Hi, welcome back to my channel. My name is Lynn Alvarez, a realtor with the
Ally Group of EXP Realty in Charlotte, North Carolina.
I create YouTube videos about Charlotte real estate,
lifestyles, and neighborhoods. And if this is your first time here
on our channel, please leave a comment, subscribe,
and hit that bell button below so that you'll be notified every time we have a
new video that we post every Friday. In this video, we're going to look at
areas outside of Charlotte, North Carolina
that you might consider moving to. These three cities or towns
are in Mecklenburg County. And by the way, Charlotte is in Mecklenburg County.
One of the best places you should consider when moving to the Charlotte
area is Huntersville, North Carolina. I might sound biased. Why?
Because we used to live here for 17 years before moving down to Charlotte.
I know this town very well. When we first arrived in Huntersville from California
many years ago, we saw firsthand the friendliness of the
people whether you are in a grocery store or
just driving through your neighborhood. We love this town which has a population
according to the 2019 Bureau of Census. Huntersville is the largest town
adjoining Lake Norman with 41.3 square miles.
If you love dining, Huntersville offers a wide variety
of food from fast food chains to franchise and family-owned restaurants.
You can find more selections at Birkville Village,
an outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment hotspot.
Another place to shop is North Cross Shopping Center where the big boxes are
such as Lowe's, Home Depot is just nearby,
Target, Kohl's, Rack Room, Harris Theater Supermarket,
Home Goods, Marshall's, and many other boutique shops.
Are you thinking of buying a boat or have a boat now but you don't have a
boat slip? No worries. Blythe Landing in Huntersville
is the place to launch your boat for a minimal fee.
It's located on Highway 73 just west of Birkville Village.
You can also bring your family there for a picnic or just to play sand volleyball.
Huntersville is approximately 13 miles north of down Charlotte
and one of the cities in Mecklenburg County next to Cornelius and Davidson.
The homes for sale in Huntersville are not staying long on the market.
As of the end of August 2020, the highest price that sold in Huntersville
was $1,570,000.
Average price was $397,547
and the median price was $375,000.
If you're looking for active homes for sale in Huntersville, North Carolina,
please see the link below. Currently, there are many homes for sale in the low
200s with three bedrooms and two and a half
baths, as well as homes in different price points.
The second town I'll be talking about is Cornelius. It's a neighboring town of
Huntersville and on the east side of Lake Norman.
According to the latest info from the Bureau of Census,
it has a population of 30,257 with 13.1 square miles in size,
so less than a third of Huntersville's size.
Cornelius has many waterfront communities and one of those is the
peninsula with an amazing 18-hole championship
golf course and beautiful homes. Homes at the
peninsula starts from the high 500s to over $5 million.
You will enjoy many events in Cornelius such as the annual Dragon Boat Festival
held at Ramsey Creek Park, where you'll also enjoy the Lake Norman Beach.
There's no shortage of restaurants in Cornelius,
especially if you want to dine and drink with a Lake Norman view.
I recommend visiting the Port City Club and Hello Sailor
to enjoy the beautiful sunset. The homes for sale in Cornelius
are selling fast. Here's the stats for the month of August 2020.
The highest price was $2,575,000.
Median price was $422,500 and the average price was $606,400.
Cornelius real estate is on the upward trend so if you're looking to buy,
please contact me today. The third town I will be talking about is also in
Mecklenburg County and a part of Lake Norman, the town of
which is about a 25-minute drive from uptown Charlotte.
This small town of only 13,000 people is very popular because of Davidson College.
The 2020 annual ranking by U.S. News & World Report
rates Davidson College as tied for the 17th best
among national liberal arts colleges in America
and second in best undergraduate teaching.
Davidson College is a selective prestigious liberal arts college
in Davidson, North Carolina and is called the Ivy League of the South
and also excels at athletics. Downtown Davidson and Main Street is a
quaint area where people can enjoy walking on the street
and hopping from famous local eateries to shopping at local boutique stores of
galleries, arts and crafts. For restaurants, I
recommend going to Kindred, the Egg Cafe and the North Harbor
Club's waterfront patio. Unlike Cornelius, Davidson waterfront
communities are mostly condominiums and townhouses
close to Interstate 77 on Exit 30. Residents of Davidson are proud to be
known as the wealthiest city in the state of North Carolina
as well as the best educated in the whole state of North Carolina.
This is according to USA Today's May 30, 2018 edition.
Over a quarter of Davidson's residents are in households earning over
$200,000 and 69% of residents have a bachelor's degree or higher.
When it comes to the housing market, Davidson homes for sale
information as of August 2020 is as follows.
The highest price was $1,950,000.
Median price was $500,500 and average price was $631,669.
