It's anti-jimmy proof.
So that's gonna be part of keeping your family safe.
Okay guys, another thing that you can get
to upgrade your window to make it even safer
is going to be laminated glass.
And the laminated glass is going to be
on the interior pane.
And it's basically two pieces of glass
that has a film between it.
Something like your front windshield on your car
is gonna have that same thing.
So from the outside,
if you don't have a laminated glass package,
they can strike the outside, then strike the inside,
and ultimately make entry into the house.
With the laminated glass,
it's going to stop on the interior pane.
So they can hit it, hit it multiple times,
and that film is going to make it
so that way they can't get past it.
It's not that it's impossible to get past it,
it's just, it's gonna take a lot of work.
So that's something that you can get
for the window as well.
So if you feel necessary that you need to have
that kind of a grade of glass,
something that you can get on basically
any dual pane window.
Okay guys, well, hopefully that helps you guys
understand a little bit more
about the dynamic of a dual pane window,
the strength of it, the durability,
and the ability to keep you safe from burglars,
things of that nature.
