It's an Arabic. It's me, right? And on the top, it's al-qadeem So bite al-qadeem. This is the restaurant name. I'll bait. Uh-huh. So bait means home house and Kadeem means all this So the oldest house all this house and it's literally the oldest restaurant. This is the oldest restaurant. You said this opened in 1937 32 32 Doesn't matter which one you can yeah, you can put it in your plate or however, you would like this bread is so hot They just freshly baked us. Yes Everything cooked fresh. So this hummus it's made up of chickpeas and White sesame seed Oh white sesame seed. Yes with olive oil So the taste is very very interesting You will love it. I'm sure and that's mutabal. Mutabal is have tahina sauce along with brinjal be Charcoal did we remove the skin? So it's have barbecue taste we peeled off and mix with it You might eat in Nutella bread a lot but try some hummus with bread today this bread is amazing Yeah, this freshly cooked bread is called the sabus. The mutabal is great Mmm, you taste the sesame in there a little pop from the pomegranate. This bread is so good It's just so airy, but this goes so well with with everything here. The hummus is amazing, too I mean, I'm so happy with this already. This is so good. This bread not only is it chewy, it's airy But it's got that such nice crunchy texture on the outside, too Watermelon cucumber water. Wow. Oh, this is delicious I mean, it's slightly sweet, but you know when you drink soda or something, it's got the nasty sticky Nothing here. Super refreshing. The sweetness comes because of watermelon. Mm-hmm, and there's a rose water The rose is so nice. This is so good everything. Is this what people commonly eat every day? Yeah, actually we eat a lot. That's good. Our appetite is big. So the portion of meals which we eat is massive This was all Dubai This is the only part remaining? Yes. Okay, so everything was inside this wall Everyone can come in to go out from the same gate. There was only one gate These rocks from the sea mix it with mud. We hold it together. It shows everything in it. Yeah So this whole area used to be all the residential houses and now it's turned into museums I mean, I highly recommend anybody come to Dubai to just to come here and take a look It's so interesting, especially the feeling you get just walking through these corridors This is a nice tea house like you walked into a palace. But with the date, it's so good Hmm Sally was telling me so when people come into this common room, right? the coffee and date is the Traditional beverage and snack that you're given if they pour half a cup of coffee for you They like you want you to stay they pour a whole cup. You need to leave There you go keep in mind So this area we're walking around this is all souks and markets It's everything from textiles to perfume to teas and the next stop we're making we're gonna have some tea You're gonna learn today how to check the saffron if it's real or fake this is important. Camel milk white chocolate Wow It's normal correcty we call this correct this black tea milk with sugar cooked together and now Saffron is going in it saffron Masala tea. Mm-hmm. It's made with saffron, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger Nice delicious Well, this is definitely the most great way I've ever had Wow It tastes like your taste buds strolling around a spice market in the best way possible All right, first time I ever had saffron before you know, what is this? That one is In the hot charcoal is a little bit strong so when I put in charcoal you can steam slowly, okay Wow Oh my god, oh That is refreshing. Oh That made me cry. I heard you say keep your eyes closed and I just totally ignore that whole thing So that was a nice blast We just used the water taxi To cross over it only cost one Durham. So about 30 40 cents Next stop is a sandwich shop. We got a falafel sandwich With Oman chips and Oman chips is basically something that everyone grew up with here So here we got a fresh falafel wrap with Oman chips inside This place here kind of resembles a Subway sandwich shop all the ingredients lay down in front of you But here everything is fresh bread is fresh falafels freshly made veggies Of course and the Oman chips inside brings a different texture a nice crunch a different crunch from the veggies And also a little spicy flavor falafels are amazing here Chase it with some chilies. How are you just staying all day long? And I also brought up brought out some falafel just to eat as is Well, I don't eat falafel a lot, but that thing ultra crunchy on the outside soft is so flavorful inside Whether on a sandwich you're just, you know eating it on a plate as is can't go wrong with this thing. This is samosa so two dipping sauces Delicious dipping sauces