2023 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X Review, Walk Around and Test Drive

What is up? Welcome to another video my friends. Beautiful fall day here and behind me is the 2023 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X. We're going to go through the ins and outs to help you determine if this is the truck for you. So with an MSRP of $50,633 the Frontier saw a quick redesign for 2022. So for 2023 it's relatively unchanged. This specific package comes in the gun metallic exterior color and it has the Pro-4X luxury package. So this is the top package that you can get on the Frontier. Now let's look at the design of the front end here with this. For a $50,000 truck there's lots to love here. Okay quarter ton truck you have our Frontier stamping right on the front grille. With this Pro-4X package you get these orange accents all throughout the vehicle. Orange Nissan emblem. There is a camera in the Nissan emblem as well. That's for your 360 around view monitor which we're going to show you when we jump inside. And then the tow hooks are orange as well. So you have the orange all throughout. So all your Nissan fans who are fans of the Pro-4X packages know that with the Pro-4X models you get the upgraded Bilstein shock absorbers. You also have the underbelly skid plates as well. And this Pro-4X is sitting on these kind of uniquely designed Pro-4X 17-inch aluminum alloy rims. Again more orange accents throughout. And then you get these off-road tires. Perfect if you're camping you're in an area like this at a park or you're towing pulling it out of boat ramps. We look at the side profile. This one is in the crew cab configuration. So you have the four doors and you have the rear privacy glass as well. And then our Pro-4X badging on the back. When we check out the rear of the Pro-4X here. I love what they've done here when they redesigned it. With a lower tailgate step here where the license plate is. We have our tow hitch equipped and our wiring. The front here can tow up to 6,200 pounds. Backup camera as well. And it is a dampening tailgate. Speaking of the bed. Let's check out this here. This one comes with you have the spray-on factory bed liner right from the factory. Nissan utility track. It comes with four tie-down hooks that you can put anywhere on this utility track. And that will help you keep your items secured while you're hauling them. And you can attach things like tunnel covers, bed extenders, all from the Nissan accessory store. Or you could go aftermarket. There also is 120 power volt in the back. So you can charge your tools if you're on the job site. Tailgating, charge a cooler, things like that. We have cargo bed lighting all throughout as well. Talking about the power plan under the hood of the Pro-4X. In 2022, they did change it a little bit. It comes with a 3.8 V6 engine, 310 horsepower and 281 pounds feet of torque. You're going to get about 13.7 liters for every 100 kilometers in the city or 10.6 on the highway. Has about a 1,200 pound payload. And then it's attached to the nine speed automatic transmission, which we're going to try out when we take it for a drive. All right, we got this thing on the road and I love this nine speed automatic transmission. I just love how it accelerates. I love the power that you get out of these Frontiers. Before I was all Titan, Titan, Titan. Now I just love these Frontiers way better. It's just a phenomenal drive. You do sit higher up. You get the modern technology that you're looking for these days. This vehicle has things like blind spot monitor, lane departure warning. You have the forward emergency brake as well. With the backup camera, you get the moving object detection. So there's a ton of safety features that just make for a better ride and puts this car kind of in the modern age. The Frontier was one of those cars from Nissan where if it wasn't broke, they weren't fixing it. So they didn't really change it up. But now these changes are super fun. So you can use the remote starter to start it up. Great for the wintertime and it has a range of about 400 meters. Let's jump inside and check out the interior. Now I'd like to see some step rails to make it easier to get in and out. Young guy like me, it's nice and easy, but I think Nissan's hoping you would just buy those as an accessory. Now with this luxury package, you get this Pro 4X full leather seat. It's nice stitched on the center console. The premium door trim. You get the fender upgraded sound system and you get the auto dimming rear view mirror. So a lot of value with the leather package. But let's check out what's going on on our business end. Full leather wrap steering wheel here. Cruise control. We have our intelligent cruise control so it will keep you a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. The steering wheel is heated and the front seats are heated. It's not power adjustable, but you would have to adjust it manually. And then you have that red stitching throughout. Electronic locking rear diff is in the back. Power window controls here. And then we have our 4x4 knob right down below. Super large 9-inch touchscreen. It's going to do things like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay. You have a backup camera. You have GPS as well. So nice Nissan Connect navigation system. And you have that around view monitor that I mentioned. And it really makes things easy, especially in a truck like this. If you're backing up to a trailer or things like that. Makes it nice and easy to connect to your trailer. Dual temperature control is down below. So you can have one side hot, one side cold. And then we have two USBs to charge your phone. There also is a Qi charger right in the center stack. If you just want to charge your phone up there, you can pop your phone down there and you can charge your phone wirelessly. And then quite a deep little center storage unit there that you can throw your items in. And then you also get the power sunroof as well. So that just opens up. Just a little guy, but pretty much everything you need in a small truck like this. So this is maybe why you'd go up to something like the Titan if you have a large family. But you still have quite a bit of comfort back here. You know, two small kids, two car seats. You shouldn't have a problem. You do have center armrest and cup holders. You have a power outlet here to charge devices and a USB and a USB-C. Now check this out. These seats can go up. There's a little bit of space below or they can fold down for you have your car seat anchors as well. And let's check out that horsepower here. 3.8 V6. It really takes off. And when you step on it, it goes. There is quite a bit of cabin noise. That's kind of one thing that I would, I would hope for to be better. But other than that, like you can't go wrong with the drive of these things. For a midsize truck, there isn't too many blind spots looking out the rear and in your mirrors. And there is quite a bit of cabin space up here. Like I don't feel close to the passenger. There's a lot of storage up here and there's a lot of little cubbies to put all your stuff. So overall, if you're looking for a midsize truck, like this one's going to all comparing the Tacoma to the Frontier. So we'll link that in the description below and you guys can check that out.
