New chapter and this time I'm going to Jordan.
I'm leaving the island of Cyprus now, I'm going to take the flight here, the Ryanair.
So, a very short flight, one hour or something like that.
And I land in the international airport of Amman.
Here in Jordan, I have already landed in Amman.
And it has been a super short flight from Cyprus, which is practically next door.
And nothing, it has been very quiet, except the end, when it has started to turn around to land.
Damn, the plane has moved more.
It looked like that to me, the maracas of Machin.
But hey, we're already here, so nothing, I'm going to pass the control.
You need a visa, which can be obtained at the airport itself.
But I have taken one called Jordan Pass, which gives you the visa.
You take it in advance, you save the queue when you arrive here in migration.
And on top of that, it gives you access to most tourist places,
such as Petra.
It is a little more expensive, but it is very affordable.
And nothing, I have a car rented for these days.
From what I have read, it is quite safe and easy to drive through Jordan.
So nothing, I'm going to see if I get to the immigration part.
And I'll show you the whole part of the car.
Okay, I have everything ready.
I'm here at the airport exit in Amman.
I have rented this car, which is a Chevrolet that I have rented with the company Sixt.
And nothing, I'm ready.
I have also bought a tourist card for these days.
It is not cheap, it is not a cheap country in general, Jordan.
I think the card has cost me almost 15 euros.
But if it has 12 GB, well, it is unlimited.
I'm not going to fall far.
But hey, it is a little expensive.
And nothing, my main idea was to go to Amman, to the capital.
Eat something there, visit the area and then in the afternoon go to Petra,
which is where I spend the night today.
But as Muslims are scattered and everything is surely closed,
I will have it complicated to eat and such.
It seems incredible to me that I am driving through Jordan.
I mean, it's been a while since I've been so happy, so nervous to visit a country.
I really wanted to come here to Jordan.
And I'm going to Petra.
What I'm realizing here is that all the traffic signs,
the traffic rules in general, are guided.
I mean, if you feel like it, you have them in mind and if not, well, nothing happens either.
I don't know what the hell is going on here.
But we're all standing here, you can't pass.
Let's see, let's see.
Oh, they're coming from there too, they're coming from the front, what the hell.
There are trucks that get into the field again.
I love that people honk as if we could do something.
I mean, they honk at me from behind as if I couldn't move away or something.
If there is no space, well, this one is going to try it on the right.
Come on, come on.
Madness.
What madness is this, man?
I've already passed the whole area in the traffic jam.
The problem is that there has been an accident.
It was full of police, all full of trucks, all full of parked cars and people.
Well, it turns out that a pick-up truck was involved in the accident
and a truck that was full of watermelons and a normal car.
The point is that the whole floor was full of watermelons,
the whole floor was red from the watermelons themselves
and they were destroyed against the ground.
But the hardest thing has been that the car, the tourism car, was in pieces.
I mean, the whole front end was stuck inside.
The seat was totally stuck against the steering wheel
and the only thing you could see were the remains of the driver.
It was a very hard image.
Obviously, I haven't recorded it.
It has been very hard.
I'm already in Petra and I've arrived at the hotel.
It's called Le Maison and it's five minutes away from the entrance to Petra.
I mean, I'm a little dizzy.
Better.
So, my plan is...
Now it's...
It's five to four.
My plan today is at eight and a half.
There's the night show in Petra.
I don't know if you know it, but if you don't, I'll show it to you later.
But it's going to be something really nice.
So, it's eight and a half.
By the way, this is the room.
As you can see, it's very good.
It has two beds.
I have one left, but it's fine.
And here's the bathroom.
So, it's pretty good.
And I was especially interested because it's five minutes away from the entrance to Petra.
That's what I'm most interested in.
So, it's eight and a half.
I have some time.
I'll try to find...
I'm going to rest for five minutes and I'm going to look for something to eat in the area.
But it's going to be very complicated because of what I've told you.
It's Ramadan for Muslims.
And since they can't eat until the sun rises, until they hide and don't eat or drink,
most restaurants are usually closed.
So, the hotel told me that it's possible that there are two or three places that are open in the area.
So, I'm going to look to see what I find because I'm starving.
I haven't eaten anything since breakfast.
And since seven or eight in the morning.
And it's five o'clock.
So, nothing.
I found a place here called My Mom's Recipe.
It's right next to the hotel.
And it's open.
So, nothing.
It's very good in TripAdvisor.
And there's no one now.
I'm alone here in this room.
The view is very good because everything is very well decorated.
Very cool.
It reminds me of when I was in Cappadocia, in Turkey.
And nothing.
At the moment, I've ordered a hummus here.
Hummus with pita bread.
And then here it has like oil and some spices.
And now I'm also waiting for the main dish.
They will bring it to me, which is lamb.
But the truth is that I'm going to enjoy it.
At the moment, I feel like I'm in a dream.
Here in Petra, eating so comfortably.
I don't know.
I don't know if you can see something, but this is amazing.
I haven't been able to talk much throughout the trip.
Well, all the way, because everything was in silence.
Maintaining the atmosphere a bit.
And then we sat here, like on those carpets that were here on the floor.
You can see them here.
And, of course, you could barely see what this treasure of Petra is.
Because it wasn't lit.
But then they started to play songs and stuff.
And now, in the end, they've put some colored spotlights.
It's changing, it's lighting up the facade.
And it's amazing.
I mean, the atmosphere that has been created is incredible.
The truth is that it's a dream to be able to be here.
And, I don't know, you see it.
It was in Indiana Jones, and you've seen it in thousands of photos, in thousands of places.
And being able to be here, seeing it in person, is something impressive.
I can't wait to arrive tomorrow morning to see it in daylight and see it even better.
But being here right now is incredible.