one side is mint one side is hot when I tell you hot This thing is hotter than the temperature today. By the way, it's really really hot today Hmm soft flavorful potatoes piece little herbs crispy pocket combine it with this sauce I would not recommend eating this on a super hot day. Like you're gonna burn up That's delicious. Ali was telling me there's over 200 nationalities here in Dubai. So there's all sorts of food So this morning we try Arabic food now, we're trying Indian food. I can see why we're going for yogurt after this Whoo, that's on fire Making a quick stop for Lassi. Like I said, wow, my tongue is still on fire after the sauce I just had this is a dry fruit Lassi Mmm all sorts of nuts and dry fruits in here some cashews raisins. This is so good. I Also got a strawberry one This is really good too. I think personally I prefer the dry fruit just for a little textural change The Lassi definitely different from anything I've had in the stage. It's so freaking good Hmm in the area we're in now, it's called a Mina Bazaar. So again tons of shops restaurants I mean, I love the glitzy part of Dubai traditional parts. That's why I love the most next food item. We're trying pani puri Check a pani puri whole thing in your mouth That's how you get the best of everything minty refreshing crispy smooth and Delicious, I love those things and then Put the bowl back He fills it up and do it all over again Well, that one was sweet and savory Ali just left and we asked him where we should go for food that we can only find in Dubai He said camel burger. So that's why we're here for a camel burger Never had this before. Oh my goodness. This is a ginormous burger giant patty egg onions tomatoes lettuce sesame bun I Think everybody this is restaurant. It's here to just try a camel burger first glance. It kind of looks like a beef patty My first taste of camel I see this thing has this up and downs the patty itself It tastes like a kebab like a minced meat kebab. So the meat is very soft very Loosely held together and even after eating this I can't really tell you what camel meat tastes like because this thing is very spiced up There's a lot a lot of spices in here So I can't really taste the flavor of the meat itself texture wise also I'm, not really sure because it just tastes like a kebab. So overall the the meat is not chewy It's really just almost just like a taste like a meat paste squished into the form of a burger but flavor-wise I really taste this cumin. I kind of wish I tried a camel steak Because the burger really not something I will highly recommend One final place for lunch all Wustad Special kebabs. I heard good things about this place. Walk in This is served at the table. Plate full of dates So this place is known for their kebabs and this is what comes in an individual order Some chicken cooked in yogurt and then barbecued And they give you a lot of bread. Some onions tomatoes, cucumbers, throw in some greens Little bit of yogurt, rest of the chicken, throw a couple of fries in there. Why not? Wrap it up Chicken is delicious. First of all, it's juicy. That's the most important thing to me. Great char on the outside Oh my goodness The flavor the yogurt gives it a little sweet a little sour that combined with a slight bitterness from the char And the supreme tenderness of the meat. Oh, it's so good. I think this is Yeah, this is much a good amount of spices a tiny bit gamey But delicious look at this this is a tenderloin this is also marinating yogurt and barbecued Oh, that's my favorite. Oh, yeah, the flavor of the yogurt is so incredibly prevalent in the tenderloin Sour and tart. The beef flavor is amazing. There's tons of fat in here So every bite is gonna be juicy you can eat it on its own or just more wrap it up in bread Also, I love about this every single one of the kebabs you taste a fire You taste a flame you taste a smoke that is unbelievably good, especially like the fattier pieces That just wraps up Amazing local food day here in Old Dubai. And like I said, I love going to different cities around the world Exploring the traditional part the oldest part of it It's always my favorite thing to do and today going on with that league exploring the markets were souk culture Just walking around the streets smelling the fragrance of the different herbs and spices the incense getting to eat out one of the oldest Restaurants in the area. This is definitely an area that if you're ever in Dubai, you have to take a day I set aside and it's truly explore it. We have dinner reservations in a couple hours, but definitely coming back here I'm gonna pick up some spices and this is just a small glimpse of the different cultures that inhabits this amazing city There's still so much to explore as always guys.
