It's 9.03 p.m. and it's way past my bedtime today.
I wanted to go to bed today at 6 p.m.
Now, normally, that sounds pretty lame because who wants to go to bed at 6 p.m.?
But I am really, really excited.
So excited, I don't even know if I can sleep tonight.
And that is because tomorrow, I am going to Japan, finally.
I've been wanting to go to Japan ever since I was a little kid.
Now, the reason I'm looking forward to going to Japan now is different than what it was back when I was a kid.
When I was a kid, I wanted to go to Japan to be a ninja.
But now, it's 9 o'clock and my flight leaves at 6.
And I'm about an hour away from the airport, so I gotta go to bed.
It's 1.47 p.m. and I think I got maybe two hours of sleep.
Got some fruit because I wanted to start off this trip eating sort of healthy
because it's just gonna go downhill from here.
Japan has been on the top of my travel bucket list and food bucket list for as long as I can remember.
And not only am I spending about two weeks over there,
I'm spending Christmas, New Year's, and my birthday over there.
So you know some good eating is gonna happen.
Also on this trip, I am flying business class.
I'm gonna be flying business class on Air Canada to Vancouver
where I'm gonna have like a ridiculously long layover, six hours.
And then from there, I'm gonna take all Nippon Airways to Tokyo.
So on this trip, I'm gonna show you guys what Air Canada business class looks like,
also the all Nippon business class, and of course, all the food.
So yeah, I'm really excited.
But let me get back to what is probably the healthiest meal I'll eat on this trip.
Hi.
My friend.
Hi.
How are you?
Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you, too.
Oh, that's nice.
Nice to meet you.
I'll take some water, please. Thank you.
Thank you.
Oh, thank you.
That's what I'm talking about.
This actually looks really good.
Parsley omelette, chicken sausage, cottage cheese, potatoes, relish.
We've got a healthy option here, but I just had something healthy, so I'm good.
This is the parsley omelette, potatoes, chicken sausage.
This is actually really good.
The omelette looked a little microwaved, but it's got a nice flavor.
I'm in Vancouver, and I wish I could stay longer.
Like I mentioned, this is one of my all-time favorite cities in the world.
Not only is the food awesome, it rains all the time, which I love.
You got great skiing, the people are nice, and this whole city is like just a ginormous Chinatown.
I don't know why, but all of a sudden, I felt the need to acquire a Vancouver shirt.
So I'm going to be at this airport for the next six hours.
I'm going to find—
Hi.
Nice to see you.
Thank you, thank you.
Gotta go find a place to take a nap.
This might be a good option.
Hello.
How's it going?
Great, thank you.
Let's check this place out.
And by that, I mean, what do they have to eat?
Back to eating junk.
But this is all they had, and I felt that this drink was pretty appropriate.
Finally, lunchtime.
We got some vegetable stir-fry, meat ravioli, mushroom ravioli, and some chicken noodle soup.
This is plate one, relatively tame.
And then we got plate two.
This thing is overflowing.
That thing, it's really dense, and it has a ton of oregano, a little too much oregano.
Let's try the regular ravioli.
Definitely tastes like airport food.
But you know what I'm kind of excited about?
These are fresh-baked cookies, and I love oatmeal raisin cookies.
This is probably the best thing here.
As I was stuffing my face with ravioli, I realized that I could actually get into two different lounges in this airport.
So I was in the Maple Leaf Lounge.
Now, I'm gonna go to the Plaza Premium Lounge and see what they have to eat.
This place is just as crowded as the last place, but check this out.
Cupcakes, salad, some Spanish rice, and some beef with cabbage.
And then I see this sign, please proceed downstairs for more food options.
Let's go downstairs, then.
Here, they got some chow mein and a dim sum.
Well, there used to be dim sum there.
Whoa, jackpot.
They make fresh noodle soups here for you.
On top of that, they got congee and red bean soup.
Thank you so much.
Let's jazz this up.
Scallions, dried garlic, and a whole lot of chili oil.
This lounge is definitely far superior than the other one when it comes to food.
Here, I got a bowl of hot chili oil with just a bit of noodle soup.
This is not bad.
This really is not bad.
This is my seat right here for the next 10 hours.
Headphones, blankets.
It's either a mattress or a yoga mat.
Let's see what's in here.
Hand cream, chapstick, toothbrush, toothpaste, facial mist, score.
Of course, you got the usual reading light, plugs.
One thing I don't see, it's a lot of storage space.
There's a nice table desk thing here, but not a lot of storage space.
I am digging the size of this TV, though.
Let's see what else.
Sky channels.
I'm looking for the menu, and there's no menu.
I'm like, I want to read about what I'm about to eat.
That's my favorite part of any flight.
It's not here.
I'm going to patiently wait for it.
Luckily, I ate a lot in the lounge, so I'm okay for now.
Whoa, I just discovered a control switch here.
I don't think I can ever go back to the old up and down.
Up and down, I can't be doing that.
It's like having automatic windows in your car and then going back to the old twisty one.
My favorite book is here.
So for dinner, I ordered a Japanese cuisine.
Also, I asked him to give me a bowl of the Japanese ramen,
and I'm going to ask him also to give me a Japanese pizza.
Why not? I'm on vacation.
Oh, whoa, you get your own little window in here.
Bathroom with a view.
Spray toothbrush.
I'm just going to take another one of these.
These always come in handy.
Oh, and check this out.
This toilet.
This is the first time I've ever seen an automated toilet on the airplane.
And this is really interesting.
I don't know what this is.
I think it's a smelling package.
This is really weird.
It just says push.
All right.
Ooh.
Bunch of things popped.
Well, it's definitely refreshing.
I think it smells like Bengay.
And a full-length mirror just so you can check yourself out
and make sure you look good for whoever you're trying to impress on a 12-hour flight.
I do want to say that after I ordered all this stuff,
so I ordered dinner with ramen, with a Japanese pizza.
Side attendant is looking at me like I'm insane.
Like, like I've been neglected.
Like I've never seen food before.
But I want to try them all so I can tell you guys how it is.
So it's not really for me.
It's for you.
I'm eating as many delicious items as I can for you guys.
Okay, I think I've been in this bathroom a little too long.
If they can hear me, I mean, they probably don't know I'm filming a video.
They just think it's some random dude who eats a lot talking to himself in the bathroom.
Look at this adorable little plate of pre-appetizer samplers.
Not bad, pretty comfy.
Good night.
Thank you so much.
It's 6.30 p.m. in Tokyo, and I feel like I haven't slept in like days.
Like I mentioned, I only slept two hours last night.
I slept zero on the plane.
I ate a lot, so all the food coma's been accumulating.
I feel like a walking zombie right now.
Yay, I'm officially in Tokyo.
I swear, I'm never prepared when I travel.
All I have is $140.
Oh, how cute, bookmark.
Okay, thank you.
My $140 got me over ¥20,000.
Yay!
I don't think this can buy much.
Also, I believe the ATM machine just saved my butt just now
because I tried to take some money out of my bank,
and for some reason, I cannot convert in my head.
So, $1 right now equates to about ¥120.
So, in my head, somehow taking out ¥500,000 made perfect sense.
Luckily, that was way above the daily withdrawal limit.
Didn't let me do it.
I'm glad that was the case because that would have been close to $5,000.
And I do not need $5,000 in Japanese yen.
I should be the poster child of how all Asians are good at math.
It's just not true.
Right now, it's late. I'm tired.
Obviously, my brain stopped functioning.
Just going to take a cab.
Thank you.
