Humpday Getaway Snowboarding / Mountain Top Lunch / Firebox TI Nano Ultralight Stove.

Hey Steve here. So for today's hump day getaway we came snowboarding. So Kai and I are hitting the slopes today and hopefully we'll find a spot here in the trees somewhere where we can cook our lunch up on the titanium nano. And I'm going to be using a new pot that we're going to be creating a kit out of which is the Toks titanium pot which is just the right size to make a really nice kit. Kai's trying to come down this powder chute. This is a pretty nice snow right here in the middle. It hasn't been groomed and there is at least some powder going on here. Nice. Sitting down on the job. So I think I'm gonna hike that trail. There's a foot trail going up to the top of that bowl and you come down the bowl here. Looks pretty fun. Give it a try. Hopefully I won't kill myself on the hike. Okay so I'm about halfway up this hike. Here's my snowboard all stuck into the hill and then there's the trail going up. But here's the other direction down the hill. Yeah I used to be able to see a snow maker down there at the bottom but now I can't even see that. This fog is just really rolling in. Anyway let's get to the top of it and we'll ride some of this fresh powder here that only the people who are willing to hike get to ride. So it should be fun. Hey Kai. Oh he can't hear me. His music's going. Pretty good hike huh? Oh this snow is really deep. Okay so we decided to fix our lunch up here. We're basically on the top of the mountain. Okay so what I'm gonna do is I've got the alcohol stove, the ever new titanium alcohol stove, and the titanium nano. And I'm gonna set up a spot kind of down below the level of the snow. Okay so this is the Toks titanium cook set that we're going to be offering. I actually put this in a bag because it has the alcohol stove in it and we're going to be eating out of that and I wouldn't be able to rinse it out. So I just put this stuff in a plastic bag. Nice. My plastic spoons are still okay. I couldn't find my titanium spork. We bought some plastic spoons. Okay let me open up this ti nano. See if I can do this with one hand. Talk about easy assembly huh? So I got way more than two cups. We'll make some hot chocolate. All right let me go ahead and light the alcohol stove. Okay that's going. So there's our setup. Kind of tucked down in. Seems to be working well. Okay our water's almost boiling. Let's just check it here. Yeah I mean the water the bubbles are rising but it's not boiling from the center quite yet. We're getting close. So we're going to be having lasagna with meat sauce and we're going to be eating them out of these squishy bowls. So it's the Guyatt Designs Bowl Set. We have these on our website too but they're awesome because they insulate from the heat. So there's our water and I'm also going to use these. I'm also going to use these smaller cup size. The bowl sets come with two bowls. A small and a large and the small one looks like it's just over a cup. So I'm going to use these to measure. See you can see I can pick that boiling water up with this silicone. Just gives enough insulation that it makes it so you can handle stuff. So there's one cup and let's go ahead and do another. Yeah I hope this is enough to feed both of us. It looks like quite a bit. Otherwise you're going to be hungry today. Just kidding. I'm going to add some snow into this water since we're going to want some hot chocolate and I've still got alcohol to burn up. So the fog has lifted a little bit. You can kind of see the mountains a little bit better around us. Pretty nice place to be. All right dinner is served. Still nice and hot and it's actually really pretty good. Lasagna with meat sauce. Okay I'm gonna pour up this hot water before it gets any hot. Oh it's boiling. So I was gonna do it before it boiled so it wouldn't be quite as hot so we wouldn't have to wait to drink it but that's all right. A little hot chocolate. Give us some sugar calories for energy. Well that must be enough because I pretty much dumped all the hot chocolate in there. So it might be really rich. There you go fine fellow. Some hot chocolate for you. Yeah I think it probably is pretty hot. Yeah nice cup of hot chocolate up on the top of the mountain. Yeah it's pretty hot. It's good though. It's nice and rich. Sugar rush on hot chocolate. Okay there's only one way down from here. Well I didn't lose my camera. See how Kai does coming down this. There he goes. I can't see him because the sun's right in my eyes. That looks like it was pretty successful. I don't know if I caught it on video or not because I can't see the screen at all. Yeah I think Kai's gonna have fun on this powder. This is what it's all about. That's pretty fun huh? Yeah when I don't fall over. You did. You only fell once. Yeah I know. The rest of this is easier too. Let's see if I can get up. That was fun. Yeah he's doing great. Well he's going in the bushes. Nah he's all right. Okay well thanks everybody for watching and we're gonna call it a day and head on home.
