All right, one last dummy check.
I say dummy check because I'm really stupid and I leave stuff all the time.
I think that's it. Let's go to Japan.
Halfway decent fried rice. Definitely funner than the omelet station, right? This obsession with smoked salmon.
Every time I see it, I just gotta have it.
That's really not a bad combo.
Wash it down with some sparkling pineapple juice.
I haven't seen this cereal. I mean, I'm sure it gets everywhere in grocery stores, but at least it's right around in the lounges and
you never see the cereal. This is my favorite cereal growing up. Golden Grahams.
This reminds me of like when I just came to the US
and I just got used to cereal because you know being lactose intolerant and all and I fell in love with the cereal.
Especially when it's been soaking in milk for a while. It just still retains a little chew and the milk becomes all cinnamony.
I'm gonna eat like four boxes of this.
I went to the wrong terminal. So I thought I was flying JAL, but it's JAL operated by American Airlines.
So first time flying American Airlines to Asia. Hope the food's good. I'll let you know.
Storage. Socks.
Most important reading material on the flight. I was wrong. It's just the one list.
Screen. Good amount of leg space. Slippers. A little storage.
More storage.
So far so good. All right, western menu. Five spice braised beef shank. Beef sukiyaki. Grilled salmon yuzu.
The snack looks good. Show the shiitake soba noodles.
Light meals. Beef.
Nikujaga.
Snacks and light meals look good.
Never get tired of the aesthetics of a Japanese meal on a flight. It's like opening up a gift.
I'm sure this is going to be the first time of many I'm about to be saying itadakimasu.
There's abalone. One of my favorite things.
Tuna.
Toro.
The fattier the better for me.
You really do get a little sweet.
A little chewy. Crunchy. Shower.
And second meal is served. Shiitake mushrooms with soba noodles.
Looks and smells great.
Very sesame.
Shiitake's got a nice mouthfeel. Good flavor.
Good texture on the noodles with a little crunch from the sesame.
And it's really cool because I just took a nap. Well, correction. I fell asleep watching this movie.
Woke up feeling a little hungry and this was served right in front of me.
Found a little piece of plastic in my noodles.
I was like, huh, I've never seen a blue sesame before.
And the great thing about
flying to Japan
from the west coast. I'll be there in like six hours.
So quick.
That is some tough beef. I mean the potatoes are good, but that beef can rob Chuck Norris in a dark alley.
I guess it's great, you know?
Give my jaw a nice workout before I get to Japan.
When I checked in from LAX, they said my bags were going to go to Sapporo directly.
It also says that on the claim ticket, but they just told me my bags are actually gonna be here at Haneda.
So I gotta go pick it up, recheck in. I have one hour to do all this.
Waiting for my luggage
and the bags are coming up literally
one at a time.
She's not moving. As of right now, I think I'm gonna miss my flight. Finally got my luggage. This took 30 minutes to get here.
So long line at customs.
So we tried to check the luggage in at the international terminal. It didn't say too late.
I had to go directly to the domestic terminal to try to check in the luggage.
Right now it's about 30 minutes before my flight leaves.
All right, it looks like I'm actually gonna make it
about 10
5 minutes before my flight takes off.
My favorite cookie in the world. It's from Hokkaido.
All right, the thing is, like I mentioned in the last video, this was really difficult to arrange
to get from this airport to Niseko because
right now it's 6 p.m. and basically
buses are all done by 6 p.m.
Anyway, like I was saying, this is something good to know if you guys are ever planning on going skiing in Japan, which
like I said, it's been on the top of my bucket list for so long. So 6 p.m.
No more buses from here. If you want a private car, it's gonna be super expensive.
And also you have to book that seven days ahead of time.
Buses are sold out during the busy periods about seven to nine days in advance.
So if you're gonna come here, you really have to book this thing, like everything, airfare,
the transportation. You're gonna have to do it at least a week, if not a week and a half ahead of time.
I had no idea it was gonna be this difficult to actually get a transport from the airport
to the ski area. And trust me, it is very difficult. 6 p.m. may not seem like that late, but
no way to get there. Only way is the train. By the time I get there, they told me that there's no taxis available.
I'd be stuck if it wasn't for the fact that my friends rented a car.
So they're gonna come to the station and pick me up.
If it wasn't for that, I would have to wait till tomorrow morning and take either the train in or
take a bus. So things to keep in mind if you ever want to go skiing, plan ahead. Really plan ahead.
Anyway, my first meal in Japan.
Hokkaido.
This region is famous for king crab and seafood. That's all I want to eat here. And those cookies. And apparently rice chocolate.
Oh god. Oh wow, I'm just in the middle of nowhere. There are taxis here. What up dude?
Good to see you, man. Thanks for coming.
What's up? What's up?
We meet in Japan.
That's right.
Yo, Mel just like, you just like freaking rocked it as soon as you got here. Like I'm driving on the other side.
Didn't even phase you.
You guys remember Melissa and Ale, right? They're in the Thailand. You guys were in the Thailand video.
Thailand and Israel.
We're going to 7-Eleven. That must be the first food we always eat when we come to this country.
The orange green and red. The beacon of hope and all that is delicious in this country. We're like middle of
literal nowhere.
But who needs anything else when you have this?
Oh, I missed you. All sorts of miscellaneous random foods. Everything is good
at a 7-Eleven in Japan. There's no fatty beef. That's sad. Whoa, here we go. This. Oh, yeah.
This is the best right here. This is all you need in life.
This is it. You have given up hope.
This is all you need. Have you guys tried this? This is the greatest thing. It's so good. You never tried this?
Get it. That is amazing.
Oh, no, somebody took all that Michelin ramen.
This is the other Michelin ramen that I love but kind of wanted this one. Ah, no more egg sandwiches. Oh wait.
Oh, it's kind of like half egg half ham. I'll settle for this one. Tuna salad, egg and ham.
Wow, that looks
it's a lot of crap.
I don't know, man.
You gotta have some of this egg. Normally in any country like canned meat would be gross, but I bet you this is amazing.
Oh my, I felt like forever trekking my way over here, but now that I'm here
I'm so happy.
So happy to be back.
All right, time for some 7-Eleven feasting at midnight. Got some kimchi.
Ali's got some Italian Japanese noodles.
Got onigiri. What is that? Some chips. This is dessert. Chocolate covered chips.
And then I also already ate these chips, which are my favorite. I've had these.
You should have tried one.
I ate them all. Sorry. And we got
the ramen that we can't cook because there's no hot water. My favorite rice place from 7-Eleven is this stuff.
My love. I never want to leave you again.
Hello 7-Eleven egg sandwich. Reunited and it feels so good.
All right, I'm just gonna eat now.
I'll see you tomorrow on the slopes. Skiing Japan, bucket list, bucket list, bucket list.
These are like my best friends right now in the world.
I don't have many friends.
Yo, check out their travel thing. They have like 20 billion travel.
What are you talking about? You don't need to give us a shout out. Freaking ruining my freaking clothing.
Yeah, they travel around. Pictures are awesome. Check it out.
